Do you consider yourself wasting too much time and money on games?

Exactly. That's how I see it as well. It's a hobby that I do in my free time - if you're having issues that need to handled in your life and you're gaming instead of taking care of that, I'd consider that wasting your time.

As long as you're playing your video games judiciously, it's always going to be worth it even if you tend to spend a few bucks in the game's microtransactions if you're the type who plays mostly free to play games.

Thanks. The main reasons are that there are only 3 or so games exclusive to the 9th gen that interest me so far, and I still have a lot of 8th-gen games that I want to buy. I'll probably wait for 10th gen to buy a new console, unless they get rid of physical media, in which case I'll get a hybrid gaming PC instead. With physical media gone the only advantage consoles will have is a streamlined UI, which I might as well trade in for DRM-free digital copies and mods.

There should always be priority in whatever someone is doing. Yes, it's good to have fun but when it's time to do other important things, it's right to move on from fun and face that.

It's something most adults are supposed to know how to do. Unfortunately, there are some people who just don't get it.

Well, yes. Playing video games is a hobby for me. And there's nothing wrong with people who spend some bucks on their hobby. It's a way to relax. You invest in yourself.

True! As long as it is something that you are not overdoing in a way that you're going to start experiencing some consequences afterwards, I think there is nothing wrong with playing your games that way.

There hasn't been any games to waste money on. I've had to focus on my horror films instead, since I have nothing new to keep me occupied. 😆

Honestly, no. I don’t think playing games is a waste of time and if I invest my own money into gaming, it’s not a waste of my money as it’s something that I enjoy doing.

You mean you don't find any game worth paying money for? I mean there are a whole lot of games that you can spend on and get the desired satisfaction from doing so.

Well, I just find games too hard, or boring. All the new horror games either have too much combat, or none. There has to be a balance. I don't just wanna run around in the dark, or shooting things just to collect the loot the enemies leave behind. 

Capcom is just milking Resident Evil into the earth, because for the past 5 years, they've been churning out semi-decent games (usually remakes) with half the original game's material omitted. So they tend to feel undercooked, and the gameplay is sluggish too. The old RE games had weapons that packed a punch.

The handgun in RE7 feels so weak. But the zombies in the remakes can get multiple headshots and still moan, and their grip is strong. 🤪

I am also a very big fan of horror movies because they are quite thrilling to watch if you understand what I mean. Which horror movies have been the best you have seen this year? I'm looking for recommendations of what next to watch.

In my case the answer is no.  I do play video games but I'm not so addicted to gaming that it controls my life.  When I was a kid, my parents would also make me go outside to play or do other things.  So I wasn't allowed to just play video games all the time.  That may be why.....my parents never did let my life revolve around video games so my life doesn't revolve around it now.
