First of, here is the full event itself in case you haven't seen it.

Now there's allot to get through, so with no a due, let's begin
Things actually start badly with one of the most pointless announcements ever. Grand Theft Auto V will be a launch title for the PS5 and that's FUCKING STUPID!!! That's three generations of console that this game will be released on now. I don't care that PS5 owners will get GTA Online for free when the console launches, nobody buys a next gen console to play a game they were playing two console generations ago. Nobody wanted this and even less of us need it.This is just another attempt by Take Two and Rockstar to create a false tally of this game's sales numbers, like they've been doing for years. Fuck off with this ridiculous nonsense.
Gladdy, we quickly move onto something we did want, a sequel to Insomnic's brilliant Spiderman game. Spiderman Miles Morales. It's fair to expect great things from this and I'm sure it won't disappoint and this will sell consoles.

Next, and it has been a while for this franchise, Gran Turismo 7. As you would expect, it's epically impressive with its graphics and a real showcase for the PS5 and what it can do. Fans will be glad to see this game back.

Another big exclusive PlayStation IP with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. This will be a fun romp as R and C always is, but this one looks great and I get the feeling this one may be more complex and challenging that the previous game. What do you think?

Enough now of stuff we've seen before, time for something new. Project Athia  is a new and exclusive IP published by Square Enix for the PS5 and this looks very promising to me. Difficult to tell at this point what this game is really all about, but I like what I see. One to watch.

Next, Stray. As far as I can tell, you play as a stray cat in a  world populated buy robots instead of humans. Yeah, a bit trippy this one.

And the trippy continues with Returnal. Basically a lost astronaut having a groundhog day. Not sure how I feel about this one, I'll need to see more gameplay before I can make my mind up.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a game that does not need to exist. This needlepointed little turd didn't need his own game when we already have Little Bid Planet. I suppose the line up needed a kid friendly couch co-op game, I get that, but this is not for me. A new Knack would have been better.

Ever wanted to play Rocket League, but instead of trying to score goals, it's a Demolition Derby where you smash your opponents up and try to run them over? Exactly! I didn't know I need this in my life either! I think I'm gonna like Destruction Allstars.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits looks right up my ally. I think I need to see more gameplay, but I like what I see. I love its art style and atmosphere. It'll need a strong story and solid gameplay to come together, but I hope it can deliver the goods.

This next one I'm really struggling to know what to say. I'm saying Goodbye Volcano High will be a rubbish game, but I do think this is a rubbish trailer. I can't tell much of anything about it other that it's a world of sentient dinosaur people and it's set in a high school. Honestly, not hyped.

This next one is more exiting, if you're not me. Oddworld Soulstorm. That means two things, we are getting a new Oddworld game and it has a silly name. Never really been a big fan of Oddworld, but I get why others would be hyped.

Ghostwire Tokyo. Now THIS looks fucking cool.

Next is Jett the Far Shore. Now I admit, this trailer defeats me, I have no idea whats going on. So, all I can suggest is watch it and make your own mind up.

Godfall was revealed at another digital Playstation event several months ago. Now, we have actual gameplay to feast our eyes on. Getting a bit of a Warframe crossed with Dark Souls kind of vibe. Looks promising, until you realize it's published by Gearbox. So yeah, take it with bucket of salt.

Solar Ash is a pretty game. A unique vibrant, colourful style and interesting character models. Don't know if this will be fun to play though, time will tell.

Hitman III. Well, not much more to say, it is what it is. I don't see this one letting the fans down and it looks superb.

The next trailer is the new 2K NBA game, so nobody cares.

Ketamine, Crystal Meth, Cocaine, Alcohol, Cannabis, Heroine and Speed. Those are just some of the drugs they were on when they came up with Bugsnax.

It's confirmed, Demon's Souls Remastered. Some of you may know that I have burning HATRED for this game, but I know that it has its fans who'll be, well, I was about to be pleased but the fanbase of this game is made up of arrogant, miserable pricks who are incapable of love, so who knows. Still, good for them, but I'll be avoiding this one.

Strangely, another groundhog day like thing going on here with Deathloop, but the feels very different to Returnal. Very suave, mysterious, brooding style. This kind of reminds m of Dishonoured, and I think it might even be the same studio, so that's a promising sign.

Resident Evil VIII: Village. Enough said.

This teaser for Pragmata leaves more questions than answers. I suppose that is the point, though. Anyway, an interesting concept, but I'll wait for more info. The game won't be out until 2022, so there's time to learn more.

Now the big one, at least for me. At last, they have confirmed the sequel to one of my favourite games, Horizon: Zero Dawn. Sorry if I fanboy out a little here, but Horizon Forbidden West is the reason to own a PS5. The trailer is great too. Looks like Sylens is coming back as a villain, it seems Aloy is going to interact with the environment in a more dynamic way, especially underwater, that pissed of looking giant metal turtle, this is awesome! For this game, I will be buying a PS5.

Then finally, the moment we were all waiting for, the reveal of the console itself. The best looking video game console in my as always humble opinion was the original mark one Sega Megarive/Genesis, the critical word in that sentence being "was". It's so futuristic and sleek, it wouldn't out of place spraying water in a courtyard outside of a fancy cooperate headquarters. The two-tone colour, the asymmetry, it's a stunning looking thing. Sorry XBox, but I don't think there's even a contest here. When it comes to hardware atheistics, Sony has you beat. I can't say I'm surprised to see a version of the console that's digital only, but I am relieved there's a version with a disk tray as well.

But that's just my opinion, what do you guys think? And what did you think of the presentation overall? I think this was a great showing from Sony and PlayStation. Lots of great games shown and a long awaited console reveal that did not disappoint.

    EDIT: You know what, I think it might look even better lying flat;

The problem with the Wii is that it's not 4rth best-selling home console of all time, it's the worlds best-selling dust collector. Parents bought it for family to enjoy at parties, then it spends the rest of life in a cupboard somewhere. It's a level of casual only appeal that makes mobile gaming look like Dungeons and Dragons. Everyone bought the console, but nobody played it, and if need to I can even prove it. You see, I've doing some maths, and based on sales totals of every game that sold 1 millions units or more for the Wii, the average Wii owner owned less than four games for the system, and that includes Wii Sports, a game that bundled with every console outside of Japan. People call it a success, but just wasn't.

Shagger got a reaction from StaceyPowers in What side do you prefer in the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC?
Vampires are sentient and in full control of their impulses in this game as far as I can tell. Because of that, you can't fully blame their actions on instinct or a beastly nature alone, there is a conscience making their act's of violence a choice. The Vigilants of Stendarr and the Dawngaurd, whilst justified in their level of hatred for Vampires, I don't think are justified in their reasons why. Yes, Vampires murder, but it seems the Vigilants reasons are more religious than moral and that makes me think that's what's really getting in the way and forcing vampires to live as hunters and vagrants.
No, a Vampires actions in this game cannot be justified, but can they be explained by the fact that this society has left them with no choice? There're humans in the game just as, if not more brutal, merciless and senseless in their violent actions. The Dawnguard are doing the right thing by trying to eradicate the threat, but I can't help but feel there's an even better option that neither side would be willing to accept
For the game, I feel the path in support of the Vampire is more interesting, but that's just me.

When one gets hyped up and exited about something, it's setting yourself up to either meet your hopes or a letdown. It's physiologically very difficult to be overly impressed by something you were exited for. So, to be honest, I can't of a game that really did that. Before the Internet, there was very little to go on to build expectations at all, so I could use games like Zelda: OOT, Mario 64 or something like that because they really did make my draw drop and say "WOW", but that would honestly be cheating because I wasn't really in a place to have any real expectations at all. I think modern games journalism and social media has spoiled us, we just learn too much about upcoming titles to be that surprised any more.

Still, there is a game that does fit the pattern for me.

This gem form Ninja Theory turned into an exception to the afore stated "spoiled by media" rule because there is no trailer or review that could really prepare you for this game. It's the most psychologically uncomfortable experience I have ever had in media, and that is it's brilliance.

You play as Senua, a Celtic warrior suffering from severe psychosis and schizophrenia who delves literally into the Viking Hel in search of the soul of her dead lover... or is it all in her head? And yes, she carries HIS head with her.

First note, play the game. Second note, wear a decent headset or set of headphones when you do. The game uses an advance form of stereo audio that, when you wear headphones, you literally feel the voices in her head. It's terrifying, but appropriate to make you understand what people in these situations go through. They actually partnered with and supported a number of mental health charities and mental health experts to make this experience as real, but respectful and informative as possible. This clearly meant a lot to the developers as seen about a year after the game out. A lot of games celebrate their acclaim with an "Accolades" trailer to show some of the awards the game has received. Well, despite winning a lot of awards, let's just say the normal "Accolades" trailer wasn't what they had decided on...

Back to the game, It's beautiful. One of the best looking games over the last few years. Very dark, very grim in style, but also incredibly detailed. When you consider this was made on a very limited budget, that means something. Speaking of low budget, the starring voice over role, and voice over award winner that year for this role, was Melina Juergens (Also nominated was Ashley Burch for her role as Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn and Kiefer Sutherland for his role as Snake in MGS5... think about that for a moment.) and holy shit she deserves it. But who is she? A voice actress starting out, a drama student they could hire inexpensively, a non-union actor? No. She is in fact, the video editor for Ninja Theory's (Developer) public relations department. I'm not kidding, she was an in-house screen test they decided to keep, and why not, she was fantastic. They even went to the lengths to redesign the character model to suit her motion capture and physique.

The story is compelling, I've never felt for a character more. She's a desperate, tortured, yet fiercely determined and intelligent soul. Her goal is simple, but not simple to achieve and you're right there with her. It's almost as if you're not role-playing as her, but one of those voices in her head, encouraging her and willing her own instead of some the others that are, well, more doubtful.

In terms of gameplay, her mental ill health actually serves the mechanics. Between combat sections, that are simple, but satisfying and daunting whilst offering a fair challenge, the game is mostly broken up by puzzle sections where Senua see's patters, shapes and solutions that most people wouldn't see. It's unique, clever and very well researched. It may only be 8 hours of gameplay with little replay value, but that was reflected in the price. Even new it was half the cost of a brand-new AAA game. Still, it's 8 hours you'll never forget and everyone becomes better for it. There is another thing that piles on the pressure in combat and very brave choice the developers made. A permadeath. Die to many times and/or to quick in succession, and you have to start all over again. I'll just let that dangle there...

If you haven't yet, play this game. If you don't want to? Play it anyway. You need it even more than you know.

    Just.....
I don't know how to respond. That game, is so much more than a game. For those of us with those psychological issues, it's a chance for people without to see what we face on a daily basis. I'm schizophrenic, bi-polar, depression, and anxiety issues just to name the ones I can remember. I have no short term memory, and little long term memory. I don't know where I was 10 minutes ago. And after I post this response, I will most likely forget that I posted it.
But all in all, I want to say thank you. Rest assured, something will be pawned tomorrow to get the money for this game.

I remember when MITB was first introduced. I always loved seeing who won it. Also I remember the best use of it. John Cena had just win the championship from Big Show, and was completely spent. Who wouldn’t be after giving a 500 pound man a suplex? He was try to build his strength up to get off the mat, when Edge came running down the aisle and cashed in the MITB. He speared Cena and pinned him to steal the belt. Cena was champ for all of 5 minutes tops. Brilliant if you ask me.

I don't know if it counts, but Kaepora Gaebora would top my list. I wish there was a way to draw my bow or slingshot and kill that POS bastard. He serves literally no purpose. He has never once said anything of value. He just interrupts the game, and to top it off, when he's done talking and asks if you want to hear his bullshit again, the cursor is set on "YES" instead of "NO". So if you're just button mashing to get through his dumbassery, and don't catch yourself quick enough, you have to go through it all over again. The only time in the game that there is a use for it is as a child on top of Death Mountain. You can get a ride down to Kakariko village. Beyond that one instance, just let me kill the damn thing. An owl that big would probably feed all the residents of Kakariko. But I want the heart. I want to eat his heart.

Shagger got a reaction from kingpotato in PS Plus Games For May 2020 Allegedly Leak, Includes Two Big Titles
PlayStation Plus is a kind of subscription that grants access to online play, exclusive discounts and access to 2 PS4 games per month selected by the powers that be at Sony as part of the package for around $60 per year (it can be cheaper at some outlets through renewal cards). They can also be purchased as shorter terms subscriptions, but these will be a little more expensive per month than the annual cost.

The idea was originally pioneered by Microsoft during the XBox 360 era (XBox Live Gold) then Sony created their own version (PS+) and more recently, Nintendo as well (Nintendo Switch Online). Basically, it's way for these companies to subsidize the running costs of their online services and earn additional revenue at the same time. The "free" games and discounts are basically there to sweeten the deal and make it worth buying.

    What Sucks About These Services?
The fact you have to pay to play online. Some games are exempt from this (For example, subscription based MMO's like FFXIV), but most games you have to be subscribed to these services to play games online. Also, the choice is not yours in what games in included in the package. Sometimes they're superb, sometimes not so much or you may already own them. Like @kingpotatosaid, you don't get to keep playing them if you end your subscription.

What Doesn't Suck About These Services?
The overall cost of the games offered if you were to buy them is significantly higher than the cost of the subscription. Frequently, one month's offering would cost more to buy from said digital store front than the annual subscription, so there is a lot of value to be found in these services. The discounts also can be very significant and can be applied to not just games, but other digital purchases like movies and Digital TV Box sets. For example, PS+ subscribers right now can buy the entire Fast and the Furious movie collection for half price.

Hope that clears things up. I personally do think it's worth it, but others are well within their right to disagree and I completely understand that point of view. Really, it comes down to the individual to decide if this is worth it to them or not.

No point denying it, this one of the biggest dud months for PS Plus in a long time. Game like Cities Skylines are always better played on PC and the other offering is a game simulating a profession with one of the highest suicide rates. I don't wanna sound entitled, especially since like @digitalsaid PS Plus has been really strong in recent months and with amazing titles like THOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima right around the corner, but what were they thinking?

Fake is the wrong word. Scripted, pre-planned, a show, stunting, yes, but nobody goes through the kind of risk, injuries, pain and wear and tear on their bodies that pro-wrestlers do by doing something "fake".
