  1. Nothing has been confirmed but I would expect Street Fighter 6 to be multi-platform.
  2. No, it definitely wasn't. It was more like Sony competing with Apple, except with a bit less style and a bit more substance! I had a Vaio, it functioned like any other windows laptop but they did have some innovations. Mine, for example was one of the first laptops to have wireless internet. It had a port that you could insert a WiFi card and access a router. I know, sounds like nothing now but back in 2003 that was pretty radical.
  3. Ex-fucking-actly! The parents that push this nonsense just cannot accept, get their heads around or simply can't be bothered to look into the fact the human animal is a psychologically very complicated. They would rather simplify the process down a one simple thing that absolves their children and more importantly them any responsibility because it makes them feel better about themselves. Over the years these kind of irresponsible tossbags have blamed high school shootings, murder's, bullying and a multitude of crime's on video games, movies, music and even books. The only media sources that have debatably led to violence and hatred are the so holy books like the Bible and Quran, but that's another issue. This violence bullcrap about video games and other media is a diversionary tactic for shitty parents and politicians to swing attention from what's really to blame, which easy access to guns (looking at you again, 2nD amendment), abject poverty, mental health and quite often themselves or least their living environment. As much as people like @skyfire would like to because it's more convenient, you cannot the source of someone's and certainly not multiple people's violent behaviour down to one denominator. It's case by case and complex. Even the perps themselves usually don't properly understand why did what they did. Let me sum it here: VIOLENT MEDIA ALONE DOES NOT CREATE VIOLENT PEOPLE AND THIS HAS BEEN HAVE PROVEN DOZENS OF TIMES THROUGH DECADES OF STUDY, END OF STORY.
  4. I've never been a fan of these things. They shift around whenever you move your knees, the mouse pads were to small, messy cables, and I always felt I was having to uncomfortably tuck my elbows in while I was using them. So I LOVE the look of this! It seems to address all those issues.
  5. UGH THIS AGAIN! I've seen literally dozens of studies that have to same conclusion as this "flawed" research, are say they are ALL guilty of misrepresenting the evidence? Your not even demonstrating or providing anything that supports your claim that Oxford University's (one of the most highly respected higher education facilities in Europe, maybe even the world) methods or research is flawed. Your just saying it is while, once again, providing no evidence. This isn't the first time either, the claims you make about the alleged link between video games and violence have been debunked time and time again. Some research has linked games to higher levels of aggression in adolescents, but no more than sports or any other activity of a competitive nature. You've just used the word aggression and twisted it into the same bullshit arguments about violence. You know perfectly well there are not the same thing and were not stupid enough to fall for it.
  6. MotoGP 22 has just been announced, other than that I can't think of anything.
  7. Your kidding me right? It was 3 weeks ago about GT7. I told YOU specifically about it!
  8. If you really want an accurate picture what being in the military (or anything for that matter), you shouldn't base your assumptions on a fictional story. Find something factual like a documentary, article, reference book or ask someone with real world experience like @The Blackangel in this case. You might be right about some of your assumptions but you don't know that and the movie Full Metal Jacket is not a reference source.
  9. You can't generalize these kind of situations. When wealthy people loose their fortune it can happen for a catalogue list of different reasons. Reckless spending, bad investments, victims of scams, addiction to gambling, drink or drugs, caught engaging in criminal activity, the list goes on forever. The very article you posted list more than 20 different examples, none of them exactly the same. As to how it can be prevented? Again it's case by case. I believe that also applies as to wether we should even feel sorry for them at all.
  10. *FACEPALM* What the hell are you dribbling about now!? As a white male speaking in general for my admittedly daft and privileged demographic, even we are not this stupid! I'm all in for gender equality, I believe inclusive "melting pot cultures" are far better than separatist "salad bowl" one's and quite frankly, I'd rather die a virgin than waste all my money on brain dead, scam-mail order bride that just says "yes" to everything I say! It might be fun for while but it would clearly get boring very quickly! What planet are you on?
  11. Let's be honest here... What's gameplay footage really going to tell us? It's Street Fighter, that alone gives you a fairly good idea of what the core gameplay is going to be like. They might some new features to it but considering the eSports scene and what they need out of it core gameplay is not going to be radically different. I'm more interested in what innovations they might make to single player, customisation and like @kingpotato said in terms of perhaps not making a bunch of bullshit exclusions or inclusions. Maybe including some characters from other Capcom games like Lady Dimitrescu from RE8, that would be pretty cool even if it's paid DLC.
  12. If you want to discuss the next State of Play or speculate about what the next Resident Evil Release, then I would suggest starting new topics instead of bumping this one. This has already gone of topic several times. Speculation about the next State of Play in particular is clearly not on topic here especially when (as I can tell) there's evidence or even really any rumours that a Resident Evil announcement is even going to feature. Even if there was, it's still not really on topic.
  13. Favourite: Final Fantasy X This is first one I played so maybe their is a little bias at play, but I love and really enjoy every time I play it. It's the first time I felt I got a true cinematic experience from a game with awesome cutscenes, fabulous graphics and some of the most beautiful music in any game even today. It's not just production value it's got going for it either. It's got an epic story, likable characters and what I what I would still is the best and most addictive turn-based combat system in any RPG. The endgame is expansive with tons of hidden secrets, items summons, side plots and mini games. It's definitely the whole package. Least Favourite: Final Fantasy XIII If X was the one that climbed the steps that allowed the franchise to next level and the undisputed market leader in JRPG's, XIII was the one that slipped on a banana pell and bumped it's head on every rung on the way back down. The funny thing is, X and XIII are actually very similar in many ways. This just makes the tase in your mouth even saltier when you consider some of the mind blowing choices made here. The one I do give it credit for is it's visuals, it's not just the production values either. I'd actually argue that it has THE most interesting looking world of any Final Fantasy game. It's colourful, varied and highly unique. The music is nice to, it has a more ambient style that although I can't I personally prefer it but I see it's qualities and why some people would. The issues are with, well.... Pretty much everything else! XIII combat system is essentially a watered down version of the dressphere system from X-2. In X-2 there dozens of dressphere's each with is own stats and wide variety of abilities that were often unique to that sphere. XIII's comparable paradigm shift system was way more limited in that there was only 6 roles and even of those 6, only 3 were really feasible options for each character for most of the game. It's somewhat of an autopilot system to, this wouldn't be to bad it were a programmable autopilot like XII with the gambit system but it doesn't (more on that later). Despite these issues the actual raw combat can be fun, especially in some of the harder battles and boss fights but it's ultimately ruined by one fucked up design choice... You can only control one character. Also you can't change the party leader during combat or switch in reserve members (once again, like in XII) so if the party leader goes down even if everyone else is at full health it's a game over. For the other two members you totally at the mercy of the AI and holy crap... IT'S A MORON! For basic attacking and tanking as a Sentinel it works ok, but for anything slightly more complicated like adding buffs, inflicting aliments or in particular healing it's a nightmare. The rest of the party could be inflicted with a ton of status aliments that leave them unable to do anything but your idiot medic will refuse to do anything about it and just heal over and over because one member's health had snuck just below 70%! A fucking good reason why XII had an autobattle system where you could program and override any member at any time! The post-game sucks, it's just hunts over and over. Almost none of the side stories, secrets, interacting with NPS, towns, exploration or mini games are hear at all. You report to the Cie'th Stone, get the hunt, kill the target which unlocks more Cie'th Stones to repeat the same grindy, repetitive loop over and over again. I think the story would have serviceable it weren't for the fact that Final Fantasy XIII has the worst cast of characters in any Final Fantasy game. Perhaps even the worst of any party RPG. Their all overly sensitive, very short tempered, selfish and really fucking stupid. There has been plenty of other rants about these idiots from myself and others on this forum and this post/rant is already starting so I'll stop here. Moderator edit per OP request
  14. The definition is in the name, "Role Playing Game", but it's kind of a loose definition these days. Back in the 80's and 90's when different genres of gaming were being defined the RPG was a clear and specific style which included games like Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Earthbound and so on. You "played a role" actively engaging in a story. The goal being to experience the story and challenges from the perspective of the character(s) your playing. In most other genre's like side scrollers, beat-em-ups, shooters, Tournament Fighters, sports games and so on were more simple and monotonous. They were not as focused on storytelling and characters and the goal was generally always the same. Get to the end of the stage, beat your opponent, get the high score, win the game, you get the idea. Since then though, the elements that once defined RPG's have made their way into just about every other genre and the line between RPG and everything else has gotten a little blurry. There are still RPGs that are clear cut like Final Fantasy XV, Skyrim and Fallout 4. Then there's some that seem kinda debatable, like is Dark Souls an RPG or a hack and slash? Is GTA V an RPG or a sandbox? Is Metal Gear Solid V an RPG or a Stealth action game? Are any of them both... CAN they be both? Like @Head_Hunter said: It's so unclear now that everyone has a different idea of what an RPG is. It's an interesting discussion. For me though, I going to stick as close as possible to the original definition. An RPG is a game that includes gameplay challenges for the player but where experiencing the story and characters remains the primary objective. Other game genre's are capable of engaging the player in a way that pushes them with the sentiment of "I want to get past this part to see what happens next". Any game that is pushing you forward for another reason however, is most certainly NOT one.
  15. You mean your not that guy from the first Assassin's Creed game? Well..... At least your not Desmond. 😄 Welcome to VGR.
  16. I've read the article and I have to actually defend the movie production to some degree. I know it's a disruptive pain in arse but if one of the security guards on the movie is telling not to go down a certain street, you should listen to them. They might be a dangerous stunt for all know, but this idiot just keeps walking! For months now the pavements in my town have been being ripped to install new fibre broadband cable, is it inconvenient, yes, do I piss and moan about it NO! I just get on with it.
  17. Well that's disappointing, I thought you might have found some crazy loophole! 🤣
  18. Were at a bit of a stalemate since..... Well..... neither of us can really get off the beach.....
  19. I agree, It's stupid in any offline game but in an open world game it's even worse. Even online games like MMO's have "mark as safe" features in case you need to answer the phone or take a shit! I feel you, but it's not entirely From Software's fault. Their, or more specifically, the "Souls" games have the most elitist fanbase in history. It's (at least partly) this is exactly what their fans tell them they want. They are so obsessed with the "challenge" aspect that anything that runs the risk of allowing anyone that's not "hardcore" being able to even play let alone beat these games are forcefully rejected. This includes difficulty modes, accessibility features and even basic quality of life features. If you disagree even slightly with this mentality or any of these ideas your just just told to "git gud" and are accused of hating on these games purely because you suck at them. It's pathetic.
  20. What do mean you "got the game from Steam on my PS4."? Steam is on PC.
  21. I hope it's a "Blame Canada", then at least we could have a sing-a-long!
  22. Theirs been a few in fact, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) which is pretty good. I think you probably mean the first one, Final Fantasy: the Spirits Within (2001). I'm with you on the aminations, visuals and how technically impressive it was but it was SO BORING. I remember the silly mock outtakes on than I remembered the film! Mortal Kombat (1995) was good, it's got some problems but it's still certainly up there as one of the best game to movie adaptations. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) is so cheap and incompetent in nearly every aspect that it's quite a lot to watch! As for good Game to Movie Adaptations... I would say Wreck it Ralph but it's not really based on a game. I've heard good things about Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) but I've not seen it myself. So aside from the aforementioned Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Mortal Kombat... I would say DOOM but to honest but I think it's really just that really cool First person sequence, the rest of film is mediocre at best. It's hard to think of any truly great video game movies. For good Game adaptations, almost all the good stuff is in TV/Streaming series. The Witcher (although it's based on the books rather than the games) Castlevainia, there's some decent Sonic series' and then there's Arcane League of legends which the hands down the best video game adaptation ever. Movies have quite caught up yet.
