Empire Posted August 10, 2021 Share Posted August 10, 2021 I think esports has an uphill battle to get into the Olympics, for one very simple reason. Corporations pay through the nose to sponsor the Olympics. Given that, can you really imagine the IOC giving EA or Blizzard or Riot what amounts to free advertising on the largest stage in the world? The Olympics is for actual sports and honestly, as a gamer, I would never ever consider what we do as an actual sport. It's just weird and embarrassing that it's even being considered really.
