  1. so, let me get this straight. They decided to make a live service game with no offline playable options and charged $60 and are shutting down servers within a year of release…That’s so BS and the gaming industry is just cool with it. Even Evolve is still playable offline and that game died years ago.
  2. I am to believe that every single game developer started out with a dream and a passion for videogames. When the company is large enough to be interesting for people with ties and suitcases, this is where their focus changes from it being about a passion to obtaining maximum profit. Its pretty natural in all entertainment industries I reckon. Very few developers can and will stay in the 'love for videogames' zone once big money starts to become part of the equation.
  3. Very inspiring performance from hardcore gamers, this might end up being the one thing that never gets normalized by videogame companies! However, we're all gonna have to keep a look out just in case Ubisoft decides to try again in full force.
  4. That's an option indeed but then you won't get the support and whatnot on if something goes wrong and you ahve windows replaced SteamOS then they will say - Welll you did that
  5. I like games where there isn't really that delineation between side and main quests. For example, quests are clustered around areas and each cluster tells intertwined stories about that area. There might be some overarching quests that span different areas but they are more of adventures or achievements versus a main plot you follow. MUDs have some great concepts that need to be rediscovered.
  6. I can't remember but I would say it has taken me a good two hours to download around a 3gb game once back in 2013 😛 I was using mobile internet stick to my PC and not had any connection to the house for that amount of time I lived there. well, the box was full and no spot left to add me. Then again back then I Was buying games on dics 🙂
  7. I don't know if you'd call it a game, but Telltale's Game of Thrones is a fantastic extension of the plot. It really captures the tension and depth of the show perfectly. The Walking Dead is good too, but the first few episodes tried too hard to work in point-and-click elements. It just didn't fit. They seemed to catch their head on that by the end of season 1, though. I haven't played s2 yet.
  8. They are an art form, but I don't think they're the highest form of art. There is no one highest form of art imo; however, there can be examples of the highest pieces of art from all art forms. Games like BioShock sit on the same pantheon as paintings like Mona Lisa and films like Inception.
  9. Most games do take so much space nowdays more then many years ago. MSFS2020 for me it's around 360GB in size 🙂 That's with everything from payware addons and freeware addons and everything else that has to be there 😛 One of my addons that I have is like 8GB itself. With games in 4k and whatnot files have to be higher anyway. But remove games and files that you do not want anymore and keep the others
  10. Mandalore Gaming is one of my favorites. He doesn't upload on a regular schedule since I think he's more focused on his Patreon versus playing the YouTube algorithm game, but he puts some solid effort in to the pacing of his reviews. Plus I think he's a one-man show for the most part so it's probably a lot of work for him. He mostly reviews older odd ball games, but he occasionally puts out a video on something a little more mainstream (albeit still older). Needless to say, his videos are great and on top of that they're pretty laid back in presentation. He's not over the top and he doesn't play up some kind of online persona or anything. That being said, he does instill some humor in to his content to give it a little flavor. Nothing overbearing though.
  11. Back when the first Sims was a thing, I noticed that when I played it a lot it really gave me the sense that my life had as little spare time in it as the Sims'; school/homework/chores/eating/hygiene leaving room for, like, one hobby. (Spending too much time playing Sims was actively consuming hobby time, of course, but playing other video games didn't make me feel that way about my life.)
  12. True but I think that was mainly because of Bookers protectiveness/ she lost the nerve in the moment. We see earlier Elizabeth asks Booker to help her kill Comstock, and Booker says he won’t help, because he’ll do it for her so she doesn’t have too. And even though she doesn’t do it directly she still wants to go on and destroy every other version of him.
  13. I really like that this series appears to be including plot points from Ellie's Prequel comic hence that scene where her ankle is chained and where she first came in contact with the Fireflies and The Left Behind DLC with Riley hence the Gallopers Ride in the Ruined Mall. I think this series has everything right so far. And that clicker is spot on, I was worried they'd look a bit goofy but this is awesome make up work.
  14. I don't see anyone recommending Fire Emblem: Three Houses for your switch. All the monastery activities probably goes well with your preferences. Really easy to get into the daily life! Persona 4/5 would also be good, but that's for PS or PC.
  15. Idk man, for me, Shattered Memories is by far the weakest Silent Hill. The mere fact that you don't fight anything is a major turnoff to me. Homecoming isn't even a bad game. I don't even know where the hell people get that it's a bad game. So the fighting is clunky, I mean really? The combat is shit in basically all the games so that's a moot point. Scarlet and Amnion are fucking scary.

    Xbox In Japan

I know japanese made games are still as important as ever to international gaming companies, but how important is Japan as a consumer market currently. Seems like regionally Asia as a whole is more important than japan specifically
  17. You mean the screen to watch then your TV then yes, I have a amazon fire stick that's HDMI that I use to my monitor and then Dispay port for my desktop, not the same as watching on the TV with HDR10 support
  18. True then again I like to go back to the good old days and see what FSX was like 😛
  19. Doesn't look to bad then again not allot of information about this
  20. There are different ways to do biopunk. One is the standard one, biopunk society with it's flaws and pros, where the interaction between nature and technology is functional and a bit bizarre. And then there's this type of biopunk an horrific, macabre, revolting and terrifying union between technology and nature.
  21. Had the same thing happened to me. I accidentally clicked the link that took me 2k support but I did not click on the zip file. It worried me and ending up doing some password changes as a precaution.
  22. This video is not made by CDPR, jsut sone random CGI/3D studio that show what UE5 can do and use popular game series for that. You can also see a Bully UE5, Mario UE5 etc and they all look weird because these studios have no sense of artistic direction and they all try to produce an ultra realistic rendering which is often souless. It's a tech demo in the end so it doesn't really mater but it also shows that good graphics without a good art direction is pretty worthless
  23. I was just thinking about how weird it was that no one had tried this yet. If you search up Minecraft Bloodborne or something similar all you get are Bloodborne inspired builds and shitty mods, glad someone finally decided to do it!
