If it is going to be a remaster, I can see it being successful given Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Kao the Kangeroo have come out swinging after over a decade of silence. In the 3D games there was a lot of environmental jokes and crude humour from Gex. I suppose the appeal was a vocal character (who said more than "woah!") and appeared on multiple platforms. Interestingly Rob Cohen - one of the writers for The Simpsons - penned the script and most of Gex's one liners, voiced by actor and standup comedian Dana Gould.
