Weather is one the most natural things that there is, so I'm having difficulty understanding why that would be considered an unnatural circumstance. Life on earth has been dealing with the weather since life on this evolved beyond single sell organisms. Animals dying because they can't survive the environment is the very epitome of natural selection.

Sorry, but I'm afraid we won't be able to help. Even if there were PS4 emulators out there, and I seriously doubt there are because Sony would be on that in an instant, we would probably have to remove such posts from the forum as there is no way the use of the ROMS for such an emulator would be legal. We simply do not allow links to pirated games on VGR. To play Bloodborne and other PS4 Exclusives on PC, the only option is the PS Now Subscription Service that can be used on both PC and console. You can sign up to a free trial then just cancel if that will give you enough time to play the games you want. As this is pretty much the only legal way to play PS4 games on a PC, I'm locking this thread to further discussion. I hope that helps.

I may have dismissed it as a summer bug or something, but two of my colleagues tested positive during the week, so it's best be safe. But oh no, I guess I'll just have to sit on my ass and play video games for next few days instead of going to work!

Well, I've been sick as a dog the last day or so with some worryingly suspect symptoms, so I've arranged a COVID test. Hopefully all will be well.

What are the most important things in a game?
Shagger replied to Euronymous53's topic in Gaming Forum
First and foremost, welcome to VGR. The most important thing for me is what I call the empowerment factor. Video games need to transport you to a place where you are more than what you are. There are many ways a game can do this. Through the character you play as, story, environment building and exploration, but the basic gameplay is what matters most. That's the players connection to the game, to the otherwise unattainable power that the game is supposed to offer you. If the game controls like shit or the user interface isn't up to snuff, all else is irrelevant really. -
And this is the same thing I've talk about before with Cyberpunk 2077. It's never a good thing when game companies announce release dates this ridiculously early. It is simply not possible that Bethesda can even be slightly sure that Starfield will be ready for launch this far from the release date. But no, we need to take in pre-orders for a year and a half before the game comes out because greed. Not to mention this is Bethesda, a company with a very poor reputation when it comes to the quality of thier games at launch already. If there is one company that really shouldn't do this it's Bethesda. I'm calling it now, this game will be delayed or launch broken, or possibly both.

These claims you make that people who call out racism are racist because, in your head, it means that those people "don't believe that minorities are capable" are unfounded and completely ridiculous. The only person who has ever implied such a possibility is you. It's YOU that putting that ridiculous theory out there. What you're basically saying is that all of us are racists except you, the one who referred to the BLM movement as looters and criminals, because we call out it out where it's engrained into society and institutionalised rather than on a personal more level. Racism isn't just calling a black guy you see see walking down the street a "ni**er" or a "monkey", it's more complex than that. But no, it's me and the others who post about this systemic, institutionalised racism are the racist because, again according to you, "we don't believe minorities can succeed in a fair world". As aforementioned, that claim is bullshit, but more to the point the racism were talking about does exist because this is NOT a fair world! It is not a world where minorities, woman, the LGBTQIA+ community, the disabled and so on are consistently given a fair chance and fair opportunities. To deny that is prejudice. An indirect form of prejudice, but prejudice none the less. The deniers, the hypocrites, the people that insist there's nothing wrong because they don't want to believe there is something wrong. Who does that remind you of? You never address any evidence put up by anyone, you just ignore it. Despite saying this this earlier in the thread; I bet you never read the link @Crazycrab provided, did you? So how dare you imply imply those claims about us. You, of all people. Not once on this forum have you ever called out racism. Every time time the subject comes up, all you've ever done is deny it that even happens, including in this very thread. You deny it exists and you try to demonise people who speak out against it. And you know what, I'm getting a little tired of it.

DLC's that were worth every single cent you paid for
Shagger replied to Patrik's topic in Gaming Forum
It's your thread, but don't see the harm in people mentioning free DLC's. -
Honestly, no. Giving up your life to save an animal (or a human) may seam heroic, but in the end it is merely foolish. Any rescuer will tell you, even when it come to rescuing humans, to not put yourself at unnecessary risk to do so. The example I'm pointing to here concerns rescuing people ,but it still makes the point and is an appropriate metaphor. At my job we have undergone training to work in confined spaces. As part of the training we have been told time and again that if you loose contact with somebody down a space, whether it be a silo, a tank, manhole or whatever, NEVER attempt to rescue them yourself. You raise the alarms and get help. Many years ago, a man collapsed in a Caisson. The two two other men tried to shout for him, but didn't get a response. First one man went down to search and rescue thier colleague, but then collapsed himself, them the another man did the same thing, also collapsed. It turns out corrosion inside the caisson had depleted all the oxygen, leaving the atmosphere unbreathable. It took the apprentice working with the men to do right thing and leave them in the caisson and get help, but it was already too late. All three of the men died. So like i said, putting you life at risk to rescue anything is more foolish that it is heroic for most part.

Like I said, I chose the articles at random for what I recognised as major news sources, I'm not in anyway responsible for what is contained therein. Nice side step on the other three, though. Why are you not mentioning those? Systemic racism is a pretty much a proven fact at this point. It is real, and you never present any evidence to contrary, you just crawl back into your bubble and deny it. Still, it is still open to opinion, and so I must admit you have point there, but I still insist your wrong. Historic racism though, that CANNOT be denied. That is literally a proven fact. It's not a belief, it's not an opinion, so what's the problem with teaching it? It's not the same as teaching religious beliefs as facts, and from my experience being educated in catholic schools, that doesn't even happen anyway. My Religious Education teacher once said "Science is the study of how things happen, Religion is the study of why things happen", and that is an accurate description of my experience. You're still trying to paint people who stand up to racism as racists and it's still just as stupid as it was before. When are you going to learn that there is a difference between calling out racism as real and accepting racism as real? Calling racism out is not being content with it, it's exposing it so it can be fought. Saying racism is real is not what makes it exist, it exists because it exists. Living in a ignorant bubble and pretending it isn't there, much like you do, doesn't make it go away. On the contrary, it only allows the problem to get worse. That's why education is so vital when it comes to stamping out prejudice. You may not like the facts, but that won't change them. That's why when a mature, intelligent person is presented with these proven facts, what they do is accept that mistakes have been made, learn exactly that those mistakes are, then move forward with better knowledge to avoid repeating those mistakes. Societies are no different. We're not perfect and likely never will be, but that doesn't meant can't be better. What's holding us back is people like you. People who just profusely deny any mistakes or imperfections we have because you don't wanna live in a world where they are real. Well guess what, I don't wanna live in that world either. I think I speak for @The Blackangel, @Reality vs Adventure, @Crazycrab and others when I say we don't want to believe racism is real either. The difference is that we acknowledge it, and thus speak out against it so that we, as a society, can learn form it. Just like how those teachers and professors want to teach others so they can learn from it so we may avoid making the same mistakes. That's what makes these bills so wrong. The goal is perpetuate ignorance so racism can continue to exist just because certain people don't like the facts. You can use your twisted, deluded logic that make people who speak out against racism as the racists all you want, do what you need to do to feel better about yourself, but it won't change how you're perceived.
-
If it is possible to actually read these bills online then I can't figure out how to to it. If anyone can, please post in the thread. However, there are articles about it. I have chosen a number of articles at random from a google search from various news sources. The Guardian Washington Post Sky News Insider Not that I think this will change anything. You still live in that little bubble were racism doesn't exist and wilfully ignore any evidence to the contrary.

Poopy is taking the red pill whilst falling down the rabbit upon entering the twilight zone. You think that's weird, you're only just getting started. I fucking love poppy though. She's as talented and creative as she is strange.

FIFA's issue of releasing the same game year after year with little more than updated team rosters and logo changes started long before 2019. FIFA 2014, for example, could release on three generations of Playstation console (PS2, PS3 and PS4) and even two generations of Playstation handheld (PS Vita and PSP) on the same day. The fact that was even technically possible to release the same game on PSP and PlayStation 4 with the same in-game engines shows just how little the game changes over time. And don't even get me started on FUT, what is beyond doubt the most sinister and disgusting monetisation system in any pay-to-play video game. In fact, most free-to-play games aren't as horrendous as FUT. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy playing it, then good for you and don't let anyone tell you shouldn't, but it just makes me sick that they get away with the crap they do year after year because people keep buying it. We can all see it, with exception of FIFA fans apparently. Even cooperate media outlets like IGN have had enough and have slammed the last couple of games on account of how lazy and greedy they are.

I was under the impression Samurai were of noble birth, sworn to service of thier bloodline and thus the only way out of service was death.

The UK born computer pioneer was being held in Barcelona awaiting extradition to the US on tax evasion charges when, as initial reports and official statements indicate, he took his own life. He was 75. Full story from The Mirror. I have never like McAfee or Norton ever. I usually remove that shit the first chance I get from any device I buy, but this story isn't about that. This was a case of a man pushed to the edge by his circumstance. Weather he was guilty of the charges he was facing or not, this is something that simply should not be allowed to happen. I'm not sure what the fallout of this is likely to be, but I'm sure the Spanish authorities are going to have to answer some difficult questions over the coming weeks. Most importantly though, life is a precious thing. Depressions and anxiety are potentially deadly and anyone who is feeling like the can't cope with whatever situation they are in, please seek help. What you're describing there is the simple reality that no game is made for everyone. A lot of people love Skyrim and others don't, and I can understand either one. I couldn't get into The Witcher 3, for example, even though the game is very much loved and even I will acknowledge it's merits, but it just didn't click with me. Skyrim sure as hell isn't perfect. The magic is horribly balanced, it had more than it's fair share of bugs at launch, many of the characters have confusing and non-sensical plot expositions and it's dialogue is often awkward, but it's a game crafted with heart and clear purpose by people that clearly loved making it. It's a great game because it's great at what it does, but what it does is not going to resonate with everyone. Marvels Avengers is different. It has flaws that aren't dismissible with personal preference. It is things it shouldn't be and isn't things it should for a superhero game. The characters don't feel very well defined from each other, the controls are over saturated and often difficult to use and the story is a bad fit for the Marvel's Avengers world. Then, there's the monetisation, it's sickening. I actually got my version as a freebie and it's plain to see why. They flat out don't need people to "buy" the game to harvest thier money, and that was clearly to goal from day one. I'm not gonna go into detail as it had been discussed on these threads on several occasions (one example here), but that isn't even the worst thing. Unlike The Witcher 3, Skyrim and other well reputed games and what defiantly separates Marvels Avengers from Crystal Dynamics' other work, especially Tomb Raider, is passion, or lack thereof. With high level employees leaving the company, a clear lack of care for quality of the DLC's and updates a pretty rocky launch for the game itself and not to mention this latest blunder, this was clearly a bread and butter job for what is generally regarded as a great developer. They didn't do better because it was clearly so hard for them to care and look at this as anything more that a soulless, 9-5 job. I don't doubt there are people working at CD who love the Avengers as much as anyone, but this game being a project that right from the start was a handover from a purely cooperate ambition would have probably sapped thier passion even more. That's why this game should have been better. It's not about personal taste, it's about it being a souless, white good with made under cooperate orders that depressed the otherwise talented people making it, and the player can really feel that whilst playing it. It's the skeleton of Tomb Raider with an Avengers paint job haphazardly slapped over the top of of it designed to appease investors who were only interested in making money. It doesn't suck because it doesn't suit my taste, it just sucks.

Like @Crazycrab said, the pirates of the Carribbean at the time were not a rabble of mindless thieves, but highly trained and disciplined sailors that were amongst the best military men of thier day. If there were the drunken rabble most fiction depicts them as, they would never have achieved the fame and notoriety that they did. The governments of Britain and Spain sent these elite sailors out there for a war that never took place. When the peace treaty was signed, these sailors were left unemployable, so many of them took to thievery to get buy. Using thier military skills to rob ships and ports to make ends meet and to take jabs at the countries that they felt had betrayed them. They were organised and knew what they were doing. That's partly why thier rulers, especially in the case of the British, hated them so much, but mostly it was because they were more than just thieves, they were traitors as well.

The monetization and overall stability of the game have been issues from day one. It's also just not that fun to play, something I can say from experience. I tried to like it, but it's just tedious and not as much fun as it should have been. It's not a terrible game, but with a talented studio like Crystal Dynamics the potential of the license, it should have been so much more.

I'm not sure I would describe TLOU as a horror game, though. There are horror elements, as well as elements of survival and it's very much narrative driven, but It's still a 3PS/Action game at it's core.
