As gamers, we often expect high-quality content, but how can we do more to support the developers behind our favorite titles? Whether it's through constructive feedback, financial support, or helping foster positive environments, there are many ways we can contribute. What do you think gaming communities could do better to support developers during and after a game's release? How can we balance holding developers accountable while also recognizing the hard work they put in?

Good picks. I think Astro’s Playroom really shows off what the DualSense can do too, especially with the haptics. It was a fantastic introduction to the new controller’s features. I also feel like the adaptive triggers in Deathloop added a cool dimension to the experience, but I think it’s also important to mention the haptic feedback in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It does a great job of making the world feel alive.

For me, it's from digital platforms such as Steam, GOG and others as mentioned by others here. If it's physical games, primarily Mercari or Ebay.

For me, it was Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree which was a brilliant DLC with lots of new sorceries, abilities and ashes of war. I loved every second of it.

First Person. What is the allure for you?
killamch89 replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
You do have exceptions like Dead by Daylight and Dishonored that are great at platforming, stealth and Melee combat but your point is mostly valid. -
As @The Blackangel said correctly, that rating system is really lacking in certain areas because there have been some quite frankly horrendous games out there. There was the suicidal game years ago on Steam that had no rating either. You're right that a lot of the "controversial" complaints about modern games are so trivial that it makes you really scratch your head and I'm glad nobody has taken them seriously either. If it were up to those people, we'd be stuck playing overtly kid friendly games with no violence or controversy in it. The part that annoys me is a good amount of those people making those trivial complaints aren't even gamers and they keep pushing this nonsense about games making kids violent that the media and political officials have brainwashed them into believing. Have you seen the suicidal game that was once on Steam (name escapes me at the moment)? And that game didn't even get half the backlash that games like Manhunt and Mortal Kombat got in the 90s.

How do you like your PS5 - Standard PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition?
killamch89 replied to Icefrost's topic in Gaming Forum
I also own the standard version and Horizon Forbidden West is a great game and so is its prequel, Horizon Dawn. Buying a fully digital console with disc drive just feels like I'm buying a budget gaming PC with even more restrictions and I'm not looking to waste money. And don't even get me started on that stupid PS5 Pro... -
That could be a viable route but some may not want to sell their games either. To be fair, I'm not sure what kind of research is even done on classic games but that's why I've started to homebrew my 3DS. That way I have access to all of the 3DS titles that Nintendo has stopped offering on their platform.

The Game Awards 2024 - Nominees announced, who you got winning?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Black Myth Wukong is definitely getting my vote. It's a brilliant game with rich lore and fun and amazing gameplay. I've been saying this all of 2024 that the amount of quality games has been severely lacking. Also, how comes Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero didn't make the cut either? I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a few other games as well. How comes they weren't nominated for game of the year? -
First Person. What is the allure for you?
killamch89 replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
I can see how first-person games could be a bit much for some people. It really depends on the setting and mechanics. I think a lot of people like them because of how immersive they can be especially when it feels like you’re actually in the world of the game. I haven't played Pneumata yet, but I’ll have to check it out now. I’ve gotten back into Dishonored recently, the stealth and exploration aspect is really well done. -
As VR technology advances, should it focus more on enhancing social interaction? Virtual avatars could provide a sense of presence and identity when meeting others in virtual spaces. Would this make VR experiences feel more engaging and personal, or does it distract from the immersion? Should we prioritize better graphics and gameplay over social features? Share your thoughts on whether avatars and social elements should be integrated into VR headsets for more meaningful interaction.

Virtual Reality (VR) is revolutionizing many fields, but what impact could it have on the future of scientific research and exploration? From simulating complex environments for experiments to enabling remote collaboration across the globe, VR could be a game-changer. How do you see VR advancing areas like space exploration, medical research, or environmental studies? Will it create new opportunities or challenges for researchers?

I’ve heard about Unity and Unreal Engine, but I’m also curious about other options like Godot or any beginner-friendly tools. I’m looking for something with good tutorials, community support, and a low learning curve. Any recommendations on which VR dev platform would be the best for someone just starting out?

It seems like quite an interesting game. I just got a Quest VR headset about a week back so I'm looking out for some games to play with it.

We’ve seen phones evolve with cameras, folding screens, and high refresh rate displays, but what’s something quirky or unexpected you’d love to see in the next big smartphone? Maybe a built-in mini projector, a customizable backlight, or a hidden compartment?

With new phones, software, and features being released all the time, it can be hard to keep track. Do you follow tech blogs, YouTube channels, or specific brands to stay informed? Or do you mostly catch up when it’s time to upgrade your device?

Looking for a mobile game that's perfect for quick, satisfying sessions. Something I can play for 5–15 minutes, whether on a break or in between tasks. Doesn’t need to have a massive time investment, just something engaging with easy-to-pick-up gameplay. Any recommendations for games that are ideal for short bursts of fun?

I’ve been thinking about how many mobile games have such strong narratives and worlds that they could translate into a movie or TV show. Whether it’s the mystery and strategy of Monument Valley, the survival thrill of PUBG Mobile, or the fantasy world-building in AFK Arena, there are so many possibilities. What mobile game do you think has the best potential for a successful adaptation? What would the story be like, and who should be cast?

Do you stick with 1080p for smooth performance, level up to 1440p for that sweet balance, or push your GPU with 4K for maximum detail? What’s your setup, and how does your GPU handle it?

Do you go with air cooling, liquid cooling, or a custom setup? What brands or specific models do you recommend? How has your cooling solution affected performance and noise levels? I'd love to hear what works best for different types of builds, whether you're gaming, content creating, or just everyday use.
