Depends why I'm playing. If I want to cool off after a long day or something, I'd go for ease, but otherwise I'd go for skill. It's much more rewarding.
-
I've never played it, but it sounds like it's worth checking out, and I absolutely love the art, it sure is distinctive.
-
I've never heard of Alien Isolation (oops?) but it doesn't sound much my type. I don't like horror video games, they freak me out too much.
-
I'm with most of the others in this thread- it seems like a waste of money to me. However, if you're gaming for a living and game for long hours, it does make sense to invest in a rather comfortable chair.

I never played video games at this point in time, but I can't imagine having to pay for a walkthrough, though it is a fairly good marketing strategy. Did companies make a decent amount of money that way?

Oh my god. I get gaming laptops, but not too sure if a 'gaming phone' is going to be a great idea. Unless you have an absolute garbage phone, current smartphones are just fine for the games that they offer.
-
It is indeed US. We have a strange mix of incredibly liberal and incredibly conservative and the plethora of more moderate people.
-
Smartphone because it's the most accessible and I prefer the games I have on it. It goes to show how little I game on other consoles- I'm on arcade systems a couple times a year, not everyday, mind you, because the place we go in the summer has a bunch of older arcade games that I enjoy playing.

I'm not disagreeing, some people are being inclusive to a fault while others are being too conservative and unaccepting, at least in my country.

Ah, I'm non-denominational Christian. But yeah, that was when I first entered my World War II phase so I thought it'd be comedy gold to post something like that. Needless to say, I am both horrified and amused by the sheer cringe of my actions.

Minecraft servers created by Christians for Christians... I guess for a safer community? I don't even know, but it's hilarious (and mind you, I'm religious).
-
I've voted, out of the ones I voted for the ones I use the most are my smartphone, arcade, and Windows OS.

I feel like half these stories are going to involve triggered ten-year olds or Minecraft, honestly. 😂 My story revolves around the infamous Christian Minecraft server memes. One day when I had the free time I got onto a bunch of Christian servers and proceeded to troll the members there in various ways- I copy and pasted parts of the communist Manifesto, cursed up a storm... that sort of thing. It was hilarious when I ended up getting banned on one server after another.

That's a good point, and given I'm not a very competitive person in terms of gaming, any changes I may have gone through have not come to light yet. Well that's a given as a gamer 🤣
-
Basically all the games I like are games that hardcore gamers would burn me at the stake for liking. I'm still fond of Minecraft, though I don't play it obsessively like I used to and a lot of the Wii games I grew up with I still love, not particularly for the quality of the game, it's more of the memories they bring.

Again, another amazing podcast, thank you for taking your time to make it.

Fair point. Upon re-watching the video it does strike me as quite a bit more discriminatory than I originally registered. Note to self not to watch these things at midnight. However, I do think that the people complaining can be given at least a little credit- not for their behavior, but for the fact there is a lack of representation of other genders and races in many video games, films, etc. That being said it does not excuse their behavior and entertainment is getting much better at being more inclusive.
-
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's racism against whites because the whole point isn't that one race is superior to another, it's that the journalist believes that there's too many white male protagonists, but it certainly is toeing the line.
-
On one hand, I think it's fantastic that they're cutting down on sexual content. There's quite a lot of content nowadays in entertainment that displays women as objects, so it's nice to see a company acknowledging this and putting restrictions on it. On the other, I do see how it could effect Sony's desirability, but I almost feel like that makes their action all the better. Sony is most likely perfectly aware of the negative impacts and yet they're putting this in place nonetheless.

To be honest, I had never even considered World War II a game I'd ever even buy given that I assumed it wouldn't be good quality and that it would romanticize the war.
-
I can't say my motor skills have improved and my reflexes are still just as bad, unfortunately, but I do agree- through video games I've made long-lasting friendships I wouldn't have made if I didn't play the game.
-
Video games seem to get a reputation for being damaging to social skills and not helping children with anything- do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not? Have any of your skills been improved because of video games?

Welcome to the forum, Joe. Enjoy your time here!

I'm excited for Endgame, and Far From Home, but that's about it for me.

I tend to go for a support role, but it really depends on what's going on around me.
