Techno
Leave your opinions on if 2021 was a good year for gaming. My thoughts: 2021 was a okay year for gaming, there were good games, but with the infection of NFTs and Activision becoming a supervillain, the year had just as much bad as good. Kane99
I mean, it's as good as any other year I'd say. The scalpers are probably the ones that made the year worse, considering so many people are yet to get the new gen consoles, and scalpers are still taking control. I think by mid 2022 though, we'll start to see that trend slow down and people will be able to get consoles a lot faster. I hope so at least. But other than that, 2021 was kinda a tame year. I didn't see anything too impressive. Maybe Deathloop could be considered best game of 2021, but idk what else to be honest.

Yeah, tame is a better word for 2021, it was really just a quiet year, big things happened, but all in all, real quiet year.
m76
I don't think so, it was a bellow average year. The best new game I played this year was Far Cry 6, and that says something, since it's not a particularly great game either. I might not even write a retrospective article for this year on my site, or it will be a very short one.
kingpotato
For the gaming industry it was not that good of a year, mostly because of covid, shortage of materials, delays in games, not enough stock for consoles or hardware etc. But for the gaming market it was actually a good year ( I guess I dont know the numbers ) consoles ran out of stock really quick, people are staying at home so they are purchasing more videogames than the previus years. Crazycrab
I'd say no. In fact on reflection 2021 was probably the worst year for the gaming industry and gamers alike in quite some time. With all the scalping, shortages, delays, broken releases, broken promises, accusations of abuse, lawsuits, NFT's and on the whole not even that many games... There was a lot more controversy than there was actual gaming in 2021. I'm optimistic that 2022 will be better, but that's mostly because I can't see how it could get any worse. Head_Hunter
Provided I stay alive and heathy, video games will simply be enjoyed. I wouldn't vote for any year being more excellent, but I'll say 2021 went as planned no matter the new outrageous decisions made by the game companies.
