Ways you make games deliberately harder (other than changing the difficulty)?

Do you deliberately handicap your character (i.e. by choosing harder skills) or make in-game decisions with harsh consequences to make games harder?

I usually go with the Nuzzlocke challenge on pokemon games and on Advanced wars I usually go 1 vs 3 or if I use a weak character then 1 vs 2 vs 1 strong character

I use a Game Genie. I power up my enemies, and make myself weaker. They take more hits to kill, and I take less hits to be killed. Depending on the codes available for the game, I'll tweak it in other ways. When you get too good at your favorite games, you have to find ways to make it interesting again. I also skip upgrades when they aren't required.

I think that I'm good with how difficult they come already. Handicapping my player to make it a lot worse is killing myself with my own hands.

Absolutely! I often choose challenging skills and make tough decisions for added difficulty, enhancing the game's immersion and overall experience.
