I was thinking the same thing. Maybe there's another layer to the joke that I'm not in on, but "May the 4th Be With You" is defiantly a Star Wars thing.

That post from @Heatman was nothing but him repeating what others had already said. It added absolutely nothing. Others like myself, @Yaramaki, @kingpotato and especially @Crazycrab actually went into detail about the games, but that's the comment you decide is worth praising? That's the one you compliment? Sorry, but that's kind of messed up. I'd like to remind you both that it was because of you two that I started this thread in the first place. As I explained in the OP, I was responding the this in the Dirt Rally thread; And when many members provide a lot of unique and detailed insight, this is your response. Like I said, it's kind of messed up guys.

Do you play video games together with your children/relatives?
Shagger replied to Justin11's topic in Gaming Forum
That's enough. This is yet another thread has just dissolved into chat between the useful suspects going round in loops. Locked. -
Have you been playing any attention? If you weren't so focused on just making as many posts as possible (You're still doing these bursts of dozens of one sentence posts in period of less than hour) and actually take some time to read what everyone has said, you would know that NFT's are a con. Know that they are a scam. You seem to approve of these things, but I don't ever recall seeing you explain why. Maybe because that would take a post longer than two sentences and we're not worth that effort. But regardless of the reason, I'm actually asking you now. If you genuinely think NFT's are good thing, please explain why.

Why are open world games buggier than linear games?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think @Darth and @Crazycrab have more or less covered it. There's larger environments to render and more processes happening in the background such as NPC and enemy activity and more objects to interact with. These games also tend to use hardware differently and tend to be heavy on CPU dependant processes like AI, pathfinding, NPC activity and rendering objects off-screen. These are things one would usually associate more with open worlds and they will test hardware in ways liner games don't. Because of all these processes and the way they utilise hardware it makes them more complex to program, so inevitably they get more bugs and glitches. Bugs are also harder to find with larger area's and more objects to interact with. It's unfortunate, but inevitable that game developers can't spend the time and money to find every bug, especially with how big these games get these days. -
Kids are turning to video games to help with their anxiety
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Of course, each individual will have thier own methods and things that work better than others. I can totally see why video games could be a great help for some, I just don't like the idea that somebody could say "people who are depressed should do this", that's all. Everybody is different and only professionals should be the ones who advise people on this sort of thing. Lie I said in my post, I though the study was stupid because video games are a hobby and obviously the right hobby for the fight person is of great importance when it comes to metal health, but that doesn't grant video games and additional power to help more that others. -
I personally can't see Abby and Ellie uniting for a common goal, at least no right away, there's too much anger and bitterness between . Something major would have to happen in the game to bring those two together. I can sort of of picture a scenario similar to what @m76 has described, but honestly I'm reluctant to even speculate because the franchise is not built of what people want, it's meant to have an impact, be unforgiving and harsh, much like the games setting. If the horrid behaviour of people with regard to The last of Us Part II proved anything, it's that fans are not ones to listen too.

Consistent armor/weapon/combat style choices you make across games?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I usually go with a rouge set with a bit of magic, but I also like to focus on a character's ability to craft and improve weapons and armour. In most games you can manufacture better gear that what you'll find laying around with the right skills, perks and so on. In shooters, I always value accuracy and single shot power over a high rate of fire. Attack at longer range and save ammo. -
I was unaware of this, thanks for sharing.

I just can't get over how stupid the "open world" concept in Burnout Paradise was. It turned the simple idea of selecting your game mode into something akin to trying to force an unwilling, filthy dog into a bath. I hated it.

The "But my friend jumped off the cliff" defence is not going to work here. I can see you were baited in, but it was your choice to bite. If you can't help yourself and can only reply, do so via a PM, that's what the system is there for. I've seen how this goes, the same people baiting each other in then before we know it were 16 pages in with you lot lot looping around the same points over and over. All I'm telling you to do is stop it, yet you decide to debate that instruction instead. Consider this your final warning now, stop it.

OK, this is getting ridiculous. What on earth has Cyberpunk 2077, it's patches and it's current state got to do with Dirt Rally 2.0? You, @egghead, @Boblee and @Justin11 are going to stop this, now. If you want to talk about Cyberpunk 2077 or whatever else that's totally irrelevant to the topic, do it somewhere else. I am right on the verge of starting to delete posts that could be deemed as "post farming". Consider that a warning.

What does simply stating that add? Have you experienced it? How does it feel? Does it make a major difference? Just stating a simple fact adds noting to the conversation. I'm really looking forward to trying that feature out myself, from what I've heard it looks amazing, but without trying it I can't form an opinion about it yet. That's why I've said nothing about it. You're not wrong or anything, you even doubted yourself, so why not "google" to make sure what you were right first? I know why, because that's more effort than the VGR forum deserves. Because I like to put effort and purpose into what I post, here is a video on adaptive triggers and haptic feedback on PS5.

This is a bit random, but I'm curious, and also seeking to find out if I'm a little bit mad. When a video game offers you the chance to name specific armour, weapons or equipment (like in The Elder Scrolls, for example), do you have a pattern? I always like to name my equipment after artists, song or albums I like. For example, I'll name a bow "Primo Victoria" named for the Sabaton song/album of the same name. It's Latin for "First Victory", so for me it fits. For the same reason I also like to call armoured footwear "Sabaton" because that's what a "Sabaton" is. I've also named a sword "Lovebites" for the Japanese all-female power metal band, a bow "Unleash The Archers" again for the band of the same name and a mace "Archangel" in tribute to the Amaranthe song bearing the name. What influence do to you draw from for inspiration?
-
Really? That's it? No thoughts, no feelings, no mention of what specific songs you listened to or if you even liked what you heard? Seriously, what was the point of that? You may as well have said "I ate pasta". If you don't have a point or anything to contribute, why post? Since I like to stay on topic almost as mc as I like metal, here's some more metal. I find myself in a power metal sort of mood, so;

I feel like that one can catch people out. You're going up against something that can clearly dish out more damage that you can out, so I totally get how smarter player might get tricked into making that battle longer than it has to by attempting a strategy of some sort and getting killed because it.
-
Fair enough. It just wasn't made very clear. Anyway... If I can be game specific, using a potion (or potions) in the fight against Sinspawn Ammes in FFX (the tentacle that only casts ""Demi" throughout the fight) even though it actually can't kill you. It's the very first boss of the game during the "tutorial" part. Demi reduces the party's current health, not maximum health by 1/4 each time, so each hit with it does less and less damage. Even if your HP is a 4, it'll just bring it down to 3. I'm sure the first time I played this game I panicked when my health was down below half after like 3 hits and healed myself, and of course that only makes Demi do more damage.

To me, the Foresworn are just bandits, expect they live in squalor, completely off there heads and fight half naked... To me, the Foresworn are just bandits.

I'm not gonna deny it, that is really good, but when it comes to rap themed around games, you have to start with Dan Bull;

OK... so... where do we go from here? What eastly is the topic?

I love the percentage completed feature in PS5
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm stopping you both there, because I see where this is going to go. You had already gone of topic and are now starting to to just play of each other towards a realm of pointless, irrelevant chatter. If you want to keep this going, do so via PM's please. -
Have games ever inspired/influenced you with something you create?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm sorry, but what exactly was the point in that comment? All you you really did there was state the oblivious. @The Blackangel had established her story was medieval in theme and was influenced by The Legend of Zelda for @Boblee to them recognise and enquire about the similarity between that medieval theme and The Witcher. Good for you that you recognise that The Witcher and The Legend of Zelda have a medieval themes, but guess what, we all recognise that The Witcher and The Legend of Zelda have a medieval themes! If fact it's pretty damn obvious! It's like if somebody said they like cheese on toast somewhere and your reply was; Sorry to bust your balls, but to be brutally honest that comment was completely pointless and stupid to boot. It's also the perfect example of posting anything just to post something. Nobody who cares about what they are posting would have posted that. Stop posting for numbers, that's not what being active means on VGR. -
I've always liked Caleb Hyles, but even by his own standards this fantastic.

Yes it is! 8pm! The best new blended whisky out of India! Right there with you David Tennant. As Scotsman, we are morally obligated to have doubts about this. Back onto the topic of beer, my netter half's father left something after a recent visit that's kind of interesting; (somebody, somewhere had to come up with this as an idea...)

Unpopular Opinion: All games should have a difficulty slider
Shagger replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
Your right. When a game basically forces you to try-die over and over, it does get tedious, even a bit boring.
