I'm going to lock this topic, but before I do I want to make it clear to @Heatman that you have done nothing wrong. I'm locking the thread because having this thread here open to new replies is an invite for some very bad traffic. Spammers and scammers will be lead to this like shifty lawyers chasing ambulances leaving an industrial accident. Putting it simply, having this thread open is an invite for trouble.

Besides, there is only one right way to approach this idea, and that is don't do it all.

Whether you're buying or selling, don't do it. As a buyer, it's too easy to get scammed by having your newly purchased account just locked off from you by the seller thanks to things like two step notification. As a seller (doing this honestly), it could expose very sensitive information about yourself to people who shouldn't be trusted with anything. For example, you would have to surrender control of the email account you used to set up the gaming account. And then there's the point that every gaming account service would count such a transaction as a violation of thier TOS, making it very likely that the account being sold will banned before long, landing the victem of the scam, becasue it is a scam, into potentially a lot of trouble.

I'm trying to be kind @Heatman, but meerly bringing this topic up without the caveat of "This is a terrible idea, don't do it" is very concerning. So given how you don't seem to undertand just how bad and dangerous an idea this is, I must tell you to not discuss this again.

And if it wasn't clear to everyone else, don't buy or sell gaming accounts under any circomstances. Thread locked.

What aggravates me about these kind of lawsuits and legal cases whare entertainment media is blamed for somebody's heinous actions in real life is the complete and utter failure it represents to address the real, root causes of such incidents.  People are doomed to die in future incidents as a result.

Whilst America's well documented issue with gun culture is certainly a factor, so I do think weapon manufactures have to held accountable, it is obviously nonsense to suggest any entertainment media, whether it's a video game, movie, music, or book, is any way responsible for the real life actions of a person.  Human beings have sentience, the power to imagine and fantasize, it's inherent in all of us.  We also have the ability to recognizes the difference between fantasy and reality as a part of that sentience.  If a person does not have the ability to recognise the difference between reality and fantasy, then there is a problem with that person's mind. They are mentally ill.  It has nothing to do with with a video game.

Bungie has won its court battle against cheat and mod site, AimJunkies.
As reported by journalist Stephen Totilo, AimJunkies, aka Phoenix Digital, was instructed to pay the Destiny 2 developer $63,210 in damages – that's the revenue the company is thought to have earned selling the cheats – setting a new precedent in what's thought to be the first lawsuit wherein a jury has ruled on a game-cheating case.

Shagger got a reaction from Bilita in Activision opens up new studio called Elsewhere Entertainment
Yes they did, more specifically Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog Games, and Roundhouse Games.  I'd like to think due to the timing that Activision folded those studios into this new studio so those people are still employed, but given how this new studio boasts talent from Naughty Dog, Ubisoft and CDPR, that doesn't seem to be the case.  It looks to me that those four relatively small studios have had the shutters drawn on them to fund this new studio, which is pretty appalling on Activation's part.  Not that I'm surprised, Activision are a bucket of scum.

The silver lining is that the focus of this new studio Elsewhere Entertainment will be on narrative games instead of the "live service" snake oil major publishers have been so desperately peddling the last few years.  I'm sure Elsewhere Entertainment will make good games, but there will always be a bitter aftertaste to them.  Like a baby with a birth defect, you love it all the same, but always regret it had to begin the way it did.

Shagger got a reaction from DC in Big Discounts on some Steam games!
I'm going to post the guidelines and go through them point by point to help you better understand the purpose and what the policy is asking you to do.   The TL;DR is these rules are ion place too prevent spam, phishing scams and unpermitted promotional posts and affiliate post.

Fairly self explanatory for most part.  This is a gaming forum, we don't want people telling us great deals on car insurance or power tools, it's not what this forum is about.

It's a common spam tactic to post a link to "this game I just happened to find and I'm TOTALLY not associated with" on Steam and other platforms whether it's discounted or not.  This helps root such posts out.  Besides, the sub-forum is called "Video Game Deals", there no place in it for games at full price.

This part is obviously involves a judgment call on the part of both the one posting the deal and moderation team.  You might trust a seller that I don't and vice versa, so it's your responsibility to choose your seller wisely and justify that choice if requested by one of the mod team.  In this case, your deals are on Steam, something that is obviously a trusted seller, so this isn't relevant in this case, but it's worth remembering.

On top of the aforementioned reason of only wanting discounted video games talked about here, having a format to follow make spam posts more easily spotted as they tend to be copy-pasted from a generic text. This format also just helps posts remain accurate and people can have all the information they need and not get confused if they click on a link to a discounted game after the deal has ended to go to a game that's full price.  That's why it's YOUR responsibility to include and end date date for the deal in you post. The images you posted do not show when these deals end, you have to mention it.

This is the part whare you have gotten a little confused.  We WANT you to include links to the deals, it's kind of necessary, what we don't want is people posting misleading and/or dangerous links.  I'm going to do a mock post of the Planet Coaster deal you mentioned to show you what I'm on about.  You don't have to format you post on video game deals exactly like this, just consider this a guide.

    Hi VGR.

Just saw this discount on Planet Coaster on Steam and wanted to share it.

There is nothing wrong with including an image to show the offer.  It's actually a good idea as it helps prove the offer's legitimacy and shows a lot of additional information.  The image I have used I sniped from the game's sore page on the desktop app.  That's a good place to take the shot from as the end date of the offer is actually displayed, so that base is now covered along with the item, the sale price and what website/store the offer is available on.  You'll notice I still list those things anyway because it's a good habit.

As you can see, the is a 95% discount on Steam running until the 30th of May 2024 (I highly recommend writing out an end date full like this including the year as somebody might come across this the years after it was posted and cause confusion. Use of a numbered date numbered date can also cause confusion as some counties format it differently than others.)  bringing a £29.99 game down to £1.49 (Show the price as you see it on your local store page, let others worry about currency conversions.  If you wish to show the price in another currency as a courtesy you can, I often do as I live outside the US, but don't consider it necessary.).  Find the game on offer at this link:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/493340/Planet_Coaster/ (This is the kind of link that IS allowed.  The bare link that has not been shortened or hidden so the person reading can see it's genuine)
This is a hyperlink.  This tool is accessible in the tool tab above the text box by clicking on the icon highlighted in the image below.  If you click on this, you'll find it still goes to the Steam store page for Planet Coaster, but it can be used to hide the destination URL, so these are NOT permitted in this sub-forum for security reasons. They are free to use elsewhere on the forum. (Shortened URL's like this one I generated that also goes to the Planet Coaster store page https://shorturl.at/KHXqj are also banned for the same reason, but unlike hyperlinks are not welcome anywhere on the forum.)

To summarize: (This is something I like to do just to make sure I hit all the points)
This is for the game Planet Coaster This deal is on Steam at the link provided https://store.steampowered.com/app/493340/Planet_Coaster/ The game is on offer at £1.49 instead of the usual £29.99 The Deal is on at the time of this posting and runs until the 30th of May (You may have noticed I didn't include the "required" start date.  That's because the Steam page doesn't list it.  Saying this can help get around that problem, but if there is no start date for the offer, you don't need to include it.  Just be sure the deal has been made available at the time you post about it.  However, for the reasons I explained earlier, the end date must be included.)

This last part is fairly self explanatory. This policy of the these rules and guidelines being subject to change without notice applied both here and for our Overall Forum Rules and Guidelines, so try to remember to check in on these rules from time to time.

I hope that clears everything up.

I did a little homework, and I think the issue was "The Spacer's Choice Edition", what was to the The Outer Worlds was the Special Edition was to Skyrim, an updated version with the DLC included and better visuals.  According to  user reviews, it was badly optimised on both PC and console with little to no improvement in the visuals with some claiming it actually looked worse than the original.  I guess I just wasn't paying attention when all of this was going on.

Shagger got a reaction from Knight Plug in Resident Evil could be remade again...
I do think that these early RE games needed a serious revamp to appeal to modern audiences.  Back then the solution to make the games tense and desperate through the controls were born, at least in part, out of the limitations of the technology of the time.  In other words, I do not fully agree with you @Knight Plug on Capcom's motivation for remastering these games.  What additions and omissions that have happened to these remasters I feel are born out of a genuine motive to modernise them whilst still trying to maintain the atmosphere.

Having said that, It's been 9 years (Correct me if I'm wrong) since RE1 was remastered.  Whilst that wasn't exactly yesterday, a modern revamp of the original Resident Evil does seem kind of unnecessary. I would much rather see Code Veronica X get the treatment that have it happen to RE1 again because I feel that game was made by a capcom that wanted to modernise Resident Evil but didn't have a clear focus on how to do it.  I go into to this in more detail on this thread, but here's the relevant part of that post again:

I genuinely feel that with a Code Veronica X remaster Capcom could pull a Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and bring us the game it was always meant to be. Again correct me if I'm wrong, but that game IS Leon's origin in the RE universe, so with how popular RE4 is I suspect there would be a lot of interest in that.  But hey, what to I know.

I feel like the reason Sony has decided to do this is to stop players who were previously banned from the game for whatever reason on one platform from re-joining the game on the other.  Given the game is cross platform, I can actually understand this at least to some extent.  So whilst I think there was no ill intent, Sony have clearly not thought this through.  The fact this might effectively bar people from playing the game because PSN is not available in all countries whare Steam is available a huge oversight.  If this was always the plan, they should have shown people the big, flashing sign with the siren saying "You WILL eventually need to link a PSN account to your Steam account to keep playing" before people bought the game.  That's the part that really bothers me.

There's nothing righteous about keeping up a religious schedule.  It's, well, just that, keeping up schedule. It's a routine. Just because somebody surrenders a hour or so of one day a week to listen to some deluded zealot read from a story book doesn't make them better than other people.  It means they can set an alarm and get up before 9am on a Sunday and that's about it.

I've said if before in this topic and I'll say it again, religion is for people who want to relinquish responsibility for how they behave, what they say and even how they think and feel to something else.  It's for the weak minded who can't be bothered to establish a moral compass of thier own.  I'm not saying the practicing religion makes one evil.  On the contrary, most religious scripture promotes a positive way to live and treat other people with love and respect, all I'm saying is that it doesn't automatically make people good either.

Having said that, religion is not innocuous.  It's archaic and open to twisted interpretations that people use to justify heinous acts, attitudes and behaviour that anyone with a moral compass that they themselves developed through reason, logic, experience even thier own mistakes would find completely deplorable.  But like I said, religion is for people who want to relinquish responsibility for how they behave, what they say and even how they think and feel to something else, even if that includes rape and murder.

I've always been sceptical of game that try and take a single mechanic and expand it into being the whole game.  In this case, it's the crafting/gathering mechanics that are in lots of MMO's.  However, I do find myself more optimistic with this one.  It may not be the most complicated game in the world, but I like it's style and that roots in-game success in cooperation, unlike other survival MMO's that are beacon calling all ass-holes.  This is one worth keeping an eye on.

I think this is some sort of issue with the game. I've come across stories of similar control issues on both PS3 and PS4. If you haven't done so, try reinstalling the game and, if possible (I don't know if the PS3 is still supported like this) make sure the game and system software is up[ to date.

Could you please tell me what platform you playing this on and what controller this is? I just want to do a little troubleshooting as I've had a lot of experience with 3rd party controllers and know that there can be solutions to these issues that don't involve having to buy a new controller. On the contrary, I find that that doesn't really work on most occasions.

I bought FFX multiple times because, for reason, the disk for that particular PS2 game kept going wrong. Other PS2 disks got damaged from time to time and needed replacing, but nothing like as often as FFX did. I also bought the remaster for both PC and console, so count those and I must have bought the game on 5 or 6 separate occasions.

Then there some of the usual suspects that launched again and again on new hardware with new updates like Skyrim, but I think my buy count for that sits at 4, which isn't bad.

Shagger got a reaction from Knight Plug in Resident Evil 9 could be open-world?
Personally, I'm a long way from convinced this would work.  A player approaches an open world with ambition and a keenness to explore, not with the kind of apprehension and dread that one would associate with horror. Horror is told very much through the environment and that environment is meant to make you feel trapped and desperate.  An open world is all about empowerment and opportunity. It's meant to make the player feel important and powerful, not what one want's to feel in horror game.

To me, this more likely to work if Capcom focused less on the horror in this open world Resident Evil game and for the game to be like the more action orientated games in the series, like 4.  The obvious problem with that is that at least a significant portion of the fanbase would be put off by that after seen some great horror games and remasters from the series in recent years.  A Resident Evil open world has another more indigenous problem.  Unlike other companies like Ubisoft or Bethesda, Capcom isn't exactly known for it's open worlds.  When they have given it a go, it's been to mixed success. Sorry, but I do see Capcom making a mess of it, especially if they do try to squeeze the square block that is survival-horror into the round hole of an open world.

A game based of Felix the Cat? That very early cartoon from the 1920's? Releasing a game based of Felix the Cat makes even less sence now than it did in the 80's. At least there was a movie that came out around that time. It was crap, but at least it existed. Seriously, who asked for this?

The permice of Felix the Cat is that Felix has a magic bag he can morph into anything he wants. That's a cool concept for a video game, it really is. If one wanted to make a video game based off that, why not make something new? Use the modern tools and modern know-how how to help this concept reach it's full potential? Think about that, think about how the game hasn't seen any noticeable enhancements and think about that ridiculous price and you will probably come to the same conclusion I did. This is a lazy cash grab. Some lazy ass hat has somehow acquired this IP and seeks to make a quick and easy quid out of it.

It does look like decent game for it's time, but it obviously hasn't been remebered otherwise more people would know about it. If it had no impact then, there is no reason to expect it to have an impact now. This just isn't worth even the low effort that has been out into it.
