Should microtransactions and loot boxes be banned?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
My personal opinion is that loot boxes in games should be banned entirely as they introduce a gambling element, especially when combined with real life money. Microtransactions are fine as long as they are kept optional and non intrusive to the game. However I feel in a full priced game, they do not belong. Keep them to freemium games. -
I think Duke Nukem Forever and Deus Ex Human Revolution (both the original and the director's cut edition) are the only games I've gotten 100% completion on.

The Sonic franchise has been really hit and miss since pretty much the Sonic Adventure era. Some of my recent favourites include Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations and Sonic Mania. There are a lot of modern titles you can skip though unless you're a hardcore fan. Personally my absolute favourite game in the franchise is Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

The Longest Journey and the Monkey Island games are some of my favourites in the genre. I also HIGHLY recommend checking out Grim Fandango if you haven't.

Abilities in games you ignore because they're annoying in some way

I remember not using Duke's Duke Vision in Duke Nukem Forever due to an extremely high pitched whine that plays when you use them, similar to that from a CRT TV. Just felt really uncomfortable. -
Has some really bad driving controls and the PC port has extremely clunky interface controls. Oh and I hope you enjoy popups that pause the game for you and force you to stare at them for a whole minute cause the game has a lot of them.

Extremely mediocre so far... In fact I would say it borders on being bad. Combat is fun at times but the enemy roster is extremely samey and not very interesting. Overall the game just lacks any of the charm and style of the first game and feels a lot more shallow and hollow. I would say in fact it ends up feeling like just another open world game with no originality at all. I do have a lot more to get into so I'll let you know when I'm writing my full review of it.

What do you want to see from video games the rest of this year?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
Personally as long as the games have either customizable characters with either gender available, akimbo guns, a killer soundtrack or all of the above I'll most likely dig it. -
In that case I recommend checking out Rage 2. 😛

Yeah, much like Anthem it really is a game you need friends to explore with. I am lucky enough that I have friends who play games with me and we typically make private lobbies so that strangers won't disturb us.

For most people, doing a 1 hour workout 3-4 days a week is plenty. You don't need to make it a massive time commitment. And heck, just doing a few simple routines when you wake up every morning can be enough. And walking instead of taking transport makes a difference too. I think the biggest culprit is our diets though...

Well yeah he kinda is...

Yeah usually I stick with Hard unless the game is flat out unfair on hard skill.

Depends on how long I've played it. With some games I prefer harder skills if it's a game I've played a lot. For instance, I beat Duke Nukem Forever on the hardest skill setting for the achievement just because it's one of my favourite games. That being said it also depends on the game. With some games, especially Bethesda games, the difficulty can be all over the place and something like Normal can be either too easy or Hard can suddenly be too difficult. Thus I often end up switching difficulties in Fallout 4 and Skyrim due to how there's no sweet spot.

I just answered questions regarding social situations and how I handle social interactions. Thought patterns were also evaluated. Just looking for typical autism spectrum disorder signs. I didn't score high enough on any of the answers to quality for Aspergers.

What video games feature the most amazing textures?
Alyxx replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
Far Cry 5 is definitely up there. Stunningly detailed game. -
Definitely looking out for sales and getting games a year or so after release is often a good chance at getting a good deal. Heck a lot of companies, especially Epic Store often releases games for free so there's a chance that the game you wanna buy might just end up being free some day.

Any video with that girl who spent just a freaky amount of time staring at the camera.

Even Romero himself regrets this ad lol

Judging by the reports we've seen lately, crunch time is not exactly a good thing. I prefer not to overwork myself personally.
