I think the point @Boblee was trying to make was to take your time and absorb the information in a post before you respond. I'm going to expand on that and recommend you also take your time as you type out your own posts to keep the typo's and grammatical errors down to a minimum as some of you posts are a little hard to read. This isn't a race.

Do you think games are too expensive nowadays?
Shagger replied to Martin Berisford's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm going to have to disagree with you a bit here because what you bought as a game back then is different to what constitutes as a game now. First, it has always been possible to get games cheaper second hand if you were smart about. That was just as true then as it is is now, so you getting a good deal on a used copy of Halo Infinite is, with all due respect, a poor example to justify the claim games are cheaper these days. I remember getting some great games dirt cheep back in the day as well by taking advantage of the second hand market. But not that everything is the same, obviously. At least where live, the price of a physical copy of a game hasn't really changed much in the last 20-30 years. If anything, they may have risen slightly, but especially with inflation I wouldn't call it such a hike that's it's worth making a fuss over. It's more or less the same. How much you actually pay for your game copy isn't the issue though, it's what you actually get for that similar price now compared to what you got back in the day. Back then, you bought a full a game at full price, simple as that. These day's, you don't get a full game for the price like you used to. What you get is a part of the full package with the rest of it cut away and sold back to you in bits via DLC, microtransactions, more expensive editions that DO cost more than the "standard" game and so on. Yes, we're not paying more money than we used to, but we're getting less for it, so considering that I would say video games are more expensive now than they ever have been, and by quite some margin. -
Sorry, I obviously mis-read the post. My mistake.

What do you mean "I don't know about anyone else", there's an entire page full of replies.

Football Manager sims are one of these types of games you need to very much into the source material. People who are will likely love it, everyone else wonders why. Because I'm not into football/soccer, I'm defiantly among the later. The one time I tried to play one of these these games years ago (I can't remember which one) my friends who were with me kept playing the game from the back seat. They kept hassling me by saying "You need to buy that player" or Sell him" or whatever the entire time, so eventually I just walked away. I know that's not the games fault, but even without the back seat players I just didn't find it fun. I get why a football/soccer enthusiast would like it, but it's really not for me.

I've actually found Netflix's hit rate to be quite high when it come to video game adaptations, certainly higher that what we've sadly come to expect from such adaptations. The Witcher (I really that really based on the book, but is clearly heavily influenced by the games as well), Castlevania and Arcane were all received very well.

I know on the PS4 you can link your Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch to upload, share and stream screenshots and video straight from the console, I've used it before. I don't own a PS5, but as far as I can see, you can do the same thing from the PS5 and it looks like a very similar feature. More details from Sony here. The Spotify feature is also still there, but as far as I can tell the instructions on how to implement it differ per region, so you will have to check with your local instruction. Here's the UK and US instructions for reference. As for Discord on PS5, the short answer is you can't. PlayStation don't allow the app to be installed most likely to direct people to thier own in-built chat service PlayStation Party Chat instead. There is a workaround I found from tech site Alphr.com involving the use of the PS5's browser to access Discord, but honestly if you want to use Discord to chat with people while playing PlayStation games, I would just Discord on a separate mobile device or computer instead with a one sided earpiece connected to said device so you can still hear the TV. EDIT: Now that that's been said, I'd like this thread to get back on track please. This is an Xbox thread, not a PlayStation thread after all.

I fixed the double post for you. Back on topic, I was under the impression the game was already shut down back in April. I know that the articles both you and I found didn't mention the specific date, but I found this on the Forza Wikipedia Page. Plus, I can't actually find the game on the Play Store nor the Microsoft Store (Somebody else will have to confirm this for the Apple Store as I don't own any i-Crap), so I'm quite ready to believe it's gone.

What I'm about to post is a case study in why people should look into information that people post on VGR before replying. Not only is it essential to adequately respond to a point given by somebody else, it can even be dangerous not to. For starters @Clasher and @Heatman, that car is meant to look like a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, so it's not a Chevy nor a Mustang. It's literally written in the image to the left of the "Muscle Modern" logo. Second, that image is lifted from a game is called Forza Street, and again it's right there in the image. The game was an officially licenced Forza spin off for mobile that launched back in 2019 and was shut down almost a month ago (April 11nth). So outside of unofficial emulation, that game doesn't technically exist anymore. If you had looked into this properly and payed attention to the what information was posted, this would have saved some confusion. Now @Justin11, you made your post about "Forza Horizon highway 4" , and that is literally how the games title is written on it's official listing on the Google Play Store, without the "H" in Highway capitalised, earlier in the thread about a week after the actual, official Forza game on mobile was shut down. Here it is on Google Play. So here it is, with 50,000+ downloads, no user reviews and no ratings. Add that to the weird description that claims to allow users to play 3 main, full Forza games in one place (Those game names were clearly there to generate more search hits), the aforementioned bad formatting on the title (And in the description), the fact that the all four images of the "game" are the same image of an old Suberu Impreza that I don't think is even from a video game, and this is very dodgy. I also checked out the contact email address listed on this very store page it it didn't yield any results. That is really unusual as one would expect such a search to come back with a webpage or social media profile representing the developer/publisher of the game. But no, this was what looks like a randomly generated g-mail account that doesn't seem attached to anything. This is clearly not legitimate, so anyone who had downloaded this game, I'd recommend removing it immediately. Now @Clasher, I can understand how you manged to get a screenshot from an entirely different game, especially if you searched for the "Official Forza Mobile Game" or something to that effect, but you replied to this conversion clearly without looking into the subject matter properly. I suggest you apply due diligence in future. They are several reasons to get the facts right when you look into things for a forum thread, avoiding potentially harmful software is just one of the bigger ones. Now @Justin11, since I don't trust this so-called "game" and thus am unwilling to download it onto my own phone, I want to tell me what it is and why you have brought it up here on VGR. Send me what you know in a PM. Include screenshots of the actual game if you have them, but DO NOT open it again for my sake. Delete it. It could be malware, ransomware or a phishing scam. It is possible you mistook this for an official Forza mobile game, and if so, I again would recommend you delete it from your devices immediately and would recommend greater vigilance in future for yourself as well. This kind of false advertising and fake products are a common thing in the mobile market. I urge people to use thier good sense and not trust anything that looks out of place. I also urge everyone to look into what people are posting about in detail. They may not be deliberately trying to bring you on board to a scam, but it is possible they were fooled themselves. Do not put up links or promote software unless it's from a source you trust. As mods', it's our responsibility to make sure that people on VGR remain safe. If that means we don't trust software that you do, then that's our prerogative. If you have doubts, bring the names of games or links you want to post to us first and well assist in any way we can to verify them. I hope you have all learned something from this.

A greedy, insidious mess of pay-to-win lootboxes and predatory monetisation. It may even be the most horrid example of the implementation of such systems that we have ever seen in a game of this type. Activation-Blizzard (who I will refer to from now on as cock noses) released thier very much not anticipated "free-to-play" (a term I use very loosely indeed) addition to the Diablo franchise on Android, iOS and PC on June 2nd to a rousing chorus of "Yes, this is shit, like we expected". The only thing that the cock noses suppressed me with is just how bad it is. Youtuber Bellular News breaks this down in detail, here's his video. I'll also link Jim Stephanie Sterling's video as that was how I was first made aware of this. This is also very much worth a watch. I would ask you to please watch both videos before commenting. I know that means not being able to make 5 posts in the next 10 minutes, but I not going to tolerate anyone making a stupid point or asking a stupid question because they obviously couldn't be bothered watch the clips or read this post in it's entirety. You have been warned. Full details in the videos as aforementioned, but here is the basics. Using the games deliberately convoluted and complex system involving buying premium currency's, crafting and using the systems that involve of a use of gameplay (You do have to actually play the game to earn the rewards you pay for, so a small glimmer of good from the cock noses in this sea of shit.) the using that premium currency to access certain rewards and areas of the game, it has been estimated that it would cost a minimum of $100,000 to max out a character in Diablo Immortal. I promise you, that is not a misprint, $100,000. It has also been estimated that to achieve the same without paying would take 10 years of play. No hours, not days, not weeks or even months. Years. The cock noses were booed at Blizzcon 2018 over this game, and that was before they were exposed over the harassment and sexual misconduct that had been plaguing the company, so we knew back then what this going to be. So obviously, I didn't care about this game from minute one, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. The cock noses clearly built these microtransactions into the same so integrally that they pulled the plug on the games release in countries like the Netherlands and Belgium where lootboxes are banned. They obviously couldn't remove them, there a vital part of the game to point where I'd say they are literally what the game if for, the game exists for them. So anyone who planned to play the "It's Optional" card, I'm telling you before you even begin you're wrong. If they microtransactions were optional, why couldn't they remove them then release the game in these countries like EA did with FIFA? That's right, the cock noses are worse than EA, that's how bad it is. The only sign that the cock noses listened to the fans is the fact the game did release of PC as well, but means very little when the game is such an insult. How do you feel about all of this?

I'm into some old PC games from the 90s/early 2000's like Dungeon Keeper. C&C Red Alert 2, Decent, Magic carpet 2 and the Wing commander series. Some of them are a bit of a challenge to get to run properly on modern hardware, but it's a labour of love.

Welcome to VGR. Sounds like you have a nice family. Anything you want to know about VGR, please ask me.

Yesterday I stated playing Wolfenstein: New Order and Tales of Arise on NG+. They will probably keep me occupied for a while. I'm just glad I finally got my damn controller working on Tales of Arise, that was a nightmare to fix.

Is it wise to spend money on free to play games?
Shagger replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming Forum
Given the fact I've never even heard of "Shopify" until now, I wouldn't say it's going that well. -
To be fair, it was @Jasmin that first brought it up, but that doesn't mean that @Heatman had to respond in a such a way to keep the conversation going. So @Jasmin and @Heatman, done here, but try to stick to the topic at hand.

Is it wise to spend money on free to play games?
Shagger replied to kingpotato's topic in Gaming Forum
If have to pay to continue playing that's not a free game, that's a demo. It's really annoying when game companies gave thier games misleading titles and tags. Just call it like it is, it's not like they're gonna fool anyone for long. -
Exactly. He accepted a pittance for the licence because he had no faith the game adaptation would be successful. Before the games, hardly anyone outside of Poland had even heard about the novels. Now, "The Witcher" is a household name that even spawned a TV show. His books sold hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of copies that would never have sold if it wasn't for the games booting the franchise's popularity. And how does he thank CDPR? By suing them! If he had even a shred of respect for video games as a medium and the fans, his fans, who play them, he wouldn't have been in that situation. I don't care how good his work is, the man is a dick and he has nobody to blame for loosing out on the game's success other then himself. It's a shame CDPR had to reach a settlement with him, he didn't deserve any more money.

Remasters that were worse than the originals
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
You get some unique weapons and armour from that chest you described, but they're low level and don't remain powerful once you get past a certain point in the game. The original Kingdoms of Amalur ran perfectly fine on my laptop, it was the remaster that had issues. I went into more detail in the review I linked, but suffice to say it was an issue with the game'fs resource management of PC hardware that caused the problem. It didn't happen with every hardware set up and I believe the problem was fixed eventually, that's probably why you had no issues. All I can do is tell what why my experience was like. -
in a move that is becoming typical for you, that being not reading what people are posting before constructing a reply, a very apparent and utterly annoying habit for "Post Farmers" as of late, the whole point I tried to make is that Andrzej Sapkowski should NOT be recognised nor admired for his "role" in games industry despite his involvement with The Witcher. I then compared that to George R. R. Martin given that the man has done next to nothing for the game's industry apart from co-write one, single game. Seriously, what is wrong with you? If you can't show people the bare minimum of respect by actually reading and understanding what they post before you reply, then get off this forum. Both as a member and a mod', I have had enough of this. Consider this as a final warning. From this point on, these mistakes are not an accident, they are acts of wilful ignorance that will not be tolerated any longer. Confirm via PM that you understand before making another reply in this forum or I WILL revoke your right to post on this forum. EDIT: Your reply was also written terribly, another sign you don't care.

I'm not going to question anyone's admiration for George R.R. Martin, if that's how you feel then that's how you feel and I'm not going to disrespect that viewpoint from anyone, gut I genuinely do not get where that is coming from. In his entire life, his resume in the game industry reads he co-wrote one game, and that is literally it. And that was a game that only just released in that last few months. Game of Thrones and the books it's based on have no connection to any video game at all. Honestly, that admiration could be placed at the feet of Andrzej Sapkowski (Author of The Witcher series) and it would as much sense, and that's a man who has publicly disrespected video games as medium. True, Gorge R.R. Martin hasn't done that, but he has himself admitted he has no personal relationship with video games and could count the amount he has played on one hand. Sorry @Aniekwe and @Heatman, but it doesn't make sense to admire this man for his "contribution" to video games.

If the OP @Prof elohstar is happy with that, I will.

Remasters that were worse than the originals
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I honestly don't see anything wrong with redesigns of the character models on FFX Remastered, in anything I think they look closer to how they look on the games cut scenes, so I'd call it an improvement. -
What are you talking about? It IS android compatible. You can use a single account to play the game cross-platform between mobile, consoles and PC. I know this because I have literally done exactly that.

Are certain games better in online play, or story mode?
Shagger replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
None of that changes the fact that people can and do pay money for an advantage in FUT over other players. Buy buying more packs than you can just naturally earn by playing the game, you increase your chances of getting higher value, rarer and more advantageous player cards to build you ultimate team with. That makes it pay-to-win. This is disgusting in a free-to-play game, but on a franchise that demands at least full AAA price year after year (and you have to buy the game year after year as your FUT progress is re-set each time the new game comes out, another bullshit move from EA), it is despicable. I'm glad you find it amusing, somebody should, but personally it makes me feel sick.
