What’s a band or artist you’ve followed for many years?

I loved that song so much too. Locked up, Mr. Lonely - that album had so many hits! -
I’ve always wondered how people approach their daily routines. Are you someone who thrives in the quiet of early mornings, getting things done before most are even awake? Or do you find yourself more productive and creative at night, when the world slows down? How does your sleep schedule impact your productivity and energy levels throughout the day?

If you had to choose, would you rather receive a gift that you absolutely love but maybe won’t use often, or one that’s incredibly useful but lacks the excitement? Do you prefer sentimental, fun gifts, or practical items that might not have the same “wow” factor?
-
Do you thrive on a fast-paced lifestyle, always juggling tasks, staying on the go, and enjoying the rush? Or do you prefer a slower, more relaxed pace? Where you can enjoy life’s little moments, focus on self-care, and avoid the constant hustle? How does your lifestyle affect your mental health, productivity, or overall happiness?

If you could choose one thing to be remembered for, what would it be? Whether it's a personal accomplishment, a quality you hope to embody, or something you’ve done to impact others, what’s your legacy in a nutshell?

Honestly, it depends on the occasion for me but I'm leaning towards casual.

I used to do photography part-time in my younger adult days. It lasted a few years but I've always wanted to come back to it. It's just a very a expensive hobby to maintain.

Do You Prefer Going to a Party or Hosting One?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
Same here. Hosting a party is a nightmare and I've always thought it was a bad idea. The part I dread about hosting parties is some people getting drunk and start fighting and one ends up killing the other and I'll have to be responsible for all of that. -
Same here, I sleep with like 5 pillows.

If You Could Live Forever, Would You Want To?
killamch89 replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
Personally, having had a couple of encounters with death and one of them extremely close, I don't want to live forever. It'd become draining for me. -
With the rapid advancements in brain-machine interfaces (BMIs), some scientists speculate that they could eventually allow humans to communicate telepathically. While we're still far from this reality, the potential for direct brain-to-brain communication is intriguing. Do you think BMIs will one day make telepathic communication possible, or is it just science fiction? What challenges would need to be overcome for this to become a reality?

I was thinking about how far internet speeds have come, and it got me wondering: did you ever use dial-up internet? What was it like waiting for that screechy connection sound every time you logged in? Did you have any funny or frustrating experiences with it? I remember how exciting it felt to finally get online, even if it took forever.

Biotechnology has immense potential in the creation of smart materials. How could biological processes, like protein engineering, genetic modification, or bio-synthesis, be harnessed to develop materials that respond to environmental stimuli (light, temperature, pressure, etc.)? Could living organisms like bacteria or plants be integrated into material systems for self-healing or adaptive functionality?
-
With advancements in biotechnology, human enhancement could soon become a reality, ranging from genetic modifications to cognitive enhancements. What do you think the social implications might be? Will it create a greater divide between the enhanced and non-enhanced? Could it lead to new ethical dilemmas or even changes in what it means to be human?
-
Biotechnology holds immense promise, but it also presents significant risks. How can we better inform the public about both its potential benefits (like medical advancements) and its ethical, environmental, and safety concerns? What strategies, programs, or educational initiatives have worked in your community or field? Should there be more government involvement, or is it up to industries and schools to lead the charge?

I’ve noticed more apps asking for permissions to access my contacts and photos, even when it's not necessary for the app’s core function. Does this bother anyone else? Do you feel comfortable granting these permissions, or do you think apps are getting too invasive? I try to be cautious, but sometimes I wonder if I’m being overly paranoid.

Do you enjoy customizing your in-game appearance to make your experience feel more unique, or do you prefer to keep things standard? I feel like it adds a personal touch to the gameplay, but I wonder if it’s just a niche thing or if others feel the same. What’s your take on customizing mobile games?

Whether it's a casual time-waster, a strategy game, or something more immersive, share what you're playing and what keeps you coming back for more. Any recommendations for others looking for something new to try?

I’m a huge fan of side-scrolling shooters and recently got into the Neo-Geo library. There are so many great titles, but I’m wondering which one stands out for its gameplay, challenge, and overall fun. I’ve heard a lot about Pulstar and Blazing Star, but would love to hear opinions on what’s considered the best for fans of the genre. What’s your top pick, and what makes it stand out from the rest?
-
I’ve always heard the Neo-Geo has an incredible library, especially when it comes to fighting games like King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown. But I’m curious, is it just as great for action game fans? For those who love fast-paced, high-intensity games, would the Neo-Geo hold up? Is it worth the investment if you’re more into action titles, or is it better suited for fighting game enthusiasts?

I'm curious if anyone here would recommend the Nokia N-Gage to someone interested in vintage gaming. It’s a quirky handheld that blends gaming and mobile phones, but it didn’t exactly take off. Is it worth picking up for collectors or retro gamers, or is it more of a novelty item? How does it compare to other handhelds from its era, like the Game Boy Advance or PSP?
-
The Nokia N-Gage is often remembered for its unconventional design and mixed reception, but do you think it played a role in shaping the future of mobile gaming? While it didn’t achieve mainstream success, the N-Gage introduced the idea of portable, dedicated gaming devices and tried to merge phone functionality with gaming. Could it have influenced later mobile gaming platforms, or was it simply ahead of its time?
-
The Nokia N-Gage is often remembered for its odd design and the mix of phone and gaming features, which led to its failure. But what if Nokia had focused purely on gaming, without trying to merge it with a mobile phone? Could it have found success as a handheld console in the early 2000s, competing with devices like the Game Boy Advance and the PSP? Or was the market just not ready for a dedicated portable gaming system at that time?
