A good majority of them being Mexicans. That could be any town and is nothing unique to L.A. That inspiration from L.A. I would say what makes it unique is not the gangs, but simply a melting pot from all walks of life trying to co-exist and how easy it is to exploit and turn into a humorous yet dramatic satire.
