  1. The reason why the mod team have been brought to the end of our patience with you is not about you opinions, it's about the deflective and aggravating manner in which you choose to debate. You do everything to duck and dodge other people's arguments and viewpoints. Derailing threads in the hope to distract people from what has been said, creating new topics about the same thing to avoid addressing other people's questions and now this. Accusing the mod team of "threatening to ban you" for arguing your point and using that as you excuse to not address the points @The Blackangel made. If you had actually addressed what she said instead of making this bullshit excuse, that would have been fine. Instead you did the exact same thing that we have warned you about time and time again. And while you were at it, personally question the ethics of the mod team. I really don't know if we can keep this up any longer. I'll have to have a conversation with @The Blackangel and @DC and discuss your future, because you clearly are not listening.
  2. I don't understand why any gamer with even a slither of common sense would buy this nonsense. Quite frankly @skyfire, @Head_Hunter and others who actually believe this should be ashamed. No only has science spent, or perhaps wasted, many decades and even more $millions on trying to link violent behaviour and video games together only to fail time and time again, you can't even see what the real purpose these bullshit claims are suppose to serve. It's scapegoating. Counting of people's stupidity to deny real problems they don't want to address. For example, this is a particularly popular scapegoat in America because politicians over thier don't want to believe that the high rate of homicide and violence have anything to do with the fact that anyone can get thier hands on a gun. They know it would political suicide to open up that can of worms, so instead they blame not just video games, but entertainment media and "the corrupted youth" that partake in it instead. They present these non-facts to the gullible, ignorant parts of society that want to led away from the problems because they don't want to believe the inconvenient truth either. Seriously what is wrong with those of you that actually believe this? As @Crazycrab pointed out, none of you present any proof, but just choose to believe this bullshit anyway? All you need is the ability to think for yourselves to see how ridiculous this is. Nobody on this forum is that stupid that they can at least do that.
  3. Would it be OK if I suddenly decided to violently hate you?
  4. This semi-conductor shortage is long reaching nightmare. I was at a job interview this past week with an engineering firm that manufactures refuse and recycling collection vehicles. OK, dumpster trucks and bin lorries, but this place was struggling to acquire components to meet orders for the same reason games consoles and PC component manufactures are struggling.
  5. When a game is exclusive to PC, It falls under one of three categories; An RTS game like Total War or Cid Meier's Civilisation that wouldn't really work on console because of the type of control interface they use. Utterly rubbish, asset flips, shovel ware or even malware that nobody, including PC, gamers want nor take seriously. That's vast majority. It goes the way of Strardew Valley or Divinity and gets released on console later anyway because it wasn't the utter trash 90% of the "exclusive" games that PC has. Like the PC platform itself served like quality control. I know how this makes me look, but there is no game you can only play on PC that's worth buying into the platform for A problem compounded by the fact PC is so much more expensive and troublesome to invest in to begin with,. Sorry, but that is the truth. With the aforementioned expectations within the RTS and some MMO's, PC does not have it's own equivalent of The Last of Us or Zelda, nothing to boast about.
  6. Don't worry, there's nothing worse than being normal. Coming form you, that just enhances the compliment.
  7. I have observed bots logged in on the forum before without interacting with anything or posting anything. I suppose this is at least what some of them were doing. If they don't post anything, they know we'll likely do nothing about them. Clever, but since no living person seems to paying this forum any mind, It hasn't really helped them much. What waste of time. Us going to the forum to see all this today is probably the most traffic they've ever had. You may as well etch your company logo onto a dog turd for the worth thier ad-space is worth, what's the point in any of this?
  8. Technically, that doesn't count. Both the video games and the TV show are based on the same series of books. Some of the aesthetic interpretations from the game inspired the look of the show, but that's about as far as it goes.
  9. It's not dumb at all On the contrary, it takes a keen eye to acknowledge just how important that is. To me, that makes a game's environment feel more real, lived in, rather than just part of the background. It adds flesh to the skeleton and is essential in a game like LiS to help immerse you in the story. The connection between the player and the environment needs to be done differently in a game LiS as the environment in itself is more inert than in an action game. This something that every LiS game has done exceptionally well.
  10. This has been a long time coming. Game publishers, especially the major ones and console manufactures, with good reason see more befit into just doing thier own announcements and streaming events. It's better for us as well I'd say. Publishers building thier development schedules and announcement time frames around ES is archaic these days and only causes problems.
  11. Thanks for the information. I'll try to get in touch with that website's editor and let him/her know what's going on.
  12. If all that they are doing is plagiarizing the forum as I suspect, then I don't believe there is much to say legally. Plagiarizing VGR's articles and journalism would be very different matter. Like I said in the other thread, I suspect that there are just trying to make thier forum look active when it isn't. It's pathetic, really, but given that almost none of thier threads have any replies, it obviously isn't working.
  13. It is hysterical. I would consider contacting the website itself, but it's pretty clear to me they know exactly what they are doing. It appears they are at least not plagiarizing the journalism side (articles) of VGR as far as I can tell, but I suggest that @DC have look himself just in case, it is just the forum they're tipping off.
  14. If people do want to discuss this plagiarism further, start a tread to do so, but on this thread it's time to get back on topic.
  15. I've looked into this forum. This plagiarism has clearly been going for quite some time. here are some of the examples I've found, including one from a moderator at this forum that copied ME two years ago. For a start, this very thread on VGR has been staight up copied on iGamingNews https://www.igamesnews.com/forum/threads/boss-fights-that-are-more-like-puzzles.64149/ iGamingnews https://www.igamesnews.com/forum/threads/generic-vs-name-brand-food-drink-products.63692/ On VGR https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/14029-generic-vs-name-brand-fooddrink-products Somebody even copied the member of "VGR Member of the Month" thread without removing the VGR reference. On iGamingnews https://www.igamesnews.com/forum/threads/vgr-member-of-the-month-march-2022.64182/#post-64443 And here's the thread going way back that I wrote, so I know the VGR thread is the original. Not how only the text was copied, not the hyperlinks nor the videos, so this was copied and pasted to iGamingNews, not the other way round, otherwise the post on iGamingnews wouldn't look like this. This from a moderator as well, as aforementioned. On iGamingNews https://www.igamesnews.com/forum/threads/angry-joe-vargas-accused-of-sexual-harassment.7934/ On VGR https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/7612-angry-joe-vargas-accused-of-sexual-harassment/ These are but a few examples of hundreds, maybe thousands posts come from serval different members and it's clear posts have been getting copied from us for quite some time. Maybe this is just how this "forum" operates, but copying our threads to make thier forum look more active than it really is. I even found one thread that was a copy of the thread title, but then the topic itself was just a link to the thread copied on VGR. https://www.igamesnews.com/forum/threads/the-legend-of-karen-chapter-4.64025/ So yeah, this is pathetic.
  16. You are wrong. No human being is born hating other people just because of the colour of their skin or ethnic origins. Racism stems from a lack of good education, intolerance, cultural ignorance and manipulation. It can totally be avoided.
  17. I didn't even know GTAIV had an online multiplayer. Well, you learn something new everyday. I guess Rockstar didn't push it as hard as they did with GTAV, none of those juicy microtransactions to use to exploit people with. Back to the topic, I can't actually think of any game I bought new but couldn't play right away with the expectation of No Man's Sky. I'd like to think that's the case because such things are so rare, but honestly I think I just got really lucky.
  18. Back in the 90's, Tournament Fighters existed that took refence from all sorts of things. There were the same, really, just clones of Street Fighter 2 Turbo with the skins of other licenced characters, but that also made a lot of them half decent. Now that I think of it, it's kind of a shame that doesn't really happen anymore.
  19. Honestly, you are not one of the people that come to mind. No reason to be so hard on yourself.
  20. Do you know how many posts you have made on this thread? Well, I'll show you. That's 43, in case you lost count. You felt compelled to tell the VGR forum that played FIFA on no less than 11 occasions, for example. And to cap it all off, what did you post just today? Good to know! You're playing FIFA22! Because there's no way we could have realized that. Needles to say, this is ridiculous. If anyone needs a better example of what I'm on about in this thread here when I talk about posting anything just to post something, then this is it. @Head_Hunter, you clearly could not care less about what you post, just so long it's something. It's a post. It counts. Well, good for you, but this in not what being active on VGR means. It's not just you of course, there are others who treat these these like a text chain for themselves and thier friends I personally will not allow this madness to continue any longer. This thread is locked.
  21. This is another example posting in a blitz. Not only is the post itself grammatically all over the place and clearly not typed with much care, it's not actually got anything to with the topic at hand. I'm glad you decided to not get into P2E games, but posts this off wouldn't happen if somebody was interested in saying something valuable rather than saying anything at all. Stop, take moment, and think.
  22. And the same thing to everyone else. If @Jayson brings up something provocative, but has nothing to do with the topic at hand, it is an attempt to distract you and derail a thread because he hasn't got the balls to actually face other people's points head on. It's cowardly and trolling. If he does that again in this, or any other thread, ignore him, repot him and, like I said @Jayson... I. PROMICE. TROUBLE. Is everyone clear?
  23. This is just another example of you ducking and diving to avoid the good points others have made so can pretend they aren't there. I am not going to waste any more of my time explaining to you why I'm not prepared to put with this anymore. Instead, I am going to make this very simple. Stay on topic, or I promise trouble. Is that clear enough?
  24. Personally, I don't see a difference, If a story has an emotional impact then it has an emotional impact. It doesn't matter what medium they use to tell it, be it game, movie, TV show or book.
