  1. It's fairly easy to find your way around in Skyrim, the map and user interface can tell you where to go. Once you have selected a quest (or quests) from the "Quests" tab in the main menu, such as below; Markers to indicate where to go appear on the map (here's how it looks with the marked location(s) are in view); (...and if the marked location(s) are off-screen) Markers also appear on the horizontal compass at the top of the gameplay screen to show you which direction to go to reach the maker from where your character currently is. I hope that helps.
  2. A good game come late is a precious memory in the end. A bad game pushed out too early gains a reputation as a band game that's difficult to shake. So yes, it's far better to delay a game than to release it half cooked, but this dilemma can be avoided by having the common sense to not announce release dates to take in those precious pre-orders well before you can possibly know for sure if the game will actually be ready by then, and that is the problem. Game publishers these days are too keen on cashing on pre-orders to realize that announcing a game release a months and months before they can be sure when it'll be finished by said date is a stupid idea. So no, I don't have problem with game delays, but I do take issue with why the usually happen.
  3. Everyone serious enough about PC gaming to own a VR headset will have an actual PC and not a Mac, so this affects literally nobody.
  4. As far as I'm concerned, if people are posting these spoilers on YouTube and social medi, they saddled that pony and now have to ride it. They get no sympathy from me. The automatic DMCA system, especially on YouTube, is dim witted and broken and if innocent people are falling prey to it I hope the get it sorted out, but that's not Sony and ND are not blame for the broken system they have to use are are well within their rights to get these spoilers removed. Discuss the news story, that's fair, but don't actually include the spoilers, that's just common sense.
  5. Hi and welcome. Glad to have you around.
  6. @Crazycrabis right. Not everything has to have a complicated conspiracy to explain it. It's a very popular game that was always going to be a top seller.
  7. In terms of combat, there really isn't much to say. It plays like a fairly normal military FPS. The story though... well, let's just say that does NOT play like a normal military FPS.
  8. Seriously, did you just forget that you posted on this thread already? Why did you ignore the question from @The Blackangel? I'm actually convinced now that when you log into the forum you just open the "recent content" tab and post single sentence replies to all of them with little thought or care for what you actually post. Listen, post count is just a number, nobody values that over the QUALITY of one's thoughts and opinions.
  9. Developers hate physical game copies because of the consumer rights that are part of that package. One can sell, loan, trade and borrow these kinds of games in a way that just isn't possible with digital goods. So as a result, are physical game releases under threat? Yes. Game publishers don't want them any more. PC fanboys will claim there's no problem with this because they've had to live without these kinds of rights for years now and prefer to deflect how beneficial they are rather than fight for them. Physical game copies are, however, a wonderful thing and I desperately want both them and the consumer rights they bring stay forever. Video games exist in a world that evolves fast, so a transition to fully digital is pretty much inevitable, but I just hope this doesn't come at the cost of a physical buyers rights.
  10. An FPS game with rhythmic based combat and... I can't justify it with words, just watch! This may be, at least in concept, the coolest game of the year. It's DOOM, expect the awesome soundtrack is more than a bonus, it's a vital ally.
  11. Ended up buying Assassin's Creed: Rouge. In the right price range and I've never actually played it. Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. If you want to just lock this topic now @DC, feel free to do so.
  12. It looks good. Feels fresh somehow, despite the fact Vikings and Norse themes have to done to death in video games
  13. In what looks to be a gesture during the COVID-19 lockdown, Total War Shogun 2 is free on Steam until May 1st (so still available for a couple of days since this post). Pick it up here. May as well grab it while you can. The additional content has also been discounted, so you can have all the DLC content for around $10 or the equivalent.
  14. I liked the game, but man did I suck at it. I think I ended up with Two survivors in the end after making a couple of stupid mistakes. These's a number of these types of games that I would refer to as "Interactive Narratives" been getting very popular the last few years and I really enjoy them. Telltale games (Like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Batman), the Life is Strange series, Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain to name a few. They vary in styles, story genres, concepts and plot, so which one appeals to you depends on your (and your wife's) own tastes. Based on what I read in your post, I might recommend Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain and Telltale's The Walking Dead in particular, but Life is Strange is my personal favourite for me.
  15. Welcome to the forums @Voltairus, and I couldn't agree with you more. It is important it is to maintain a sense of purity for a remake, but stubbornly sticking to elements of storytelling and writing that were just make for a different time and for a different standard not only makes it less enjoyable for old fans, but can comprise the game itself and make it worse than it could have been. I recently tried the Trials of Mana Remake (You can download a demo from Steam) and my god this needed an overhaul of its story like the FF7 remake appears to have got. Because I never played the original, I can't be sure it's exactly the same, but in terms of storytelling this feels like from 1995 and for all wrong reasons. The plot is cliché, the characters are beyond stupid and set-ups pathetically predicable. It's just nowhere near the standers of a game even a few years older, never mind the standers of a game in 2020. It's such a shame because the game itself is gorgeous and the gameplay, whilst maybe a little simplistic, is enjoyable. Star Fox: Zero also fell flat on its ass in terms of storytelling because it was a re-tread of the same story from Starfox 64, which itself was a re-tread of the plot from the original Starfox. A game from 1992. That game had other even more serious problems than that, but that's a whorl other set of gripes that don't apply here. I'm not saying these remakes need to move from being Disney flicks to become Quintin Tarantino films to be taken seriously, all I'm saying that developers can honour the original characters and stories by re-telling with a writing created for a modern audience aiming for modern standards. Don't make the game that it was, make the game that it could have been if it was never made and only came out today. As far as I can tell, that's what FF7 Remake has done with its creative liberty and I like that.
  16. A mixed bag of news. Whilst TLOU 2 will now release on June 19nth, Ghost of Tsushima has been pushed back to July 17nth instead of the originally planned June 26th. Kotaku article here. This is happening almost certainly because a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee leaked the plot of TLOU2 online, so to avoid spoilers be very careful on YouTube, Reddit and social media over the next few weeks. With this leek, they're bringing TLOU2 out perhaps sooner than they were going to and pushed Ghost of Tsushima back to avoid both these games coming out in the same month causing lower sales for both and creating a logistical nightmare with both games coming out within days of each other. It's a shame that this leak happened, but I am glad to be getting a new release date game and getting it soon. Frustrating for Ghost of Tsushima fans for sure, but it's not a long delay, so I think this will not affect them too badly. EDIT: A Gamespot Article with a bit more information
  17. True, but even a good 2K is garbage when held to standards that you would expect from anyone else. The only thing that you could accredit them was they can make a good looking game, but even that standered has slipped in recent years. They're games aren't stable, they're too keen to mess around with control set up when there was nothing wrong with them and their monotisation practices are some of the worst in the industry.
  18. This is most likely a problem with the console itself, possibly overrating. If it is an original fat PS3 then it will be well over 10 years old now. Try given the vents and fans a good clean and position the console so there's plenty of space for the air to flow through it. If the problem persists then I'm afraid there isn't much you can do, this is just what can easily happen with older consoles, especially early versions of them.
  19. Welcome to the forums, but I'm a little confused. You would have called yourself "Super Sexy Sports Car", but went for "Family sedan"? It's the internet, nobody would criticize you for exaggerating lol. I kid, glad to have you here.
  20. That was literally your first post! No introduction, no "these are the games I like to play", no "this is my favourite platform", no pic's of your pets wearing human cloths because it's funny, nothing. Just sign up then immediately present us with a survey that "totally won't" find out any information useful for marketers, so what are people supposed to think? You're right, people do consider this spam and it being done with lack of tact or subtlety is exactly why.
  21. No thanks. I'll wait for Tales of Arise. You know, the actual next tales game that you don't pay on a phone.
  22. I actually got Kingdom Come: Deliverance as a freebie from EGS a few weeks ago, but still a sound suggestion. I'll certainly consider those other games. Brexit is very much happening, but It's not really affecting this kind of shit.
  23. I actually think it would more interesting to find out why a desire to play video games as a hobby has a more of a phycological interest to people than other hobbies, like building model trains, playing golf or fishing. No wait, I know, it's because these "surveys" are actually lures for info on gamers to sell us bullshit. Seriously, cut it out! You're not breaking any rules, but you're not fooling anyone either.
  24. Problem 1) Most of the FF games I'm interested in I already own. Problem 2) There ARE no FF on EGS.
