Kane99
Do you guys think that most gamers are "toxic"? I don't think most of us are, but I'd argue that most online gamers tend to be toxic, at least those you meet in the lobbies with voice chat enabled. It isn't as bad as the early 360/ps3 days when gamers would just swear up a storm, throw out racial slurs and just be obnoxiously loud and dumb. But these days, I just ignore those lobbies by sticking to my private chats with friends. I cringe whenever I hear a lobby voice chat. I always make sure I'm muted, and if anyone talks to me, I tend to ignore them, unless they're being kind, which I may respond, idk. I feel like a lot of the gamers out there are toxic, but I think you could say that about most people these days haha. Just look at social media. Justin11
Even in video game communities that is interactive they are still creating toxic conversations, making the community very much uncomfortable for some gamers to feel free to communicate. Boblee
Well, I'm not toxic ever since I started playing games. It's not the games that gamers toxic but their nature itself. Knight Plug
Scorpion
I agree, online gaming can be toxic, especially in voice chat. Ignoring negativity and sticking to friends is a wise choice! Knight Plug
Knight Plug
It depends on the mindset of the individual, I suppose. I get bother with this Australian nutball, which is not really over gaming disagreements, but more so down to the guy just being plain creepy and ignorant. But I find some Resident Evil fanboys to be the worst gamers online for gaming chat, because they seem to enjoy everything Capcom produces, even with the hundreds of plot aspects that makes no sense. I've long suspected that Capcom just did all these remakes as a cash grab. The actual main timeline in RE has become a joke. It's way too convoluted. Then they bring back all the classic characters as one big unit, and make them all juiced up, with different viral infections somehow slowing down their ability to age as normal. LMAO. It just seems like having this ragtag group of heroes is making the franchise feel less scary. 🏋♀️ 🏋♂️ Capcom seems to love to bring in new viruses, and associated villains, then just conjure up some weird plot stuff for the next game. I thought RE8 in particular was rather silly. Vampires and werewolves is Universal or Hammer material in my view. Not something that reflects what RE is meant to concern itself with. 🤔 Ethan Winters was a good character, but the fact they hid his face was so dumb. I didn't see the point in doing that. They wanted you to "pretend" to be him, I guess. But even with that third person mode they threw in, you couldn't even rotate the camera to get a look at his face. LOL. It was kind of stupid introducing it then. As was the bosses so stupid too, like that puppet thing in the spooky house you enter across the bridge. It was so corny. Then that Heisenberg dude became a robot. LOL. RE7 was silly as well. But RE8 was just flat out weird. ☺️
killamch89
I think you’re spot on about voice chat lobbies. It’s like they bring out the worst in some people. But I don’t think toxicity defines most gamers. It’s more that the loud minority gets the most attention, while the majority are just quietly enjoying their games. I also feel like certain games or platforms might foster more toxic behavior, depending on the culture or expectations within the community Knight Plug
Shagger
I don't think "toxic" gamers are more numerous, they just louder and get more attention. Edited December 14 by Shagger
Knight Plug
The site JoyFreak is complete ass now. I think I'll stop posting there, seeing as how Aries and company aren't interested in deleting the spam. RE9 not being announced at the 2024 Game Awards was quite meh too, to be honest. But Silent Hill 2 winning zero awards two nights was more surprising.
