StaceyPowers
Do video games help you fight anxiety? I think they help with mine in the following ways: -They give my mind something to focus on. -They play well to my obsessive-compulsive nature, hijacking my OCD and taking it away from ruminating on things that scare me. -They trigger a dopamine “reward” experience. -They are more ordered and safe than everyday life. Patrik
I wouldn't say always, sometimes Anxiety or OCD kick so badly that you feel like you don't want to exist anymore, but gaming reduces them atleast
Reality vs Adventure
Maybe if a person has a fear of something, they can play that scenario in games and maybe help cope through it by gaining confidence and experience to overcome. Or playing something that relaxes and puts the mind in a better existence has a natural anti anxiety effect. And even playing a game that you can relate personally with the story, can relieve some stagnant emotions. StaceyPowers
The Blackangel
The more violent the game, the more relaxing it is for me. Hatred is a great game for relaxation for me. It's just a mass killing spree. I get to let my frustrations out on innocent people, and my anxiety goes down. Sure, you kill things in other games, but not like this. Heatman
In most cases, I believe that games have a very good way of making people happy when they play. When I'm not happy, games makes me happy.
