Sadly, I'm not exactly shocked by this. It was inevitable, but I also didn't think it would get this bad this quickly Jim and Alanah in particular have been through enough shit over the years in thier respective internet career's and Caddy is such a nice dude and doesn't deserve this bullshit one bit.

I believe you're referring to "The I.T. Crowd", but The Office was originally a British sitcom starring Ricky Gervais. The American show staring Steve Carell is an American version and remake. So if there's an equivalent show to "The Office" in Britain, it would be "The Office".

Who the hell cares? Whether you're a fan of the show or not, it is not the sort of thing that would translate into a video game very well. It being free-to-play on mobile just multiplies the crap factor. Honestly, I don't even know why we're even discussing it at all.

What are your craziest gaming predictions for the next half century?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Haven't said it yet, so PlayStation Brain Chip. -
I love Troy's work (Especially as Joel in TLOU), but what the hell was he thinking with this? These two video's from YongYea and ReviewTechUSA cover the story in detail, but basically this company Voiceverse NFT made a deal with Troy Baker to sell an NFT of his voice and not only did Try agree, he endorsed it on his own social media with a god awful statement. Anybody remember season 2 of 24? Spoiler alert, but men representing oil interests made a fake recording of a terrorist meeting with officials for various countries to implicate those countries in a terrorism plot in the hope of starting a war. They did this through a guy that developed software that could make a person's voice say anything using just a sample of that persons voice. That used to be fiction, but now it's a true story just waiting to happen. That 24 example may be extreme, but anyone wo thinks that selling voice NFT's won't lead to some very nefarious use of someone's voice to implicate someone or try to ruin thier reputation is naïve. This has already gone too far. There is nothing about this that is good. It's bad for upcoming voice actors, jeopardises the quality and care of future game voice overs and is a risk for voice over actors to get involved with. It's bad, simple as that. Shame on you, Troy. Still love you man, but you really didn't think this through, either that or you saw many 0's and didn't care for the implications that this might, and probably will, have on yourself and smaller voice actors as well, or you didn't care.

I don't know why, but Amazon Prime Gaming kind of flew under my radar, but it looks like good value. Amazon offers with the prime memberships a pretty large selection of PC, console and mobile Games and in-game content at no additional cost, similar to services like Free Games with Epic, Xbox Live Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus that are updated on VGR currently. If people want a thread to cover this (like the ones I've linked) above or any other similar service out there, let me know, but in the meantime this is what Amazon are offering right now, and it's a decent selection.

Take some solace in the fact that woman age like a fine wine. Men age like beer that's been sitting out. Happy Birthday!

What video game developer do you wish had never closed?

Bullfrog. I loved what they put out. Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital and Magic Carpet defined my early-mid teen, then they EA'd out of existence. -
My friend wants a YouTube channel devoted to model trains...
Shagger replied to Knight Plug's topic in Technology & Gadgets
I think you could have been kinder to your friend. Doing YouTube to "get somewhere" or make it a career is the wrong reason to do it. The reason to do it is to share your passion for something. If it ends up becoming successful, then all the better, but nobody should be discouraged from trying just because the odds of success are so slim. I watch plenty of content of YouTube that isn't flash and made of a big budget. It can work so long as the content and the personality is there, and if your friend wants to share his passion for model trains and discuss them online, then I say more power to him. -

Two Point Hospital is a good one. A spiritual successor to Bullfrog's classic Theme Hospital. It's a management game with good humour and a comical art style, surprisingly challenging as well.

My experience with Nioh (F*** GAMES THAT DON'T PAUSE!)
Shagger replied to Shagger's topic in Video Games
Some games, like Remnant and Monster Hunter, do have online components that necessitate the game world itself being sustained in real time. Not that it isn't annoying in those games as well at times, bit I can least understand why it's necessary. But for single player games , there is no excuse for this. And before anyone says anything, that thing Demon's Souls dose with messages from other players left behind by thier "ghosts" doesn't count. Firstly, it doesn't work because people just post whatever they want, even complete lies about what's ahead, and it is indistinguishable from the truth, rendering the mechanic completely pointless. Secondly, those "ghosts" loop in and loop out of the game periodically, there is no interaction with any players sustained, live world in thier own game. It's actually more similar to how the pawns worked in Dragon's Dogma. The difference is (Well, one of several, chief among witch being that pawns actually HELP you) that those ghosts only appear when the other player is actually logged in online, whereas in Dragon's Dogma the data is loaded from the other players save data. You can have that feature in DS, and still allow the game to pause, just like in Dragon's Dogma. -
What is your all-time favorite piece of music from any video game?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Music
I think this topic makes more sense in the "Music" sub-forum. So, ill move it there for now but if people feel this is a gaming topic, I'll move it back. -
Do you prefer noise or silence on pause menus?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Silence every time. What if the reason your pausing the is so you can answer the phone, talk to someone or answer the door? Games that pause, but don't silence while paused are actually something of a peeve of mine. I get what you're saying about ambient atmosphere, but pausing isn't a gameplay element, it's a quality of life feature with one function and that function is singular and obvious. There's no real point in a game keeping the music or some other sound playing to keep the player immersed because the only reason one ever pauses a game is because something in the real world need their attention and takes priority in that moment. The door, a phone, needing to visit the bathroom, getting hungry or whatever. So the immersion has already been interrupted by whatever you needed to pause for in the first place. That immersion will only come back when that person has dealt with whatever issue that necessitated the pause, settled down and is now ready to give the game thier full attention again. -
Are there any game companies you actively boycott?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I wouldn't call it a full on boycott, but I have been avoiding buying games from Ubisoft and Activision/Blizzard recently. DLC, microtransactions, NFT's and bad releases are insignificant to companies that are guilty of having thier employees work in the kind of abusive culture that these two have had, and pretty much still have. -
I really am starting to tire of your attempts to insult the intelligence of the people who post on this forum. No only is all of that completely untrue, you're trying to muddle reality, clearly in the efforts to make you more straightforward, but misguided views more palatable. For your sake, I hope that's what you're doing because the only alternative that makes sense is that you don't really have a clue what you're talking about. Either, it's not going to work. First of, it's very clear what "progressives" are as a social/political stance. It's people who believe in a progressive society. They believe that a society advances and best evolves through change rather than relying of older values. There not referred to as "regressives", that is really fucking stupid to say as that is literally the exact opposite. It's also not accurate nor fair to label them as "SJWs" or "Wokists" because there liberal extremes. It's like saying all Muslims are terrorists, which is obviously ridiculous. But of course, you'll paint everyone with liberal or progressive views with the same brush because that's what you, as someone so determined to push your own social/political ideology onto this forum, do. Sorry mate, but whilst you may be used to people who would fall at such propaganda and manipulation, we are not that stupid. And that is what really annoys me about you. You come on this forum wanting us to be stupid, counting on us be be impressionable. What your doing here is wrong. It's morally questionable, it's lies whether you know that or not and it's insulting to this community that you think we are only here to soak up whatever you have to say, and how dare we question it. That's why you can't handle people disagreeing with you on your views, isn't it? For you it's not about personal, but optional, vindication of what you believe, for you it's the goal. The whole purpose of being here. When you don't get it (and let's face it, it's rare that you do), that's a failure on you part. However, you can't look at yourself and think "Maybe it's me that's wrong?", your overly inflated ego would never allow that. So you last out, accuse people of "attacking" you when all they're doing is challenging your opinions. Newsflash, that's what forums are for! Me and others, like @Reality vs Adventure bring up you older posts and past behaviour like we do because you never learn from it. That has been personally frustrating to me since even your early days on VGR. I've said it before, I think you're a smart guy, but nobody, no matter how intelligent or knowledgeable they are, is ready to teach anyone anything unless they themselves are first able to learn. People offering vindication on what you say and especially how you feel are nice things, but if your not enough without them, trust me when I tell you you will not be enough with them. Ask yourself, are you here willing and able to learn? It partake of knowledge as will as impart it. If the answer is no, then I'm sorry, but I must inform you that you came here for the wrong reasons and I think you're wasting your time.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel going to be worth it?
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I've only got so far into it, but I like what I've seen of it so far. As some people on this forum may be aware, I am NOT a fan of Soul's games, but a lot of the really annoying things that I have seen in Souls games and thankfully missing. You can pause and there is actually multiple difficulty options. Like I said, I only just started playing and can't say how frustrating the combat might get, but the combat does feel slow like a Souls game. I probably wouldn't have bothered with Fallen Order if wasn't on EA play that I ca access through my Gamepass subscription, but even if, like me, you are not a fan of Souls games in general, it might be worth a try. -
I don't want a ridiculously long story, I simply want a good one. There is no way the Dying Light 2's (made a small edit to this threads title) campaign can be that long without a stupid amount of padding.

One the lik in copied to the clipboard, all you have to do is open a new post on the forum then press Ctrl-V on your keyboard to paste it into your post. That's it.

Once it is copied to the clipboard, all you have to do is press Ctrl+C simultaneously to paste it. On mobile, the pate option should be in a drop down menu if you hold on the text box. What device are you using?

This website automatically recognises YouTube URL's and embeds them automatically. You shouldn't be trying to use BB code or trying to clip and drag anything. Literally just copy the URL of the YouTube video directly into your post, it will work.

There is some logic to be found in what you said @Crazycrab, but that doesn't change the fact the Bismarck may be the only ship in history that has testicles, and there is nothing that anyone can say that will make that not weird. @The Blackangel, it's just as likely those kingdoms were rules by a, you know, king? I don't know, I think @Crazycrab had point. The world is used to it, but if one actually stops and thinks about it, the thing about ships being female is a bit strange. The Bismarck being the only one with a dangle is just even stranger.
-
Well, they don't. At least not exclusives. There are plenty of games that were on PS3, but they're almost entirely multiplatform titles.
-
Well, that's what Steam is. Pretty much all games on PC are sold digitally these days. You just don't get physical copies of games on PC anymore.

Whether the glitches be many or few, there is no excuse for FIFA to have them at all. When they basically put out last years game with the bare minimum of changes the absolute bottom line, the minimum to expect is for the game to function properly. You can't forgive glitches in a FIFA like one might in a big, open world game that's been developed from scratch. There is no excuse for EA to release FIFA or Madden year on year in a state that's anything less than perfect.
