StaceyPowers
I put a disc in my PS3 yesterday, and it made this disturbing loud vibrating noise. I took it out and put itback, and it is still doing it a little, but much more quietly. Anyone had this happen or know what the problem is? The Blackangel
I've had it happen a few times. Usually it means the console itself is off balance, or hot for some reason. Or it just thinks it's hot or unbalanced. The PS3 is a weirdo. You can try unplugging it, count to 20 or 30, whatever, then plug it back in. That usually solves the issue for me. Shortie
I remember when I had a PS3 we ran into this issue and I found it was because the PS3 console was off balance and it made the console make a weird noise when a disc was in the console. We managed to get the console sat so that it was straight and not off balance and the issue stopped so that could be something to look at.
Smokey
it's an off-balance issue. This happened to me when I first got my original PS3 until I moved it and it was in a balanced state. My PS5 does this when I put a game in, but it stops after the console finishes 'reading' the disc. I'm not sure if it's a similar issue or the same issue as I have my PS5 console standing up, but it'd be interesting to test my theory.
