Same - I am a fan of Dark Souls though so I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one. However, they did say that will be the most expansive world they've ever built and will include horseback riding and stuff like that to traverse it so I'm definitely looking out for this.

Is it just me, or is MGS5 a lot harder than other MGS games?
killamch89 replied to Shagger's topic in Video Games
Honestly, in my opinion, 4 is a bit harder than 5 although 5 had a more open surrounding so you have to be on guard at all times. In MGS 4, the enemies tend to use tactics far more especially in close-quarter encounters. The thing with MGS 5 is that the enemies tend to have a greater field of vision so they can spot from some pretty tight angles. I understand why you'd think 5 is harder because most times you have to use the cover of darkness or depend on things like sandstorms to have any kind of advantage on your enemies. Once you're in their base, you can just set up in an area and completely wreck all the guards. -
I haven't played it as yet - what kind of game is it? What platforms is it available for?

It was a pretty unique game and its art style was somewhat cell shaded yet spectacular - the graphics were ahead of its time. The unique combat style with the paintbrush also made it a very underrated game.

Yeah - I play games mainly for fun and if I start trying to turn it into a full time job, I'll probably get frustrated at some point.

No, their developers has started to work on another title which has some of the mechanics of Left4dead in it. That probably won't happen for a good few years at least.

Mario Kart Vs. Diddy Kong Racing Vs. Crash Team Racing
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
As much as I like all three, I'll have to go with Mario Kart simply for the fact that Mario Kart still sticks to its core mechanics and still manages to be an entertaining game especially for multiplayer. Otherwise, I'd rate Crash Team Racing as second because of how whacky and over the top it was which is what made me like Crash Bandicoot games in the first place. -
My vote goes to Mortal Kombat Trilogy with great lore expansion and a whole host of new and interesting characters that really made the story come alive. Also, this is the first time we ever got an unmasked Sub Zero and he was one of the best characters in the game ironically.

Disney movies/characters that deserve a video game
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I think Aladdin has the potential to make a great open-world platformer. The Incredibles also deserve a proper video game as well instead of that sham that came out after the movies. -
Rust is a fun game especially in teams and the possibilities are endless. The only thing I don't like is when the ruling faction hordes everything. Good thing there's a server reset after a period of time so they all have to start over.

I mean mowing down 1000s of enemies in a game can only be so entertaining unless those enemies show some kind of tactical ability, they'll be mindless zombies which is boring.

Take-Two's CEO reckons we're "ready" for $70 video games
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
It's not like I play NBA 2k or most of their other games for that matter so I'm not spending $70 on their garbage. In a pandemic, why do they feel the need to increase games to $70? -
Germany may restrict games with loot boxes to adults
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
That's very true - or we could call it surprise mechanics! Seriously though, it should be seen as another form of gambling and the same rules apply to those games. It would decrease their inclusion in games. -
Roblox went public today, $30 billion + on first day of trading
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Roblox has always been popular but it's popularity has always been kind of under the radar so most gamers wouldn't notice. Like you though, I never expected them to become a billion dollar company either. -
It's true though - most studios that EA has acquired are either on life support like Bioware or are already shutdown and dissolved. EA are bad at everything else except milking their own customers. I can't disagree with that - I don't know why any company would agree to letting EA buy them out. They'll only run your reputation into the mud.
-
That's a valid point. In addition to that, they've acquired some pretty big franchises such as Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom which means that other platforms such as Sony will have to probably pay them some kind of fee to have those games on their platforms or something along those lines.

Putting Doors in Video Games Is a Nightmare, Say Developers
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Devs are always on social media whining about one thing or the other. I mean, it's part of the job and you're paid to do it so why the complaints? next they'll tell us characters are hard to make. -
I've made this joke about EA probably selling stuff on the black market but this is not what we meant by listening to your fans. At this point, I'm not even surprised by anything EA does - it's always scummy and classless. What do you guys think of this latest ordeal? Moderator Edit: Merged topics as they are basically about the same thing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge reveal trailer
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
The classical beat em ups - Brings back the arcade memories as a kid. Surprisingly, I was planning a Retro run for a week but I hadn't made up my mind what to play as yet. Maybe I'll add this one to the list. -
Do you think Starlink will be sustainable for game streaming (Stadia/Lunu/etc)
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in PC
That's kind of the problem though. It's way slower than regular internet for a far higher price. I imagine that in 10 years, it'll probably be a good option for gaming almost anywhere but right now it's running at slightly above dial-up speeds. -
A good number of Xbox titles can run on PC even without Xbox gamepass but to be honest, Xbox hardly has any exclusives so it's not that big of a deal.
-
PC gaming on a whole is completely screwed at the moment and console gaming is only faring marginally better because nobody can get their hands on anything at all.

I mean you can create your own RP servers with it's own set of rules and such. I'm not quite sure how to go about this but a quick Google and Youtube search should suffice.
