I know some Gamers have 'day jobs' & do gaming for just some extra cash. Is it worth it? Do you feel you get burnt out more having to play games for money? I would feel the pressure personally. It's just that I play games for fun and making it into a sidehustle makes it less fun - I do know a few people who went down this road for a while and stopped because they started to lose interest in gaming because they weren't enjoying it as much. Empire Posted October 14, 2022 Share Posted October 14, 2022 I made nothing from gaming, You can be a game tester and whatnot 😉 However trying to get into one is not that simple then downloading and gaming with test software. When my grandpa who was working for a client said that his son in law was making his own business as a game game developer and neded to hire people from all mixed jobs, Game testers was one of those things 🙂 I got hold of the name and I lokked into it. Turn out that there company been running for 10 years and made many games and they have a team of 20 people. I had a email and buy it was a real-deal and did not expect that. Even when you decide that you want to make money from gaming, believe me that it is going to be one of those tough decisions because you are going to spend a lot of time on games that won't give you the kind of return that you were expecting. It would be nice to earn money from doing playthroughs but with me not being on any ADD medications and with my OCD grabbing hold of different games for only so long before I just jump to a next one, it is practically impossible for me to do that. Even just finishing a game playthrough is hard enough for me. Just look at my and @The Blackangel’s gaming channel. Syntax Posted October 17, 2022 Share Posted October 17, 2022 I've tried to, but a lot of games that have an auction house or way to trade in-game items for real-life money, tend to have a tax (or just straight up banned outright by the rules). Justin11 Posted October 19, 2022 Share Posted October 19, 2022 This totally depends on which category you are in, you could earn a few bucks playing videogames but not as much as a professional game developer could earn it maybe someone who is a renowned video game content streamer. It's either you work on them, stream them, review them, join an eSports league, etc. It's kinda hard to make money from gaming.
