Gonna miss him but I feel the company is in good hands with Doug Bowser. The guy seems likeable.

I'm pretty happy with the Switch. If any upgraded model were to be made I would have some things I'd like: Bluetooth support: I cannot understate how weird it is for a moden device to not support audio over bluetooth. This means I cannot use my wireless bluetooth headphones with my Switch and I had to buy a separate pair of wired ones just to use with my Switch. Media players: One thing I dislike about the Switch is that unlike the PS Vita, there is no way to transfer music or video to the device, and there is no Netflix or Spotify on the thing either so it's practically useless for listening to music on the go or watching video without an internet connection. Better menus: The menu system looks nice aesthetically but is a mess. Having options to organize games into groups/folders would be nice like you could do on the 3DS. Dunno why they didn't bring that ability forward, it feels like a step down.

Original Switch for sure. A lot of the games are meant to be viewed in docked mode on a nice HDMI screen and you lose a lot of visual detail when playing in handheld mode. And having the ability to use it both as a handheld console and as a home console is its entire selling point. Removing that just leaves you with a great handheld console but that's about it. Also "only supports handheld games" is kind of a weird thing to point out. ALL of the Switch games are capable of being played in handheld mode so technically aren't all of them handheld games? The only thing that makes them different on the original switch is the higher resolution when played in docked mode. I certainly have never encountered any games that would refuse to be played unless you had the console docked. And if they are, the number is too small to even matter.

Depends on several factors. The biggest question should be if you think the lower pricepoint is worth it for sacrificing the dock ability. If you're only gonna use the console in handheld mode anyway then yes, it's worth grabbing. Thing is you can grab a second hand regular Switch for even less than a new Switch Lite if you make a good deal and get more functionality for less money so I dunno. It just depends on what you want I suppose. And if you already own a regular Switch and want a secondary Switch to only use in handheld mode then I suppose it could be worth it for that but why waste money on that when the regular Switch's entire selling point is its portability? I dunno, it's up to you and your particular needs. Just beware that the Lite cannot do anything the Switch cannot do. It's literally the same system. There aren't any exclusive games for it. And personally I've never had issues with the original Switch battery life. I only use it for short periods of time on trips anyway, it supports USB which means I can take a power bank with me and charge it on the go if I need to. And in docked mode the battery life problem is basically non-existent since it's being powered so.. that whole thing is a non-issue for me.

I've never had the drifting issue even on my regular Switch.

The NES sure had a lot of bad games to be fair. Action 52 might be the worst I've seen associated with Nintendo though. 52 games on one cartridge and all of them are horrible.
-
It looks like a decent remake. Not hugely keen on the soundtrack, but the art style is charming.
-
Yeah the Switch Lite isn't like the New 3DS. The console is literally identical to the Switch save for lacking a dock station so exclusive games make no sense given it shares the exact same software and library.

Classic situation. I've done that too in FPS games where I've played on hard difficulty and have wasted too many resources.

What do you do when you encounter a game-breaking bug?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
Yeah console gamers are kinda screwed in that regard. But you're not safe from gamebreaking bugs on PC either. The PC exclusive Bombshell for instance had multiple gamebreaking bugs on release and even after several patches I ran into a bug that softlocked me entirely from progressing until I reloaded my save. -
Are your partners/spouses/family/roommates supportive of your gaming?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
My boyfriend is the same. He's not really into FPS's due to the point of view. He does like RPG's though. -
I've been using my PS Vita consistently for years and my Switch is being used frequently so for me it's worth it.

I was just dancing to it and digging the simple lyrics.

Yeah same. That's generally why Bethesda games are better on PC. -
Same. I've entirely fell out of vogue with mobile gaming. It used to be much better when all we had was crappy Java games.
-
Yeah that's even better... Don't let others' stupidity affect you.

Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PC) For $7.39
Alyxx replied to killamch89's topic in Video Game Deals
Eww CDKeys. Don't recommend buying from them. I always question the legality of where they get the keys from. -
I'm subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online and PS Plus. I find them more than affordable given you only pay for them once a year and the amount is pretty fair I feel.
-
Yeah it's usually for personal or stupid reasons lol Most of the time it's when I do something I know I will regret for the rest of the game like in RPG's or have gotten stuck in level geometry.

What do you do when you encounter a game-breaking bug?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
The ones I always use are the ones that enable the game to utilize more than the usual RAM it uses so it can take full advantage of more powerful systems without crashing. I also love mods that just fix most of the bugs in the game and makes it run better on modern systems. There's also a bunch of cosmetic mods that enhance the in-game models. -

I usually just reload from an earlier point and hope that fixes it. I also highly recommend getting New Vegas on PC cause the mods available just makes it so much more enjoyable to play.
