Save points >>> Menu saving in my opinion
Crazycrab replied to NightmareFarm's topic in Gaming Forum
I get your point about having this kind of system adding suspense. Being able to save whenever you want does remove a lot of that tension since loosing really has little to no consequence. So I agree that it's not good to let a save anytime and anywhere they want with no restrictions. With that being said, the more traditional save point system did used to really drive me nuts back in the day when I was playing some of the older Final Fantasy games. I could loose 10 minutes or more of progress not because I got a fail state, but I because had to stop playing to go to work, school or run some other errand and didn't have time to go back to a save point. I think the best system is the one in Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West. You need to get to a campfire to manually save like in those older games but: It autosaves as well. You can fast travel. A campfire is never more than a few minutes away. As a player you should only be at risk of failure, not of having to stop. -
From what I understand the second "volume" is just the last two episodes. I really don't know why they're splitting it like this. Maybe it will make more sense when I done watching episodes 1 through 7.

Well season 4 premiers as of this post in about 11 hours, who else is exited?
-
That's surprising, I thought it took at least 6 months. I'll have to check myself when I get home!
-
It was only in theatres a few months ago so it won't be on Netflix yet.

On the wake of The Last of Us HBO series recently wrapping up filming and predicted to release in 2023. It has been revealed from Sony President Jim Ryan that several other series based on PlayStation games are in the works for several different TV/Streaming platforms. https://www.gamesradar.com/horizon-zero-dawn-tv-show-heading-to-netflix-while-god-of-war-goes-to-amazon/ What has been revealed so far is that a series based on Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to Netflix and another based on God of War will be arriving on Amazon. They also confirmed a Gran Turismo series but it's platform has not been confirmed. So what are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to these? Do you think that Sony are doing the right thing by using multiple streaming platforms? Who would be your ideal cast? Share down below.

Do you like playing Games alone or with friends?
Crazycrab replied to Clasher's topic in Gaming Forum
I've always found the point of "gaming is better with friends" kinda redundant. Of course gaming is better with friends. Going to a bar is better with friends. Going to a movie is better with friends. Watching the news is better with friends. Going for a skinny dip in a disgusting septic tank is better with friends. It's the freinds that make the difference, not the activity. -
How much time do you take if any between games?
Crazycrab replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Sometimes I play daily, then there are other periods when I go for weeks without playing at all. I don't even take that much notice. -
What a lot of people, and apparently Hideo Kojima don't realise is that voice acting is quite a different skill to performing in live action. Most live actors can to both and are often required to so even in live action productions for ADR. It's like a Guitar player picking up a Bass for the first time, they would probably manage but not as well as someone who has been trained in Bass exclusively. You will find that many actors will be stronger in one or the other.

who else can't wait for blood Bourne 2 to be released?
Crazycrab replied to Clasher's topic in Video Games
Well that's not good marketing strategy. You might have no problem buying two full price games at the same time but lots of other people would. They would obviously want to their customer base to buy both titles but if they released around the same time most would only buy one, literally shooting themselves in foot. In this particular situation with Elden Ring and Bloodborne 2 this situation would actually be even worse. Although it was developed by From Software, a third party developer that Sony don't own, the Bloodborne IP is actually owned by Sony. So on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being rage quit and 10 being orchestrated mass extinction. How pissed would Sony if they found out a developer that they are working with on a major exclusive were releasing another game in same genre with another publisher to be released within the same year? I'm thinking maybe a...... 7? Even if it were plausible releasing Bloodborne 2 this year would be terrible idea. Even if it on the cards it might not necessarily be From Software that are making it. Sony might contact someone else like Bluepoint Games, the same team behind the Demon's Remake instead. You really need get of this horse until we something definitive. -
I could be wrong but I don't really think gaming publishers and/or developers have any grounds to sue cheaters in most circumstances. They would have prove that have taken direct damage financially or to their reputation in order to have a case. Of the top of my head the circumstance I can think of is a pro-player cheating at an even that they directly endorsed or sponsored.

What is perfect fun gameplay? No sports
Crazycrab replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Gaming Forum
First of all, I don't care what anyone says, Murder She Wrote kicks ass! Secondly your the one that's completely wrong here. Thirdly you can cut that "I'm right and yer wrong lol" crap or we are gonna have a problem! That attitude is completely uncalled for. You seem to be associating the term "fun" exclusively with the laughing and smiling type of experience, but that's not the only way people have "fun". Enjoyable experiences also come from being aroused, surprised, intellectually stimulated and winning. Even negative stimulation like sorrow, shock, terror and sometimes even pain. Why else would people enjoy horror movies, bungie jumping, crying at opera's and BDSM. But no, it's seems that in gaming the only way to have fun is you narrow definition of "what causes smiles and laughs" and "fun itself is not subjective". Are you for real? If that were true we wouldn't even be having this discussion because we would all the be playing the same games doing the same thing. I'll be honest here, your version of "perfect fun": Sounds stressful as fuck to me! Continuous sensory load with no breaks with non stop smiling and laughing? I'd think I'd have a heart attack! But that's fine, you do you. I don't see why you feel the need to jump down other people because they find some something dramatic like The last of Us "fun", or least not your kind of fun. I'm genuinely baffled at the idea you seem fun isn't subjective. That is so academically incorrect and I know you're smart. You even mentioned in your post "you could say my interpretation of fun is subjective" so I don't see what kind of message your trying to get across here. -
What is perfect fun gameplay? No sports
Crazycrab replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Gaming Forum
"Perfect fun gameplay" isn't something you nail down to any particular formula, just like @Dannyjax said it's subjective. I could say the turn based system in Final Fantasy X is perfect and the best gameplay I've experienced that uses that system. I could also say Metal Gear Solid 3 has the perfect tactical/stealth gameplay, or that Life is Strange has the best mechanics of any interactive narrative type of experience. Not only are these games are completely different but at the end of the day they are all subjective opinions rather than provable facts. So with all due respect @Reality vs Adventure, I'm really not sure where you're trying to go with this and I doesn't seem like a particularly productive conversation to me. We've already started to see this lack of productive conversation with this: Well, everything you mentioned is not straight fun. Skyrim being far from perfect is not PERFECT FUN GAMEPLAY!!! TLOU is drama and nothing near fun gameplay. How can say that @kingpotato is wrong? If he thinks that Skyrim, God of War or The Last of Us have the most fun gameplay then that's just how he feels. You can't define what somebody else considers to be "Fun". It's like me telling you that you don't like Broccoli, what the fuck do I know! It's all subjective. -
Wow, I didn't realise I was such a boring bastard...
-
That was gonna be my nomination to, but I guess I'll nominate you instead @kingpotato.

who else can't wait for blood Bourne 2 to be released?
Crazycrab replied to Clasher's topic in Video Games
Your not getting it are you? For reasons that I and others have thoroughly explained already it is literally impossible for Bloodborne 2 to release this year assuming it's even it in production at all. If it was even close to a release they would have announced it by now. It not like Sony would be all shy and quiet about it, they would be promoting the hell out of it. Firing on all cylinders with trailers, state of play event's, interviews, posters and more. -
I'll appreciate that.
-
I would say that Final Fantasy X is the best turn based system I have ever experienced. It's more or less the pinnacle as far as I'm concerned.

Can you provide specific links? I did do due diligence and looked them up but I didn't find anything in black and white or even earlier than the nineties which is several decades past the "Black and White" era. If I am wrong I apologize but what you posted seemed to be so far off topic that I had call it out as suspicious. If these are all very obscure movies from the African continent that came after the western world had moved onto colour then please accept my apologies, but I need to see something.
-
The latest stuff from Arch Enemy is fucking kick ass!
-
Do you have anything to say about them that is relevant to the discussion at hand? I'll spare everyone else the trouble of looking them up and say no. There's a Chinese movie from 2021 by this title, but nothing from that year. Seeking clicks from outside of China, maybe? Also doesn't exist. There is an African movie from 1999 but I'm pretty sure that it not what Justin is referring to. Party because it's not black and white but mostly for reasons I'll get to in a bit. A couple of movies under this title do at least exist (you didn't give a year), but of none are black and white as far as I can tell. There is a reference to "Arusi-Iyi" on IMDB from 1998. It very obscure and only listed a "Video". Ironically to the only technical aspect listed that it's in colour. None of them are in black and white and I'm fairly sure most of them aren't even references to specific movies. You've said literally fuck all about them and you know what, I know exactly what you're doing. I looked them up and posted the results so others don't have to because it's obvious all your trying to do is draw traffic to whatever bullshit cryto-currently you want to add value to. Your not fooling me and you as far as I'm concerned you can go screw yourself and take you cyrto-pyramid scams someplace else. If I'm wrong I'll happily put my hands up and apologize but you need to prove that these are legitimate references to actual black and white movies first. Your move @Justin11.

I admit I haven't seen that many black and white films. I would say The Haunting (original) but that was shot in black and white by the director's choice so I'm not sure it really counts as a "black and white era" film as such. I remember watching a couple of the older "Carry on" films like Carry on Teacher that were black and white. Good times! I recall seeing one or two of the many post WW2 films that were made in the decade or so after the end of the war but I can't name a specific one.
