Justin11
Did you remember the era when the offside trap wasn't observed? Yes, it wasn't around in the era below 1863. Offside rule came into existence from 1863 to date. What you'll ask yourself is, how many goals did the strikers during the era below 1863 scored in a single match or in a full calendar season in football? Assumed offside were to be cancelled in our current era, how many goals do you think the top strikers will score in a single match or season? killamch89
You'd have some ridiculous scores like 20-18 and all that sort of stuff because you have players like Timo Werner who are always offside for some reason would benefit the most. Most strikers would simply wait near the 18 yard box so when the opposition loses the ball they'd just punt it upfield.
Clasher
Looking at football closely you will find that players subconsciously are aware of offside and try as much as possible not to go into it. But I don't think there would be any major difference between the amount of goals recorded by strikers with the offside rule or without it. The off side rule affects both team either ways so if it isn't there defenders and strikers alike would still be aware of their wings and play accordingly. You could be right - but remembering my youthful days playing without the offside rule, there used to be some 9-0s among other stuff.

Even with offside rule some professional teams still win 10-0 and even more so that doesn't count.

The Game would be so chaotic as players would just be banging in goals and defenders would be defenseless and maybe we would see a lot of red cards because defenders would go to any length to stop the strikers.
