So, I know there exists a PC game by this name, as well as an entire series of simulation games that are known probably more familiarly as MechWarrior. But whereas MechWarrior is a series of spinoffs, there was a tabletop game that started it all. Who plays here? Anybody? Nobody? I ask, because Catalyst Game Labs released a new edition of the game somewhere around the beginning of the year; a "Beginner Box" for starting new players with a simplified version of the game, and a main release with more fleshed-out rules. The new edition has miniatures that are supposedly of better quality than those of past editions of the game. I've been thinking of picking up the beginner box and finally taking steps toward learning the game. I grew up playing MechWarrior games, but I kind of like the idea of getting to see that world from a different perspective.
