First Splinter Cell is one of my favorite games of all time. What saddens me is that judging by the views of new Splinter Cell videos, it seems that Ubisoft took too long to do anything with this franchise and people have already moved on and don't care about Splinter Cell anymore. I just really want these series to continue and be good.

Silent Hill 2 remake images have popped up online...
Empire replied to Knight Plug's topic in Gaming News
Even if it’s early pitch concepts, it doesn’t look too bad. I hope they don’t use the warm colour palette, as SH2 has a very cold and damp feeling with the blues, greens and greys… almost like a corpse. Seeing as Bloober is working with Akira Yamaoka, and it seems like Masahiro Ito is working on another SH game, I hope they’re involved with the rumoured games to a great degree. -
What Gaming subscriptions do you have and are you satisfied with them?
Empire replied to Yaramaki's topic in Gaming Forum
None at the moment, used to have Xbox pass then again it was like £1 for the first month then I would end it and then get it for another £1 😛 I had it for three months then I ended it. -
How do you decide which platform you will play each game on?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Platforms
I just do one single platform that's PC 😛 I only ahve one -
Nobody knows for sure, and obviously things are changing, but I doubt very much that streaming will replace theatrical entirely simply for the fact that there is too much money being let on the table. Studios aren't just going to give up on the billions of dollars that can still be made, which isn't really possible with streaming. People still want to go to the movies too. But for now I think we're in the middle of a streaming arms race. That will eventually settle into something more like a version of what cable was and people will once again be looking for social interaction and cultural experiences outside of the home.

The new visuals are fantastic! Sure, the Remastered version already looked great, but the jump in visual quality with Part One is astounding. I almost get lost in the world. The sequence in the hotel basement with the stalkers that I played last night was amazing! I really take my time to and look at everything closely to really appreciate the world that was created here with so much attention given to the smallest details. I wonder if my dream will come true one day: Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 getting remade with the same graphical quality as Uncharted 4. I would buy that in a heartbeat!

I believe, they created this remake just so they can have the budget for TLOUpt3 development. Does it justify the $70 price? No. But I’ll still buy this game because I really want to see and experience the improvements. The Remastered is a bit outdated as well so this remake is really the best version of this game.

It definitely makes sense to diverge into two lines. Once zen4 4nm APUs become widely available in 2023/24 it will become feasible to have a portable machine pegged to a performance point to be able to play ps5/xbsx games. However it'll be unlikely for such a device to be at the price point of the current deck.

Project 007 & Project Dragon won't drop before March of 2025
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Project dragons that Xbox exclusive right? This is interesting but 2023 for Xbox seems to be packed. I’m sure 2024 will have hellblade 2 and avowed so 2025 for a game we haven’t seen makes sense -
This is really incredible. I love some of the little touches and how you did the landscape. So many hours you must have put into it. Everything just looks so perfect. my only suggestion would be perhaps a ruffing it up a little here and there to make it look a little worn. If you did and I missed it in the vid just disregard. Again, really amazing.

The scariest enemies, npcs and characters in video games
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
The Alien in Alien Isolation. Five months after completing it and that God damn thumping of feet still freaks me the hell out. Also, regenerators from Resident Evil 4 get an honorable mention. Their movement and sound are bad enough, but that you have to stand still and pull up a scope to kill them while they shuffle towards you really pushes them into nightmare territory. -
Well, Not fast enought, in the UK they are not dropping as fast as you think. Not like the USA.

That’s entirely on your players. A lot of people who experience prejudice against them on a regular basis play games to escape that sort of thing, but some people find it empowering to have the opportunity to fight back against it without the oftentimes harsh consequences of doing the right thing.

Control has no difficulty levels. I found it pretty challenging at points, particularly the bosses. However, I have to admit I've never played a souls game for comparison. I've not yet tried the new expedition missions, which I believe get pretty challenging. I really enjoyed the game, except for frustrations occasionally as it was pretty difficult (I prefer difficulty levels!)

What games ended up being weirder than you expected?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Final Fantasy 13. There always seems to be this hype surrounding every FF release. It's as if the series carries an aura with it that must meet fans standards or else it's a failure. Personally, the game wasn't what I was expecting, but it had its strong points and weak points. To each their own though. Final Fantasy hype always seems get deflated, then turns into anger after the game comes out because it wasn't 100% what people thought it'd be. -
If you game at night, do you use blue light filters?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Nope, Mostly when gaming at night I always ahve my bedroom light on and other lights facing my face. I stream and see I need lights regards the camrea picking it up 🙂 I do not use filters and in fact that I have to wear glasses. -
What's the absolute worst game you've ever played?
Empire replied to harleyqbx's topic in Gaming Forum
EVE. Being a terrible human being is built into the game as profitable. Slaughtering young players is a viable way to earn money and it hurts the new players too since the ship and equipment are all lost. Basically encourages toxic behavior -
Do you look up in advance if characters will die?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Nope, in most cases I do not want to know about the game ended untill I played the game myself. If I know then what's the point of playing the game. With GTAV at least that it can end in three-ways and you ahve to pick and choose who ends up dead at the end of the story. -
Games that make really intentional use of music
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
DOOM is definitely the right answer. Regards epic and great music and whatnot that I love to hear. But then you have GTA with it's radio stations that you all can pick in any GTA games LOL -
Final Fantasy XII. The NPCs in this game are amazing and reveal so much information and lore about the city and stories. There's one character who you can interact with throughout the story and depending on your responses, you get different prizes towards the end. I'm biased when it comes to this game, but a true complete play is hard to do. You'll always find something new to do or something to tweak (can be good or bad, depending on your perspective).

I don't know, they all about the same. I mean with DayZ depands on what Scop that you end up getting to see how far it can go regards to that. I mean with wheel mouse hold click it zooms 5X with normal eyes LOL

Purposeful level design can be a great story telling mechanic. Watching the world changer over time or the effect of conflict on environments. The way things are built or placed can spark stories from passerby players. Dark souls makes good use of this with destruction and body placement
