I've bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition and so thusly jumping into this iconic franchise for the first time. I don't really know why I've never played this game until now, it just sort of passed me by. I don't really regret that though because this new version offers some superb value with the original trilogy and all of thier combined DLC content in one convenient package. Shows that even EA can get shit right on occasion, but the fact there is 40 DLC's across these three games in the first place does bring me back to reality somewhat 😆. Still, really enjoyed the first few hours so far, although navigating the Citadel (if I'm getting that right) is a bit of a pain. What do you think of this version of the game, what hints and tip can you offer and what do you think of the franchise in general?

Accessibility options for games is something far to few developers take into account. Obviously given the multimedia nature of the medium there's a very limited amount that can be done for people with severe impairments with their vision and/or hearing, but some games do offer options to help people with things like colour blindness and some peripherals have been developed to aid people with one hand, for example. What can be done is limited, but I will always come down in the side of accessibility. Epilepsy and seizures are very rare, but they can happen, and it's something that's once again engrained into the nature of medium itself, so there's not really anything that can be done about it. If one knows they're prone to fits, then they play at thier own risk. I know that sounds harsh, but it's the truth. This talk about people with mental health issues "not being catered for" l think is complete nonsense. As serious as these problems can be, I could easily make a plausible case that video games can be helpful to people in such circumstances. We don't all play games for the same reasons, but that doesn't change what games themselves offer. We take games as they are. If we don't like them or if there's an indigenous issue that means we can't play them (outside the aforementioned accessibility), we move on to something else. That's the thing when you make a game, you can't make it to suit everyone.

Yesterday, I got my second dose of the pfizer COVID vaccine. I had my fist dose little under two months ago. Back then, I ended up taking time of work because of flu-like symptoms, light headedness and pains in my arm. It was 2-3 weeks later that I actually caught COVID itself and was, thusly, in isolation. Truthfully, I didn't feel as ill then as I did with my reaction to the vaccine, but that's just my bad luck, and my spout with COVID could perhaps have been a lot worse it I didn't get that vaccine. Fast forward to this morning, and holy shit, it was even worse than last time. I could barley even move my arm, was dizzy and disorientated shivering like a cold cartoon. It's gotten slightly better as the day has gone on, but I can honestly say there is no point in the last 16 hours where I felt better than I did with COVID, not even close. At least in my experience, the cure has literally been worse than the disease. Do I regret it though? Not for a second. I personally know nobody who has had it worse when it comes to side effects to the CODID vaccine than myself and I still stand firm of the side to get vaccinated. I'll still stand by that everyone should get vaccinated. It's the right thing to do for yourself, your loved ones and the world as a whole in these difficult times. I just hope this wears of quickly. Stay safe, everyone.

This sounds like a topic discussing deals in real life. Is it that what this is or is it in games?

You've done nothing wrong by sharing that, I assure you. -

On occasion I'll buy second hand console games. It's a pity that isn't really possible on PC as it's very much a digital only platform these days, but that's what it is. -
What's the one game you always return to?
Shagger replied to Martin Berisford's topic in Gaming Forum
Skyrim. It can still feel so fresh and fun to play, especially with mods -
Yes, purification of water is doable, but the amount of energy it takes makes the process uneconomical on a large scale. It usually takes the form filtering then distillation. Distillation isn't difficult, it's a simple process of boiling contaminated water, catching the water vapour then allowing said vapour to cool. The cooled vapour is now pure water with no contamination. It works, but trying to do it on the kind of scale you're referring to is very difficult. The equipment necessary would be expensive and one would need a fuel source to boil the water, which is costly and would have a large environmental impact.

I think I found the monitor LINK. I wish you had mentioned that earlier, though. That image is most likely a graphic somebody designed to look like a game. It's common for companies to do that as it looks better to have an image on the screen rather than just leaving it blank. Sometimes the images are that of an actual game, (like here) but most of the time it isn't because there would have to be some kind deal worked out between a game's publisher and the company making the monitor in order to do that. In short, using an image from an actual game wouldn't be legal. So if it were a real game, the image would clearly tell you what the game is, call it a form of advertisement. Sorry, but you've wasted your time. It's almost certain that game doesn't exist.

I've tried my best, but I can't figure it out. A racing game on mobile featuring bikes doesn't do much to narrow it down.

Honestly, I thought what me and @m76 were having was a discussion. I don't understand why he has to take everything so much to heart. -
PC series that you want to show up on console?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Modern PC's and consoles are actually very similar in terms of thier software and hardware architecture, it's not that difficult to make a game for one then port it to another. I'm not saying it's easy either, but it's more than possible. PC's are a more versatile utility, but that has nothing to do with porting games. What bothers me about the statement you and @m76 are making is that's hypocritical. You can't say that PC's should have exclusives and consoles shouldn't, that's a very bias, almost fanboy like mentality. Either you're for exclusives in gaming, or you're not, there is no halfway. If I were to say "Consoles should have exclusives but PC's shouldn't" I'd get ripped apart, and that's exactly what I would deserve because it's hypocritical. Personally, I understand why people get frustrated with exclusives, but I also get why they exist, especially on console. So, I'm on the fence, I'm not completely sure how I feel about them, but I do know that picking and choosing what platforms should and shouldn't have exclusives doesn't make any sense at all. -
This is a small thing, but it is a nuisance. At least on the PC browser, when you hold your cursor over a users name, you get a preview of thier profile with a number quick access options. A great idea, but the problem is the mini window looks cropped and doesn't actually show everything. Is this the same for everyone or is it just me?

You can't say "I think all console exclusives should be on PC, but PC exclusives shouldn't be on console". You can't have it both ways, either you for exclusives or you're not. -

Victim? I was unaware I was even being attacked. You just said a lot more about what you're trying to do here, because I'm not trying to fight. Besides, with the heart of the topic being "where do you buy your games" (Your words. It actually isn't really the case, but we'll go with it anyway.), it makes perfect sense for people to say "I buy my games from x". That is literally answering the question, so you excusing this strange defensive stance you've taken over this with that excuse not only makes me question you intent in this discussion, but also how smart you actually are. Stop treating every question or comment that comes your way like it's a gun shot. This is a forum. Discussion and debate is what it's all about. It's not my fault if you can't handle it. Back on topic. It's simple really. I'll obviously try and get a game at a discount if I can, but I'll pay full price for something I really want. -

Without you stating what sources you're referring to it's difficult to full understand exactly what you're talking about. I can't be blamed for you being vague. -
I'm not suggesting people not game on mobile just because I don't it seriously, I'm just presenting them with what is likely an unfortunate truth. It's insane to say, but a games console is signifacly cheaper than a top end phone these days. The cheapest deals I see for the Rog 2, for example, still hover around £500. Given the significant quality difference (and there is one, don't lie to yourself) a console is a better place to game on. Yes, with subscriptions and the cost of games in general, it's more expensive really, but it is that much better. Not there good games on mobile, but finding them is like trying to pick out edible chunks of carrot out of a septic tank. The vast majority of developers on mobile, including the dev's of games you yourself mentioned earlier, make FPT games that depend of a large player base for success. If mobile dev's make games that mean to get the most out of phones like the ROG 2 then they are, quite frankly, stupid. These phones are impressive, don't get me wrong, they are not the problem. The problem with phones as a gaming platform is the unsolicited, low standard that both dev's and the public have come to accept from the platform. Mobile games stand line an ant compared to consoles and PC when it comes to standards in gaming. Your best game on mobile would probably sit among your worst on console or PC. And that's before I even get how greedy and despicable mobile games tend to be when it comes to monetisation and business practices. Mobile gaming is crap. The only reason you would have something like a ROG phone is to play games, and I for one am not paying £500 to play crap.

True ,but they have to sell games at a lower cost because that's the only way they people will be tempted to buy from them. There's a risk to such sellers, so there has be be an incentive. It's not done out of good will. Personally, I'd rather spend $60 than risk $40 or $50. -
OK. I'm a gamer. I play games a lot on "real" devices like PC and console. I can play Fortnight (if I wanted to because that' a FTP fad and totally belongs in the pathetic realm of mobile games), Battle Royal Games (a very poor argument for mobile games because, again, that really is a freemium fad all of it's own) and Final Fantasy (I've only seen a number of older FF games and some horrible FPT crap disgracing the name available on mobile, many of which cost a premium, so you've got some work to do convince me that I need a phone with such hardware to run them).Given how much this, and similar, products are geared toward gamers, please complete the following sentence; "I as a serious gamer need something like the ROG 2 phone in my life because..."
-
I'm sorry, but I just can't see the point in phones like this. Mobile games aren't very taxing on hardware. They can't be because no developer of a game for mobile games would limit the player base by designing a game that way. It's not like the PC market whare a person having hardware limitations that won't let new games run effectively is something that is accepted. If a PC gamer finds themself in that situation, it's upgrade the pc and then buy the game later. Upgrading a phone often isn't as easy as that because of the abundance of contracts. Also with the vast majority of games on mobile being freemium, these devs will want thier game to be available to as many people as possible. Likewise customers with even semi decent phone or tablet will expect any game they download to work as they aren't responsible for the hardware, unlike pc owners. In short, why buy a phone like this when a mid-range smartphone will be able to play the same game? People don't (or imo, at least shouldn't) take mobile games that seriously.
