I haven't worked on creating video games, but I have helped edit text based MMORPGs. Was fun creating and editing things in it. Spent 7 years helping out modify the game to work and update based on current standards at the time.

The OLDEST video games you remember playing on a PC?
Joshua Farrell replied to The Overseer's topic in Video Games
That is a fun game to play. I remember I spent a half a year playing that game against other people. -
I have three at the moment. The Playstation, the X-Box and the X-Box 360. I no longer use the playstation, due to missing my controller for awhile now, and the games I have with it are a bit damaged.

This gets brought up in the news every now and then. They have a point. If you are distracted, pain tends to lower or disappear during the distraction and for a little time after.

I've tried it a few times. I haven't yet adjusted to using it during the night time. I would rather just use the preset settings I have it setup to run on. Probably should try it out more often.

It depends on what I am doing that requires the option. If I am playing and want to mow my way through enemies, I prefer two weapons over a single weapon in game.

What game would you love to see become backwards compatible?
Joshua Farrell replied to Martin Berisford's topic in Xbox
A game I wish was able to work on the newer systems would be Brute Force. I loved playing that game on the original X-Box, and would play it for hours! It allowed you to pick whether or not you wanted 3rd or 1st person shooting, so that you can strategize better with your surroundings. Loved the fact that you could also have recovery chips that you can earn from your enemies to get clones of them for your side. -
I know, older topic. If you are still interested, I would recommend Star Wars Commander. It is a fun game to compete against others with your own rebel or imperial base. It comes with the ability to get troops and heroes from either side, and is really competitive.

Sounds like someone who doesn;t know how to play without a hack to play on par with everyone else. I hate these types of people.

The OLDEST video games you remember playing on a PC?
Joshua Farrell replied to The Overseer's topic in Video Games
I can't remember the name of the very first game I ever played on a computer, but I remember what it was about. It was an adventure game that you had to use command prompt to open from a floppy disk, where you would go around exploring a world and solving various quests of different people you would come across. I spent hours playing it. -
I've generally disliked heavy armor, because it makes it easier for enemies to do group ups on myself. Though if I had appropriate weaponry for it, then I can get past the tanky feeling of heavy armor. In games of speed, I love light armor, as it allows me to appear and disappear quickly to confuse my opponents.

Should be easy enough with laptops, touchpads, and any computers that the people actually own game extensions that allow wireless controller access.

The last game I purchased, was $75. It was a good purchase. 🙂 If I get around to purchasing the 3 campaigns to Starcraft 2, I will be putting in a big expense into that.

Classic games from your youth that everyone has forgotten about?
Joshua Farrell replied to DylanC's topic in Gaming Forum
Only reason why I say forgotten, is that I hear no one talking about it where I live, and I would have expected people to remember it and how much fun it was. -
I think the main issues with why PC games are not as popular in groups, are because of a few main issues, which are cost, available space needed for lan, and weight. Not many people are willing to play on lan with their computers, and honestly, the internet can be flaky based on the area where the people may live.

I hate spending a ton on phones, unless I expect to use them for extended periods of time, while I am away from a computer. I normally spend less than $100 on new phones.

My recommendation for a game that you don't have to worry too much about going idle or playing all the time, would be Egg Inc. It is a good idle game that is always fun to just sit and watch as the game runs itself.

Classic games from your youth that everyone has forgotten about?
Joshua Farrell replied to DylanC's topic in Gaming Forum
Best classic I wish they would do a proper reboot with that will get me to go back and play the old dos version, would be Escape to Monkey Island. That game series was very fun to play. I spent hours upon hours trying different things to achieve different results over and over. -
Most money I have ever spent to purchase games, probably would be in the $200-$300 range. I loved playing Maxis games, particularly The Sims and Sim City.

Do you know how to build/customize a PC?
Joshua Farrell replied to The Overseer's topic in Gaming Forum
If I had the money and time to waste to tinker on hardware, I would build my computers more often than not. There are occasions on where I would definitely go with a custom built over a premade to specs. -
Do you play Creative or Survival on Minecraft?
Joshua Farrell replied to 9Online's topic in Video Games
I prefer Creative, as I would rather create stuff then just to play and be competitive with people. I guess I am like those who want to make stuff and share with people, or like those who want to do a group effort to create something different. -
I've done some competitive racing before. The game I generally compete on is Crash Nitro Kart. Always fun to play against others, especially when doing team racing.

New Batman title in the works at WB: Batman Court Of Owls
Joshua Farrell replied to DylanC's topic in Gaming News
Sounds like something that I would love to play. Don't know if I would purchase right when it comes out though, as we are a little tight on money atm.
