Would you rather detect every lie you hear or get away with every lie you tell?

I'd rather the former because even though I hardly lie (even when I'm lying it isn't entirely untrue, as a matter of fact, it's half-truths) Mine do tend to be extremely believable. On the other hand, I'd like the ability to detect lies (well I do somewhat have it from my years in law enforcement but it isn't 100% foolproof). Which would you pick and why?

I'm already skilled enough at lying that I can make people believe anything if I put my mind to it. I can also tell when someone is lying fairly well, but not all the time. So I would pick being a lie detector.
