As far as I can tell it is like Second Life or OpenSimulator only maybe not as good. I have seen nothing in the ads that is not trivial in SL and OS. I know of nothing they claim it can do that is not already supported by current tech. It has already changed the way some of us communicate, work, school, or socialize. The people hyping the term metaverse are way late to the game and know how to hype better than they know how the game works. I doubt that they will succeed, but the long time players are doing well.

How many minutes/hours a week do you typically use VR?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Virtual Reality
I mention this before and over again that I have no zero hours as I have not even own a par. I wih that I do but I do not ahve the extra time or money to be able to do so 😉 I mean it be so epic to do MSFS2020 with it 🙂 just needs a better GPU LOL I know people that have VR abd spent hours a day 🙂 Not everyday and they spent well over a grand. Playing with them is so funny when they are in VR LOL -
On Halo legendary, some are fun, but most aren’t. I don’t like being one hit by janky enemies that move at 500% movement speed. You really have to go against the grain to beat a lot of these guys, and you just shouldn’t have to. Most boss fights were good, except for bassus and adjutant resolution, adjutant resolution because I couldnt figure out his weak spot for the first 5 tries and even then he's just a bullet sponge.

Just think what size room or office pace you need, I mean you be not sitting down, then again depends on what you are doing, playing cards games with your hands only 😉

I’ve learned to appreciate the loudness of my gaming laptop fan
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Replacing the thermal paste has proved to be a better (and less expensive option) for all laptops that I've owned which had overheating issues. Depending on the actual cooler design, it helped reduce temps from 10°C to 30°C ! Cooling pads are not helping if the thermal paste which transfer heat from the CPU to the cooler is dead. It can help when the paste is not completely dead tho, but repasting is so much more effective that I don't bother with cooling pads at all. -

What??? No way, God of War on Xbox? (obvious clickbait)
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
It's fake as they are still blocked aren't they? This might be a student project. I don’t know if PlayStation can do anything as parody is protected by the first amendment. It didn’t use the name God of War and the “assets” are all original. Using the direct art from God of War is actually a more likely grounds for legal action. The problem with this is, if Sony doesn’t take legal action, another studio can plagiarized and then say, “You didn’t care enough to defend it before.” It can set a legal precedent. Companies HAVE to take all such things seriously or they can lose control easily. Same time, if they take legal action, they will be laughed at by gamers. Still, that would be a small price to pay. Sony got to take the studio to court, and maybe Xbox too. You can imagine, other games easily making copies of Aloy, Kratos, Drake, etc., and they will if Sony doesn’t take legal action and nip it in the bud. -
Breaking Bad Creator Says He Tried To Make A Video Game Adaptation
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Never seen the TV series and so I do not know the full story and whatnot, but if he does or do not then it might be a epic and great resuilts. -
What are your favourite gaming memories from the past?
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
Back in 2004 I still remember the first time I booted up City Of Heroes. That music started up and I immediately felt like a badass, creating my superhero. Spent an hour designing Gun Gal, and I was giddy when I got the Buckshot power. Those Skuls never stood a chance. -
The resistance series had pretty drastic changes between games, the first one felt like an old school shooter with a weapon wheel and non regenerating health. It also a some pretty creepy levels. the second game changed a lot of that it was much more similar to modern shooters with a limit of two weapons at a time as well as having regenerating health.

The estimation seems off. Sony announced the PS5 was 21.7 million units as of June 30th. Only 130,000 units over the next thirty days sounds low.

VR for learning real-world trades and skills
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Virtual Reality
Mechanic simulator 🙂 maybe LOL Friend has been working on cars for over 20 years and this is the most in-depth car mechanic sim he ever played on VR. The motor is nearly identical to a Miata motor. The suspension work is almost perfectly adaptable to real life. I’ve built thousands of suspensions and this game was nearly no different. The only thing it’s missing is seized bolts, rust, and bashing your hand on. Oh and bad angles. The game allows you to access any angle since you can phase through most parts. -
I love to try and wear them and play around with them as I never had a chance to do so 😉 However working in them ALllllllllllllllllllllll Day...? NOPE Just think the headache that I would get and the pain afterwords, I rather not thanks. You can get loppy and sick after awhile if you not going to take a break from it. I mean unless the paid is good. Still no for me.

This game is definitely fun if you're playing online competitively, but if you're just a casual like myself who doesn't really care about playing online, there's not a lot the game offers to you. No single player content, no stock battles, no fun items. I'm hoping these are things that Player First Games are working on currently, because, right now, in my opinion, the game is pretty bare bones.

Character creation polish and more voices will probably be some of the last things added before it leaves early access games in most cases if they have any that they would added. I’m actually surprised there are as many cosmetic options as there are currently in Baldurs Gate 3, though I suppose character creation is a pretty important component for these types of games, so they probably had to add em in so people wouldn’t whine.

What personality traits make it easier to immerse oneself in gaming?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think to an extent it comes naturally with the right games, but I think it’s a personality thing as well. I can’t play horror games as I get completely terrified to the point of a heart attack but will get a friend to come in and get me through parts and they have zero issue, literally creeping around in the minecraft caves rattles my bones 😛 -
Depends on the game. Online games I'll consult internet resources. Single player games I'll check for a tutorial and failing that, just start over. With that said, to combat "game fatigue", I typically have 3 different styles of games that I have installed and am playing. A single player game that is my main game, a Metroidvania for when I need variety and something simpler and a online FPS when I need to blow off steam or play with friend

Have you played on a school esports team?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
School never did offer that anyway and if I had a choice I would not join. There are better things then that in collage/school that would lead you to a reallife job. -
Titanfall 2 does some of the same style stuff that Singularity did really well. The whole game isn’t based around it, but the parts that are are insanely fun. Not to mention it’s just an all around great game.

Looks like Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting Iron Man and Thanos armour
Empire replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Valhalla isn’t a bad game by any means but I’m extremely cynical about the fact that they’re leaning into the fantasy side so much to sell stuff like this or flaming helmets or Sauron maces etc. As a fan it feels incongruent to the series and stuff like that is far more suited to a spin-off like the leaked one that got canceled(which sounded kind of interesting to me). I don’t feel like the frankly boring and generic fantasy elements they’re adding in the new games fit what a mainline AC game should be, especially when they’re honestly good games outside of it. -
Another Princess Is In Our Castle - Super Mario 64 inspired game

Biggest dropped threads/loose ends in video game series?
Empire replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Basically every Far Cry game gets like this for me. I get super into the beginning of the game unlocking weapons and getting more powerful but at a certain point near the middle of Far Cry games, the progress slows to a trickle and the cracks really show in how boring the AI is. -
Missed the good old days gaming and Roleplaying with people in the years of 2012 till 2014 or 2015 ;( but people have life to deal with and it has to be stopped. Went dead as soon as GTA5 was out. Worse part that I do not speak to them much anymore even that we still see each other online 😛
