Any can answer this question with a long-drawn explanation, most will be able to answer this question with a sentence. Many will be able to answer this with a single sentence, or even single word.

Me, I answer this with a single letter;

A

A were the band that introduced to the truth that there was something better than than the nonsense the we call "pop".

From Rammstein to OOMPH!, Sabaton to Nitghwish, Iron Maiden to Judas Priest, Metallica to Testament, X Japan to Lovebites, In Flames to Scar Symmerty, Linkin Park to Falling in Reverse, it all started with this, sadly mostly forgotten, post-punk band from London. Thier album Hi-Fi Serious changed my life.

For me, it's 50 Cent's 'In Da Club' and Eminem's 'Cleaning Out My Closet.' Another song that takes me back is J-Kwon's 'Tipsy' and Mims' 'This Is Why I'm Hot.'"

The music era up to the late 2000s was the last period of great music. After that, it's basically become a cesspool.

Up to 1990. With a small handful of bands, everything after the 80’s is pure vomit with a guitar.

I'd have to disagree. There were quite a few up to the mid 2000s. After that, everything really went left.
