Anything but battle royale games, I'm sick and tired of them. Most of them are unoriginal and all they are is massive cash grabs and hardly anything interesting in the way of content.

Nowadays teachers are far more aware so they can't get away with things like that again. Back then, most teachers didn't know anything about technology.

So true - it used to hurt my thumb I'm not going to lie. It's one of the worst controllers I can ever remember with so many buttons in some awkward places where my hand couldn't reach when I was younger.

It's a problem that is in every industry not just the gaming industry. For instance, if Apple and Samsung fanbois would stop buying their products tomorrow, they'd stop removing so many features and accessories every year.

There are plenty of active gaming communities but you won't find one that's non-toxic and as helpful as VGR. I've been on quite a few and this is the first place where everyone for the most part gets along or at least acts civil towards each other. I've even seen forum members get doxxed by the moderator before in another community just because they had an opposing view.

I can see the practical use of them in terms of making your thumbs more comfortable but their design looks bizarre as hell.

This violent games cause kids to be violent agenda was started by politicians who wanted a scapegoat for their own shortcomings in managing crime and violence. Because so many non-gamers are sheep, they'll believe almost anything politicians say even when the opposite has been proven to be fact. That being said, I quite like your idea about studying gaming influence on positive lifestyle changes. Personally, I'd study the effects of gaming on developing decision making skills to see who much it benefits gamers and whether the effects are short or long-term.

We also had quake and halo tournaments at school and online back in the early 2000s - it was a fun time on the internet without all the toxic crap.

As I said in another post, the reason gaming companies continue to push this crap is because there are those amongst us who'll totally buy into it and that's who they cater for. Not the more rational gamers who will call them out on their bs.

Gran Turismo does have Volvos but it belongs to the lower category of cars not the main focus of the game.
