Yeah. My aunt once got a Gamecube clone for me while visiting China in the early 2000s. She didn't know much about gaming and got it because it was extremely cheap. I still accepted as it wasn't her fault but I got rid of it within a year.

Do you still want the 3DO now? What about it appeals to you so much?
-
I don't think I ever reached that stage with any console. I may own one or two peripherals outside of the original controllers but I've never been one to buy peripherals just for collection.
-
Will those fake consoles become collectible one day?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Platforms
I doubt it because they aren't nearly as popular as the original machines so they'll likely be forgotten in time. I can't even name you one bootleg console that ever had kind of long-lasting support. -
Me neither. These must have cost quite a bit back in the day given how much consoles and TVs used to go for. Another thing I've noticed is the portability aspect is practically non existent. In those days, most adults didn't play videogames as much so imagine teens/kids having to carry that around.

It was announced during their 25th anniversary event. I used to watch Duel Monsters as a child so I'd be open to playing it via VR. Imagine the Egyptian God Cards In VR or Exodia. Are you excited about this new development?
-
Nope! Apart from the eye strain, after a while, VR/AR kind of throws off your sense of balance. On top of that, it will look ridiculous wearing it out in public. You make a valid point there. I do like interacting with natural world so using VR all day is a no-go for me.

Apple Vision Pro is out now, anyone try it out?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Virtual Reality
I mean, I doubt anyone would have it. It's like $3500 and from what I've seen, it's okay but I'd give it about two or three more iterations before Apple gets it right. I expect to be far sleeker when future models are released. -
It's definitely heading that way. The reason being is that a lot of companies, most notably Apple has started to really invest more time and resources into AI so the sector will take off.

How long do SD Cards last? Can I re-use older ones?
killamch89 replied to Gonassis's topic in Technology & Gadgets
I have SD cards from 2016 that are still viable even today. Not much has changed on that front in the past decade. The only difference is speed and high storage capacity of modern SD cards compared to older ones. I've had some from 2015-2016 and they're still working as good as ever with no wear. -
Do you like clear or designed phone cases?
killamch89 replied to svjiminfxv's topic in Technology & Gadgets
It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it performs it's primary function which is to protect my device. I've seen people spend 100s of dollars on an Iphone case. Personally, that could never be me. -
Do you change your gadgets once a new model is released?
killamch89 replied to Kennysplash's topic in Technology & Gadgets
Not at all. First of all, technology has more or less plateaued in the past 5 years especially when it comes to gadgets like cell phones and tablets. For the all the hype that's created every year about the latest models, when you compare them to the predecessors one or two years ago, you'll see that the technological upgrade is so miniscule. -
What are your thoughts on AI? Does it worry you?
killamch89 replied to Shortie's topic in Technology & Gadgets
Not yet. For the most part, AI is just a gimmick and mainly hype - It's not going to suddenly take over ever aspect of our life. Most of the AI models aren't even refined enough to do the basics without supervision. -
Songs that quickly make you change the channel
killamch89 replied to melanie_marie27's topic in Music
It was such a freaking ridiculous song. I never liked it either and seeing idiots actually dance to it made me dislike it even more. I'm glad nobody plays it anymore or even remembers it exists. -
Linkin Park will forever be one of my favorite bands growing up:
-
I think it was Reggae Sumfest but it was called something else when I was much younger. I used to go all the time but now I'm not even interested in who's going to perform there. I don't want to go.
-
I don't anymore. I used to do this a lot when I was much younger but now, I don't even want to hear most songs because I just know I'm going to get a lackluster experience.

Want to play Doom on gut bacteria? Well someone made it possible, kinda
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this was possible. They've put DOOM on pregnancy test kits a few years back so this isn't that surprising to me. I don't believe they will stop until Doom can be played on thin air. -
Jason Kelce wants to bring back Backyard Sports games
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Of course I do! I used to play them on the demo CDs I got and I used to have Backyard Football and basketball. Those were the days...Now gaming is just littered with recycled crap like what 2K puts out EVERY SINGLE YEAR. -
95% of studios are said to be working on live service games or intend to
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
More games for me not to play then. I DESPISE Live-service games and wish they would all just burn. This is one of the most cancerous genres in gaming outside of the cesspool that is mobile gaming.
