Some things in TLOU HBO show will “deviate greatly”
Crazycrab replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
I'd expect their to be a lot of changes. In the original just as much if not more of the storytelling and character development is done through interactive gameplay rather than cutscenes. To adapt that in to non-interactive media then it's obvious those parts will have to done differently. -
Pain vocals in video games that sound embarrassingly like sex
Crazycrab replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm actually ok with games like that. I mean their stupid and not something that I would ever consider buying, but it's free speech and their not a insult against any demographic and obviously aren't ment to be taken that seriously. I did recently hear that Steam will not release Super Seducer 3 on their platform and that product, at least in my opinion, IS insulting because it insinuates that the psychology of all women can be broken down to a single formula. Not to mention the sexist undertone of it's purpose assuming the assuming of the manipulative tactics techniques described actually work. -
Top 20 Worst Movies Based on Video Games
Crazycrab replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
I find my self a little more forgiving of Super Mario Brothers than most. I know the plot is high on LSD, it has almost nothing in common with the games, it's horribly mis-cast and whoever can figure out whether Mairo is Luigi's father, brother, uncle or mother deserves a nobel prize. With all they being said all they had to work with in terms of source material was two plumbers on schrooms traveling through pipes to rescue a princess. So considering that this one of the first attempts adapt a video game (and a fairly plotless one at that) into a movie... It's bad, but other adaptations have come years later with far more complex characters and established lore to work with and up with something way worse. -
$67.50, is that all? SC has you trumped big time 😄! Star Citizen is NOT free to play, you get NO free ships, is not finished nor is it likely to ever be and the most expensive single ship is the Javalin at $2500.
-
Well the reigning heavyweight champion of THAT bullshit is beyond any question or shadow of doubt Star Citizen. The cheapest ship packs start at about same price as a full retail game and the most expensive being in the tens of thousands of dollars. Even after that they the have gall to feature more microtransactions for shit like clothes, weapons, equipment, land, resources and even (I swear I'm not making this up) insurance... INSURANCE in case your digital ship and/or it's digital cargo gets stolen of destroyed for fucks sake! All this for a Alpha test to a game to a game that will never exist. It is a literal scam.
-
There it's a bit more understandable, you pay a couple of pounds or whatever for each song that you want to learn. That's not the same as chipping off parts of the gaming experience and selling them seperate.
-
DOA 5 and 6 have to be up there. They each have hundreds of costumes across multiple season passes at a total cost of up to around $1000 for everything. Bloody insane.

Pain vocals in video games that sound embarrassingly like sex
Crazycrab replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
In the case of Dead or Alive I don't think it's even an accident! 😁 In the case of... In general. I think I see this more often in movies and TV than in games. In my experience most games that feature sex and violence will either WAY exaggerate the sex sounds (much like porn) or mute them to most likely distance it from this very connection. So I don't think I've ever really had an issue with this -
Oblivion: Anyone else find these gates super tedious?
Crazycrab replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
I don't really care for them, in fact the only real reason to close them any of outside the quest ones that you have to is for the Sigil Stones. -
I remember it, I thought it was a total farce in which, if we're being honest, both sides were mostly full of crap. Yes, there is corruption in game journalism but it's also true that there are a lot of gamers out there that are bullying, misogynic, white privlige dicks. The #Gamergate "movement" (notice that I use the term very loosely) made a lot of noise but nothing productive got done which is why I personally refused to have any part of it then and certainly not now, there's more important things in life.

I remember playing it back in the day, decent game but I feel like it missed out on some of the opportunities it presented itself. The transformations for instance, it was neat that you could switch between the forms but it was also kind of pointless all forms except for the one that ties to that particular realm were useless in combat so there was never any reason to switch other than to solve some puzzles. The second form, Undine, allows Jen to swim but Aquis is the only area with any water, so you never use it again! That brings me onto the second item I feel it could have benefited from which was a more open level design. It would have been cool to be able to re-visit some of the other realms later in the game and it seems to be laid out perfectly for that but no, it's very liner. Good game otherwise, interesting lore, cool soundtrack, good visuals, great voice acting, bit of button masher in combat but still fun. I think the best thing was the puzzles, it was one of the first games I remember playing that had organic enviormental type puzzles rather that stereotypical "find the key to the door" or "pull a switch" type tropes. I'd recommend it.

The game is out now and has been for several months.

I'm sorry to trace back to my earlier point but I can't understand why this is still being discussed. This is a ingenious but totally pointless solution to a problem that doesn't exist. It's like that story from back in the 60's when NASA allegedly spent millions of taxpayers dollars developing a pen that would work in outer space when the Russian Cosmonauts used a pencil. THE PROBLEM HAS ALREADY BEEN SOLVED!

Which skyrim character build/race is the best?
Crazycrab replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
It doesn't matter to much in Skyrim. Each race still has it's own characteristics and powers but unlike Oblivion the system is set in a way that you won't be punished for picking a certain race/build combination or leveling wrong. Whether you want a warrior, theif, assassin or mage type build you can basically pick whatever race you want and go for it. There is a 3rd person but I think most players prefer playing in first, especially if your like me and like a stealth build with a bow as your primary. Like I said it's really up to you, just what comes naturally. -
Putting Doors in Video Games Is a Nightmare, Say Developers
Crazycrab replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
It depends on the specific job, there are literally hundreds of different tasks, responsibilities and talents involved in a AAA production. From design and art, 3D modeling, developing code for physics, AI, testing, writing, voice acting, directing... The list goes on forever. -
If Madden NFL 22 fails, will the NFL cut ties with EA?
Crazycrab replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
Assuming that the NFL (and FIFA, UFC and others) could break their agreement with EA if the games financialy underperform without paying EA restitution, which I SERIOUSLY doubt they could, that's not going to happen. EA Sports make billions off the UT card packs every year and that's all they care about. Are you kidding? It would be any other publishers wet dream to get slice of pie from Madden and FIFA, why do you think EA keep these money-printing licenses so close to their chest? Even if their developers had to spend tens of millions of dollars creating new code and engine from scratch they would sign in half a heartbeat! -
If Madden NFL 22 fails, will the NFL cut ties with EA?
Crazycrab replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I'm just going to give the short answer. EA re-signed with the NFL until 2026, so untill Madden 2027 they don't give a fuck. The even shorter answer is (unfortunately) no. -
Most Horrible Live Performances You've Ever Watched
Crazycrab replied to killamch89's topic in Music
I don't think you can judge the quality of a live performance based on live recordings like this. Without really good microphones and the capability of cutting out artifacts like wind noise and feedback the result you get can sound VERY different from what it actually was. -
Here's a few that should get you started: Uncharted: Golden Abyss Killzone Mercenary Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster Tearaway Persona 4 Golden Gravity Rush

I don't know much about esports but I don't see any good reason why their should be all female leagues, at least not at a professional level. It's not like Athletics or Weightlifting or whatever where one gender has an advantage. If men and women can compete together and the competition is still fair then what's the point in a gender split?
-
I personally disagree with that statement completely. There was and still is merit to stealth and ambush tactics. Hell, it's what most elite military and special forces units like the US Navy SEALS and British SAS are trained to do. In feudal Japan the "Ninja's" who represented the lower class knew that they couldn't best the better equipped and decadent royal Samurai in a fair fight... So they didn't fight fair. That's how the whole ideas of the Ninja's stealth tactics came about. In World War 2 there was a particular squadron of all female bomber pilots in the Soviet Union. They had slow, outdated biplanes there were far below the stall speeds of the German fighter planes at the time. So their strategy was to fly at night, cut off the engines and glide and slowly and quietly, drop their bombs and then take off (video's posted below). Similar techniques are used by stealth bomber pilots today. Would I describe any of these individuals or cultures as being "cowardly"? Absolutely not. If anything "Striking from the Shadows" is a bigger risk, both in gaming (mostly) and in real life because it's higher skill, lower cost, bigger reward. I applaud and respect people who use this tactic and I strive to do it in games whenever I'm given the opportunity. It's more satisfying to me than charging in like Galahad.

Scalping doesn't really cut into Sony's profits, if anything it increases them since they still need to sell the units at retail in order for the reseller's to get them.

I played Mariokart 64 a lot back in the day and honestly, In many ways the SNES version is superior. The biggest issue with 64 was the rubberbanding A.I. In single player it would always make sure that it was always the same A.I character finishing in front of the rest, and if that character ever got ahead of you they were impossible to catch. I think it was a feature they added to make GP mode more of a challenge since you would have to win most of if not all the races but it was so blatantly obvious and unfair.
