Kane99
I know most people usually tossed the game boxes for NES, SNES games and other cardboard based games. Most people didn't think to keep the cases, because they thought they were meant to be tossed away. But, some people did save them, and good thing they did, because otherwise we wouldn't have any games out there with available boxes and inserts. Anyway, did you know anyone who threw those boxes away, but also threw away the cases for CD/DVD games? I didn't know anyone who did that, but I could see some people just keeping the discs. I knew kids who had binders full of games, and I don't know if they tossed the cases (I doubt it), but I'm sure a lot of them were lost due to neglect lol. Boblee
My friend literally didn't put back any of the CDs of games he got for his Playstation 1 once they are out. It's why most of the games damaged easily and became unreadable.

I don't know how many times I saw a friends game collection with cases damaged and without the covers. Some people just don't take care of their games. StaceyPowers
I've tossed most of my game boxes/cases by now. Price of living in a tiny space.
Head_Hunter
I wouldn't know the people who does that. Cos, I don't know much of the gamers here in my own locality. I mostly stay indoors, I don't throw away mine.

Justin11
That's the case when you have money, it will make you not to value most of the things you own which another doesn't have. Because it will give you the motion you can buy everything literally you need in life.

Seriously, that's definitely going to be a challenging situation for one living in a tiny space. The boxes are garbage for the person.

kingpotato
On gamestop when you buy a used game they rarely give you the original box, most of the times they give you a generic box black box. I have a friend that used to print the original box cover to add them to the generic box.

If the woman never liked gaming, you are definitely getting rid of them.
Scorpion
I definitely saw kids toss cases for CDs and DVDs! Many just kept the discs, while boxes disappeared over time. Crazy!
killamch89
Oh man, this hit me hard. As a kid, I used to toss out the boxes for my NES and SNES games without a second thought. Back then, it seemed like the logical thing to do - it’s just cardboard, right? But when CD/DVD games came along, I couldn’t imagine ditching the cases. I guess that’s when the collector mindset kicked in for me. Binders full of discs, though? That was a vibe for so many kids I knew.
