[What games are on your list for the rest of 2024?]

Phantom Blade - If I remember correctly, it's supposed to launch in Q4 of this year so I'm looking forward to that. Also looking forward Dragonball Sparking Zero as well due in October. I've been waiting for another Tenkaichi game since forever. I can't wait!

[Games where you hit a wall surprisingly early in the main quest line]

Dark Souls immediately comes to mind. Early on, you face the Taurus Demon, and it’s such a steep difficulty spike that I hit a wall there. I had no clue how to parry or even use half the items in my inventory. Eventually, I had to look up a guide, practice timing, and really learn the mechanics. Once I did, the game became much more manageable, though still challenging.

I couldn't find anything on Reddit or on YouTube per say but maybe try to fiddle with the audio settings and see what happens.

[Do you like being able to highlight the path?]

It depends for me. When it's really subtle, I don't mind it. But when the highlights are too bold and distracting, I tend to turn that off.

[Games where you can’t comprehend how anyone plays on higher difficulty levels]

Casual mode is there for a reason, and it’s awesome that you’re still enjoying the game! Some people just like the challenge of higher difficulties, but honestly, there’s no ‘right’ way to play.

[Surprising/indirect ways games called you out?]

That's hilarious and kind of brilliant! I love when games subtly call out player behavior like that. It makes you more aware of how much the game is watching you just as much as you're watching it. I had a similar moment in Red Dead Redemption 2 where I accidentally shot someone I was trying to help, and the game just wouldn't let me live it down.

Agreed. Ai-generated content as of this moment makes games feel so generic. Most of the content produced by it is just a ripoff of existing content and most of the time, it's very obvious.

Agreed. Community events have definitely added a new layer to my gaming experience. They offer a sense of belonging and help build stronger connections with both the game and other players. Online tournaments, in particular, have made the gaming community feel more global and inclusive, which has been fascinating to witness.

I discovered my favorite genre, action-adventure while I was growing up, I played Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda with my siblings. This is what sparked my interest. Later, a friend of mine introduced me to the Assassin's Creed series. This is what cement my love for the game I love.

It was more of a gradual process for me. I started with action games but slowly gravitated towards more story-driven experiences. Over time, I realized that RPGs were what I enjoyed the most, especially those with deep narratives and character development.
