Was playing some more Black Myth Wukong.

The song that makes me cry is Aaliyah - I miss you because a childhood friend had died around the same time when this song came out so I always remember him.

Nintendo now going after YouTubers that show their games being emulated

Nintendo has always been tight-wads when it came to emulators and things like that. Hopefully it comes to nothing. -
We all know that music can make or break a gaming experience! Whether it’s an epic orchestral score, a catchy chiptune, or a haunting melody, certain tracks stick with us long after the game ends. What’s your favorite song from a video game? Share the title, the game it’s from, and what makes it special to you.

Let's settle the debate! When it comes to RPGs, everyone has their preferred fighting class. Do you love the brute strength and resilience of a warrior, the mystical powers and versatility of a mage, or the stealth and cunning of a rogue? Share your favorite class and why it stands out to you! What abilities or playstyles do you enjoy most? Let's hear your thoughts and any memorable moments that highlight why your choice is the best.

I'm curious to know who everyone typically picks when they jump into Super Smash Bros. Do you have a main character that you feel most comfortable with, or do you like to switch it up? What draws you to your choice - playstyle, nostalgia, or maybe even just the aesthetics?

Do you find that your gaming experiences watching help you become a better friend? Whether it’s through shared experiences, teamwork in games, or the emotional connections formed through storytelling, I’m curious about how these activities impact our friendships. Do they help you communicate better, share interests, or provide support?

I definitely prefer cinematic dialogue! It adds a layer of immersion and emotion to the experience. The close-ups can really capture the characters' feelings and help us connect with the story on a deeper level.

Most confusing areas or maps in video games?

Definitely the Water Temple from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. No matter how many times I play through it, I still get lost trying to raise and lower the water levels. It's a nightmare. -
I’d say Outer Wilds. It’s a game about curiosity, learning, and the inevitability of change. It doesn’t just present these ideas as a narrative, but builds them into how you play and explore the world. I found its message about impermanence both humbling and beautiful.

What mostly linear game deserves their own open world/sandbox game?

With zombies lurking at every corner, you can't afford to be complacent or else you're finished in-game. -
Yep. I used to play Duck Hunt and Super Mario brothers on the original Nintendo console when I was about 3 years old. That is what got me into gaming.

GTA San Andreas - I mean you could go almost anywhere in-game. Go to the gym and train if you wanted to grow stronger - use skills repeatedly to develop your character. It gave you a sense of freedom in terms of what you wanted your character to be really good at.

Games where it was unclear to you if you’d finished a segment
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That happens to me all the time in RPGs like The Witcher 3. I’d finish a quest, and I’d still be paranoid I missed a side quest or optional dialogue that could have changed the outcome. The scale of those games makes it tough to know when you’re truly done with something. -
Anyone feel they are a worse-than-average gamer?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Not at all. I'm normally catch on to games pretty quickly so even as a novice, I tend to outperform people with a bit more experience than me. -
Compare to 20-30 years ago, I'd say that game mechanics are much more simplistic - Back in the day, when you wanted to pull off combos in fighting games, you had to be pressing several buttons simultaneously and you had to time it or else you couldn't pull them off. Tekken and Mortal Kombat were guilty of this in the past.
-
I think it was maybe two or three at most. One of them was Star Wars Battlefront 2 and I can vaguely remember doing it two other times but I don't remember which games.
-
I think a big part of the shift is that studios are now taking the source material more seriously. In the past, video game adaptations were often treated like quick cash grabs without much respect for the game’s lore or fanbase. Now, creators realize there's a dedicated audience that wants authentic storytelling, and they’re hiring directors and writers who genuinely understand the games they're adapting.

I agree, Skyrim's landscapes still feel epic, especially with its use of atmospheric lighting and the contrast between nature and architecture. I’d add that games like Shadow of the Colossus and Okami have aged beautifully as well. Their unique art styles make them timeless in a way that realism often can’t match.

Some great ones are Dark Souls, The Witness, and Hollow Knight. Each of these games expects players to figure things out through trial and error or by exploring the environment. No tutorial pop-ups telling you what to do

Games you love that are fashionable to dislike?

I actually love Mass Effect: Andromeda. The story and character interactions really pulled me in, even though it got a lot of hate for its bugs and animations.
