Think we'll see midnight release parties again?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
The issue is that most game releases nowadays are extremely disappointing with an unfinished game needing a day one patch just to function on launch date. -
You both took the words out of my mouth - an immersive and engaging experience.

Nier: Automata when you learn that humans actually have died long time ago and YoRHa is sending ships to Moon (or whatever can't remember) to keep up the illusion that humans are still alive. Spec Ops: The Line when Walker goes to confront the manipulative Colonel Konrad, who Walker believes has been trying to take control of Dubai the player instead finds a corpse. This twist is that Konrad has been dead for a goof while. Walker has been hallucinating about Konrad, and Walker has to come to terms with all the terrible acts he's committed. Final Fantasy VI when you find out that the main villain isn't Emperor Gestahl but Kefka the clown. Kefka had killed him and was attempting to take over.

I wanted to do the same years ago but then it occurred to me that It'd probably take away the fun element of playing when I want and enjoying the game how I want to. When you're a pro player, you're under pressure to constantly perform at your very best or else, you'll end up with less income. Especially when professionally gaming is your primary income, you'll eventually get burnt out and lose interest in gaming.

Any 2024 or 2025 games you plan to buy on release day?

Dragon Ball: Sparking zero -
I'm very weary and that's because Ubisoft's recent track record has been a disaster to say the least. However, I hope they can offer a way better Star Wars experience than anything EA has come up with. Their only two decent games being Fallen Order and Squadrons.

It definitely does take a lot of inspiration from Overwatch - A bit too much in my opinion. I'd say it looks decent but I almost thought I was watching an Overwatch 2 DLC.

A no-die option is kind of insane - even kid-friendly games don't have anything like that. Everything in life you do has some kind of difficulty - breathing is a challenge. Learning anything is a challenge. I'm not outraged like those people on social media but the issue with that is most people won't even use that option. And even the one's that do will quickly get bored of the game and not really want to play it.

Prices for Xbox Game Pass to go up soon, also include a new Standard tier
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Same here. I knew a price hike was coming soon either. That being said, $20 per month is starting to really get into the pricey range. -
Switch is now known as Nintendo's longest running home console
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
There were rumors floating around of a Switch two a few months back possibly coming out later this year or early next year so we'll soon a new console from Nintendo. Hopefully, it's a massive improvement on the current Switch. -

Think we'll see midnight release parties again?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I agree - a bug-free release would be nice. Not some half-assed "release" and then one month of daily patches to make the game somewhat playable. -
Not at all - the reason being that by making gaming a profession, it'd no longer playing games for the fun of it and instead, as a means of income which takes away the fun aspect. I'll eventually become burnt out and might stop gaming altogether because I'd no longer enjoy it.

What underappreciated games would make great films or TV shows?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That's a good call actually. I can just picture it now - the storyline is also very engaging.
