How is your life any different from programmed artificial intelligence?

We all grow up a certain way. How is your life not programmed? Have you ever done anything against the wishes of your peers? If you have, then that is a greater intelligence. That is what makes AI special. It makes it no better or less than the human brain. We can be programmed and we can think for ourselves. I put this in the gaming forum because I was inspired by the game Deus Ex Mankind Divided; just a nobody on the street that I heard talk had a piece of wisdom. We are all programmed. Fight against it. Think for yourselves. Be a true rebel, not a rebel that your peers are forcing on you. Think for yourself. That’s the whole basis of artificial intelligence and that’s the whole basis of human intellect.

To answer your question on how my life isn’t different to AI, in actual fact, it is. What’s stopping me making own decisions? AI can’t do that - even self driving!

Well, how my life isn’t different to AI is that it's not another human being that coded and programmed me in any way. I have my freewill to do anything I want and when I want it. This is the basis of being completely different from AI.

This goes back to the eternal debate of 'nature vs nurture'.  How much of your destiny is prewritten for you based on your parents, your upbringing, even the neighborhood in which you go to school.   There are a lot of determinants and factors that influence and strongly shape you, but one of the best aspects of humanity is our own free will - we can and do break free of these bounds when we want!

Lately I have been making decisions that surprise everyone. They will always mention how that is unlike me and how different I have become. But what actually changed is that I no longer act the way they deemed fit. As human I am build differently, I make my own choices and I’m not controlled by others.

I think our lives differ through emotions and free will, which drive unpredictable decisions and unique experiences that AI just can’t replicate.

We are all prepared by our upbringing, culture and experiences which is the code for each of us as humans. But it is our ability to think and ask, reason and decide that can rightfully be called intelligence.

You are teaching about determinism and free will. As human beings we are always shaped by our environment and experiences, but equally, we are rational beings capable of making decisions.

You raise an interesting argument. It’s true that we are shaped by external forces, but would you say that AI can truly be 'rebellious' in the same way humans can? Even in Deus Ex, those acts of rebellion seem to require a sense of purpose or emotion, something that may be uniquely human.
