StaceyPowers
Does anyone here have issues with RSI, carpal tunnel, or anything else that makes your wrists/hands swell or hurt? What are your strategies for dealing with this and continuing to enjoy your games?
killamch89
I haven't really encountered any issues like this before but the most sensible thing is to limit your gaming session time, take more breaks and also to go see a medical expert for assistance in fixing the issue. Sharon
It hasn't been an issue for me but then again I don't play daily for long periods of time. Years ago I used to play The Sims for HOURS. I think my eyes get tired before my hands do.
Heatman
It's not something that I have actually experienced but have heard from a few people who have passed through such pains and it's not something cool according to them. Personally, I'd stop playing once I feel any discomfort.
Empire
Just to piggyback on your good recommendations, I believe this applies to handhelds, especially smartphones, which imo have become the right size to stir up early arthritis and carpal tunnel issues. No one is asking for my advice but if they were I'd say to take breaks with your phone and maybe even seek out different ways to hold and use it instead of that same claw grip. I do get my finger start to play up after hold the W key for hours. DC

Heatman
If the symptoms of the carpal tunnel becomes too much, it's very important that you properly have it checked out by a doctor.
m76
Sometimes I do much more clicks during work than gaming, so it happens that my wrist gets sore. To alleviate the issue I can switch the mouse to my left hand during work, so my right hand can be rested enough for gaming 😛

I can't swap both of them seriously.
Head_Hunter
Playing video games long, causes tired hands, strain in the fingers which causes stiffness of the hands. That's why break and exercise is needed at times to straighten up the hands and body.

Yeah - the break and time isn't only good for your thumb and wrist but also for your general sanity and cooling of your brain.
Justin11
If I stay long pressing the pad of PS console it makes my hand to be weak, feeling the heat that's why I take some time off to rest my hands before starting again.

I think that it gets to a time when you play too long, it gets to numb your fingers for over pressing these pad buttons.

I do fee the heat, and whenever I see myself in such kind of scenario I immediately take some rest to take a walk feel brand new then come back again to continue where I stopped, of I didn't go anywhere that day.
