  1. A gripping story is a must - Atmosphere is also just as important because those two factors will immerse you into the game. Then add unique characters with lots of personality to it and character interactions and you have a truly mesmerizing experience. Take Devil May Cry for example - Dante, Virgil and later on the series, Nero (Virgil's son) - Unique characters with lots of personality. Dante and Virgil's rivalry and the constant back and forth between them when speaking to each other - character interaction. The gloomy visuals as with demonic miasma dripping everywhere plus the music make up the atmosphere and of course, Dante and Virgil being the sons of Sparda - a demon who turned against his own kind (Mundus) for attacking the human world unjustly and seals away Mundus. This leads to their mother being murdered by Mundus' assassins and a long tale of tragedy and drama begins.
  2. I played Pokemon GO myself when it was the hottest new thing around at the time and I remembered asking myself what is so amazing about this game. You walk around and catch Pokemon...that's literally it! As you said, I stopped playing it within a week because of how boring the game was.
  3. That's true because I when most gaming media outlets post reviews about a game, I do my own research before coming to the conclusion if the claims they made were consistent with other reviewers.
  4. I would have liked to add Star Citizen because it was such an ambitious project but I don't see it making any headway currently so I will not mention it at all.
  5. There are some politicians that believe this nonsense as well or rather, they always try to shift the blame so I don't expect any better from them. Millennial parenting, in general, is failing the future so things will continue to get a lot worse.
  6. Welcome to VGR forum! @DC I am also a Fallout fan so we will get along fine.
  7. I'll be the first to admit that I don't really pay much attention to most indie games because most of them are extremely sub-par games not worth my time but Outward has caught my attention quite a bit. I did my own research on the game as well and based on what I read, it was consistent with most of what Echelon has noted in his video. I've been looking for a new MMORPG to try because the ones currently out are just - generic and boring. I am looking forward to trying this game out and I am keeping my expectations low given that it isn't on a triple-A budget. Would you be interested in playing an RPG like this?
  8. The original team that worked on the early Dragon age games is long gone and with the cancellation of Dragon Age 4 in 2017, it seems that we may never see another Dragon Age game again or even if we do, it will be a sub-par game. What are your thoughts about this Dragon Age fans?
  9. Huge DMC and Dark Souls fan myself so my analysis would be quite accurate.
  10. I have to agree with @skyfire because of Google's history of dumping projects that aren't profitable within the first 3 years - it can even be as early as 2 years. On top of that, Google always makes very big promises but tends to push out some half-assed solution that is way different from what they were promising so I have no faith in Google Stadia and I don't expect it to be very successful.
  11. I totally agree - It takes hours of repetition before those pro gamers became as skilled as they are in any particular game because only through playing those gamers develop strategies for particular situations in a given game.
  12. My pick would be the DMC series where it starts you off at a very manageable level and then you have the option of playing it on way harder levels or in DMC terms "Dante must die" which makes the game harder than Dark Souls - I'm not even exaggerating.
  13. It has been on my list of games to try but somehow I still haven't gotten around to it. Believe me, I know that the story is extremely immersive because that's the first thing I always hear about the series and I'm a sucker for immersive stories.

  16. That's what I do as well. I can never recommend having a can of air enough - It makes most computer cleaning jobs more tolerable and less nerve-wracking. I'd start panicking if I never had a can of air available to clean my PC because almost anything else has the potential to ruin your machine.
  17. Who knew fitting squares together could be so - addictive! In all seriousness, I just think it is the game's simplistic nature that made it such a hard game to stop playing. It used to be crazy when the blocks started coming down at such a godly speed that you had to possess amazing reaction skills to survive.
  18. I don't know about relaxing but it gives a sense of hopelessness which is how most survivors would feel after surviving a nuclear explosion.
