You're right there! It's not going to be possible for EA to lose all its fans no matter how bad they have gotten with their franchise.

Yeah - when it comes to marketing strategy, EA is very good at that. It's what they live for and it's how they took out PES out of competition when they got the opportunity from PES slip up.
