Syntax
A lot of video games are skipped (ex; walking to places, backstory of characters or side characters), and are explained or not in quests, etc. A film based on that tends to struggle, and once they try to backfill the information people complain it doesn't align to the game anymore. Justin11
Some stunts and actions In videos games especially the action adventure video and horror games genres are so unrealistic and to be able to achieve that in a real movie will cost a lot and the risk is high. Some of the stunts would need to be done behind the green screen others might only be achieved if performed realistically by the actors.
egghead
i think some games have been well adapted into movies. However, l also believe that games are batter adapted in a TV show rather than a movie of 90 minutes.
Reality vs Adventure
Film is meant to watch, games are meant to play. How many movies have a 1st person view? None besides Blair witch. Do you want every movie to be 1st person?
Justin11
I recently watched uncharted 2022 and though it was an interesting movie which tried to replicate the action and adventure aspect of the game uncharted you still wouldn't expect every single detail to be a hundred percent represented that would be quite unattainable. Scorpion
Video games often prioritize interactive storytelling and gameplay, which doesn't translate well to film. Adapting narratives and characters is challenging.
Heatman
Well, I believe that it's all about the teams that are behind the video games adaptation to movies or TV shows. The Last of Us was a good example that it can be done so well.
