Final Fantasy X-2 was really bad in this way. There was a bad ending, a good ending, and a "perfect" ending. The perfect ending's requirements weren't just beat the whole game and the side quests, it was like "save at this specific save sphere then go to this world and do this" level detail. I had printed out the requirements and started going through them but quickly found it's just not a fun way to play the game and never played it again.

Video game dialogue you found surprisingly moving
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Maybe try Return of the Obra Din. Itโs a puzzle/mystery game. But it respects the players intelligence. Introduces a cool set up, some cool game mechanics, and away you go. Itโs all about analyzing. Wish I could play it again for the first time. -
Moments that catch you off guard even after many replays
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Subnautica's story completely and utterly caught my off guard. I knew nothing about the game going into it, except that it could be tense at times. But one time I was flying and I did not know that ATC came online in my location, BANG made me pooped myself lol -
Characters that changed a lot over the course of a game or games
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Blades in the Dark. You technically gain a few things via the XP system, but they're not especially powerful and don't really change your character much. What does change your character is Trauma, and when you accumulate 4 levels of Trauma, your character retires - they are physically or mentally unable to keep going. -
Waiting a simple handhold game and what I got instead was a desktop ๐ large old desktop that was used back in 2005 I think it was at the time

Is shipping unfinished games the future of gaming? ๐ฅ
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Because people keep buying them. Stop buying AAA games on release, like none have been good for a decade now. Because people keep buying them. Stop buying AAA games on release, like none have been good for a decade now. The games are rushed out for Xmas and the idiots eat it up. Devs then fix the broken game with patches. Happens every year and yet people act shocked. -
Firewatch. I think it might be one of the only games that handles friendship over age 30 in a way that feels very realistic. Without spoiling anything, you take the role of a person living at a fire tower for the summer and spend a lot of time just talking to someone else over walkie talkie. It really felt like that 30+ get-to-know-you stage where people have more stories, but more brokenness that comes out in doses.

Umm, Maybe Now. You can get tons of good games for cheap or even free. Downside: Sadly the creative and technical improvements seem to slow down compared to what we had in the past

How much are you willing to pay for remasters and remakes?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Depends on the game and what publisher. If its a Nintendo game I wont wait that long. Same with Capcom and Square Enix who are known to not really give their games big discounts. But if its like a Ubisoft game which like goes more than half after a year and more the year after then sure even up to 80 percent if it would go that low -
Has a video game ever helped you explain something IRL?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
To be 100% honest with myself, games never helped/teached me anything that would help me in IRL situations. It's like thinking "playing a romance game will help you, on the long run, to emphatize better with people of the other gender". Or "i finally learned how to feel confident while taking on an immense threat like the Dragon in dark souls"... it just wouldn't work with a real flee/fight threat response, even with a "regular" human opponent. -
Do you have real life friends, you've met while gaming?
Empire replied to aerodynamik's topic in Gaming Forum
I have many online mates that I known them dince seven years while moved to another location and before that it's been 10 years however you tend to not stick around with people after awhile, that being said I have not meet them face to face, even that I was only 20mins away -
What older games do you want to see get extensive overhauls?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I love to see more of GTA 4 and also BF2 ๐ those are the games that I played allot when doing YouTube videos in 2011 and do not see much content on that anymore. hard to get to play on older games without support -
I started playing Destiny during the pandemic June of 2020, and play fortnite with the kid. Between these 2 I havenโt really felt the want to buy new games as they both keep me really busy. I used to buy at least a new game a month. Maybe try a gaas game to spend your time on during dead months.

Simcity 4 is one of the most relaxing game i've played. Technically you can lose when you go bankrupt, but it is very easy to avoid. Also, it has smooth jazz tracks as background music. Played a recent example of this, bought and reviewed Waking Mars for PC. Lovey relaxing 2D adventure, platformer, has nothing in the sense of intense action but just a curious, serene experience if anything.

I did not, the Demo is nothing like playing the fall you know you are limited to what you can do so

WOW, bored or just a fan that wanted to do it anyway as he thought why not LOL

I mean, we are still getting a lot of news within about a week. We got a state of play with some pretty big bombs, there are like 20 small events scheduled in the meantime, we are getting a big Xbox event, Summer's GameFest is supposed to bring a lot of interesting stuff, we still get the smaller shows from E3 like devolver's and PC gaming show. I don't miss E3 at all, as long as we still get this much news in 1 week.

I really wish I'd kept all of the Video Games & Computer Entertainment and Gamefan issues that I collected as a kid. But you still can get Ebay you know. Pay double at times

I have a very hard time choosing between Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I like the setting of Dragon Age more but I like Mass Effect's continuous story and recurring characters over Dragon Age's shifting protagonists living out small pieces of a worldwide plot. In the end I'd probably say Mass Effect.

I just end up keeping them in a box ๐ Since all my games are now digital based ๐ very easy to keep organized from games that you never play in the dark and the last game that you open back when you played it. I mean who still buys dics for your games any platform

Emulation all the way for me personally and I recommend the same. Original hardware is fine if you have a thing for it, but I personally find the experience to be marginally better on a well made game. Some games are just better with emulation due to enhancements like removing slowdown and flicker. Then you have systems that just have garbo controllers like the Master System.

Just get more stroage ๐ I mean easy to say on PC more so then Xbox or PS then again most networks offer cloud based storage nowdays anyway that allows you to save your files or data into the cloud and load from there ๐ I would end up uninstalling games that I do not play anymore that is taken up space on the disk. Then again I have 6TB and even that so not enought ๐

I mean, it depends. I'd say it's a matter of preference and quality of the remaster/remake. I always prefer the newer version of the game as it usually introduces some QoL improvements. If it doesn't and it is only a cosmetic change like a bit better resolution, it's just a waste of everyone's time.

Microsoft to raise prices of future Xbox Series X/S games to $70
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Its not shocking that it happened but considering their quality of their first party titles being mediocre ill pass until a sale or I get gamepass. Last 3A game I played that might be worth paying $70 for was Elden Ring, and that was $60. Unfortunately though, enough people will pay $70 for half-baked bullshit that they'll keep it going. Gaming is an addiction for a lot of people, and those people will very likely pay the money anyway, just to get their fix on "the new thing".
