Correct, Sony wants to be the leading video game company around. They have actually slacked for a while now that allowed Microsoft to catch up with them and trying to overtake them if they are not careful. Microsoft acquisition of Activision blizzard have given them edge over Sony, because the deal was simply a bumper one. Now, Microsoft is an additional force in the video game industry with the help of Activision blizzard company. They were pushed into a buying action immediately to purchase a new studio of their own to match up but Activision-Blizzard was the bigger fish.
