Video games might relieve depression in older adults
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming News
That's because in life we are taught that by doing A,B and C or having A,B and C we should be happy when everyone has to find their own happiness. -
And the worst part is, there's no Batman! What kind of a series is this? lol. At this point, if they'd make you play the Joker and having to deal with Batman, I'd be much more interested.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO "Expect More Aquisitions"
killamch89 replied to Crazycrab's topic in Gaming News
I'm curious as to why Sony didn't try to purchase some of the IPs Square Enix were selling. Games like Deus Ex would really boost Sony's catalogue of games. -
Not a bad game at all (at least from the trailer) but any Gotham game without Batman is going to be scrutinized and critiqued far more just because of that exclusion.

Electronic Arts & FIFA end 30-year Partnership
killamch89 replied to Withywarlock's topic in Gaming News
After thinking it over for almost one year, I also realized that this wouldn't change much except the name. You'll have the same idiots buying Ultimate team packs every year so EA's football game (whatever it's called) isn't going anywhere. -
Godzilla and King Kong arriving to COD Warzone and Vanguard
killamch89 replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming News
You do have a valid point there - COD has been very stale and unoriginal for closer to a decade. Hell, I've stopped complaining about collabs period because those complaints won't stop them from happening and some of them are very good. -
The NFT industry in particular is collapsing at an insane rate - Personally, I wish NFTs to disappear and never show up in any other form ever again.
-
That's normally what happens after the release of COD games - Vanguard did have some bugs on release but I've hardly played it after a month or so of owning the game so I don't know what they've fixed. With Microsoft looking to acquire them, maybe they actually put some effort into the story this time and introduce something new to the series.

I must be the only person who thought Burnout Paradise, while being worse than the previous game, was still enjoyable for casual gameplay. The problem with the Burnout series is that it tends to overlap quite a bit with the Need For Speed series also developed by EA - at least that's the conclusion I came to because I saw them implement some of those same mechanics in subsequent NFS games.

You know what? I can sympathize with the Falmer because of what the Dwarves did to them but the Forsworn? Nah, they definitely can all die - them and the Hagravens they worship should be destroyed.

I have played a few like Agar.io but I wouldn't say I'm really into them like that. They do help to pass the time when you're waiting on someone though so there's that...

The official VGR.COM Video game pick up thread

Nice haul of games - I totally forgot about the Evil Genius series for the original Xbox. Such an underrated game for its time. -
Video games might relieve depression in older adults

Well you can play RDR1 on PC using an emulator but that's a technicality...I was just making you aware. -
Kids are turning to video games to help with their anxiety
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I honestly would rather parents try to guide their kids on how to deal with anxiety but most parents nowadays are kids themselves. I'd rather they not go on medication because anxiety medication has some severe effects especially on kids and their nervous system. -
If someone asks me what the story of Kingdom Hearts is about, I usually ask them if they know a way to calculate the size of the universe. They'll usually reply with that's impossible and then I'd say that's exactly what trying to understand the story is like.

Yeah - that's what make Fortnite still relevant despite the somewhat repetitive gameplay. I do also like the no build game mode that I have seen them show off.

Godzilla and King Kong arriving to COD Warzone and Vanguard
killamch89 replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming News
You're right - I kinda forgot about the whole Attack On Titan event (the armor was hideous though unlike these). On another note, I do think more and more companies will try the whole collab thing because of how successful it is for Fortnite. -
Godzilla and King Kong arriving to COD Warzone and Vanguard
killamch89 replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming News
My sentiments exactly - I expect things like this from Fortnite. I'm not quite sure which mode it will be available in but we'll get more information soon. -
I haven't played the game in eons but this a pretty interesting collab and one that would be successful. To be fair to Fortnite, it's the one thing that still keeps some people hooked is the collabs/events.

I doubt I've ever seen a more confusing story than the Kingdom Hearts series and none of it really makes sense. I like the fighting mechanics but the story just feels like a make it up as we go along kind of thing. You shouldn't try to understand the chronological order of Kingdom Hearts, you might just go insane 🤣🤣🤣. I completely gave up after the second game.

The thing is where does the story pick up after John Marston and Arthur were both killed previous - who'd be the new MC? Well there is John's son - Jack. Now that I think about, the story would revolve around getting revenge by hunting the government officials that betrayed his father.

Do games feature too much item collection?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
In a lot of F2P MMORPGs, you tend to collect a lot of unnecessary items just to complete quest and then you don't ever have any real purpose for them afterwards. Some are a downright grindfest - at least give us the option to be item collectors instead of forcing us to fill our inventories with useless stuff all the time. -
Two Capcom franchises that should come back...
killamch89 replied to Knight Plug's topic in Gaming Forum
Dino Crisis was a very underrated series in my opinion. It's too bad that games like Arc and Jurassic Park are around - I wouldn't mind a dino-thriller with similar mechanics but with better camera angles and shooting/aiming mechanics. Onimusha is a game I also played a lot growing up with the first few on the PS1/PS2 and later on GBA. Onimusha has been overshadowed by games like Devil May Cry unfortunately and has never really been able to escape that shadow either. -
At this point, what else can they really add to the RE story. Everything has been overused and we already know the in-depth backstory of most of the main characters both good and evil and that was through DLCs.

Your favourite racing game series of all - time?
killamch89 replied to Justin11's topic in Gaming Forum
Honestly, this is a difficult one to answer because there are so many that I love but if I had to choose one, it'd be either Need For Speed. I absolutely love the fast-paced races which get the adrenaline going and keep you on the edge of your seat.- 79 replies
